Hi All,
I'm back from my trip to Disney. I'm contemplating a trip report because there were some interesting moments but we divided our time between Disney and Unviersal. The trip there and back seemed unreal (I did all the driving). Everywhere we went we saw Flags, banners, and people huddled around tvs waiting for the latest updates.
Then I came home to the empty skyline and I cried again.
We don't have cable tv so right now we get about 3 channels and one of them is Spanish. DH can understand that, I can't, sooooo it looks like I might have to go back to Cablevision. Yuck.
Haven't begun to restart the rewards programs. Maybe tomorrow.
Take care all,
Adele aka Baileymouse

I'm glad to hear that you are back safe! I think that will help disney better than anything, people like you telling about your trips since the attacks!!

Thanks for the welcome back! I feel better being home. I posted a trip report (kinda left out the Unviersal trip details) on the trip report board.
Now I am contemplating getting cable. I had cable until about 3 years ago. I canceled because I felt my son was watching too much, and we were so close to NYC that the signals came in clearly. Now we have only 3 channels and one of them is Spanish - great for the multilingual DH, not so good for the rest of us  .
I hope everyone's life is back to normal and that everyone had a better week than the last. I still feel extremely fortunate - everyone I knew was either late to work or had something else keep them from the WTC that morning.
The Best of Everything to all of you!!!!

I just figured out why you are now having problems getting TV reception ... the attena were on top of the WTC! Bummer :(. Why don't you consider satellite TV instead of cable? They are running some great specials right now. We are thinking about changing from cable to satellite ourselves ... I can't stand paying $40+ for "extended basic" cable which does not even include any premium channels like HBO.

Hi Robin,
I would love to get a satellite dish rather than pay Cablevision (don't get me started on them!) but my building is from 1927, with no balconies and my windows face northeast (once towards the WTC...) not south. The landlord said that since we have a cable hookup we can't have a dish. We're on the top floor so roof installation would have been easy but it's a no for now.
My DH is an avid photographer and he has tons of WTC pix, so I'm going to help him put together a website so others can enjoy them. One of the photos is a shot from our roof.
Take care,
Adele
