I remember reading somewhere that some hotels within Disney World will pick you up from the airport? I think that is what they said. Anyway, does anyone know if Shades of Green does this shuttle type thing? Also does Shades of Green offer a shuttle to the actual park? I'm trying to figure out if we really "need" a rental....

You can jump on a shuttle bus (for a fee) at the airport, ask at the info counter or look for a bus with your resort name on it. We have used this service for 2 of us, but its actually cheaper to get a limo or town car for a larger group. We never rent a car, cause once you are in the parks, the disney shuttle buses take you everywhere. Never stayed at Shades of green, so can't tell you how relable the shuttles are at that resort.

Hi.

If you are a WDW resort guest you can arrange for free Magical Express airport transportation when you make your reservation. If you haven't booked your flight at the time you make your hotel reservation, just call the reservation # (407-W-Disney) when you have your flight info and they will add it to your reservation.

All WDW resorts offer continuous bus service to and from the parks and DTD. If you plan to go resort to resort, you have to be creative with the bus transportation or take a cab.

I was just woundering after the Celebration ends next year, will Disney continue with the Magical Express service? They got us all used to it and it would be ashame if they did away with it, even if they would charge a fee, it would still be nice to have.

I don't think that DME is going to go away. They have too much invested in the program. There may be a fee but who knows since Universal is supposed to be starting a program like this.

When is your trip? ME is currently free, but that will be ending in 2006(I forget the month-but I know it is after March) Depending on the size of your family (if ME is no longer free) it might be cheaper for you to rent a car (from Mco to TTC and TTC to Mco usually about $80for a intermediate) or you might want to get a towncar. I would keep my ears open on the Transportation Board to see what might work for you. Hope you have a great trip :goodvibes

sorry but Shades of Green (SOG) doesn't qualify for Magic Express bus service from the airport to the hotel. We got around it by staying the first night at a disney hotel, then moving to SOG the next morning. We packed light, only carry-ons, so it wasn't a big deal to move luggage on the buses. A few days before our return flight we switched back to a disney hotel. We have 3 kids so the values are out (max of 4 to a rm). We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside which allows 5, they have a trundle bed that my 12 yr old slept on.

SOG does have it's own bus service to the parks. The one to TTC (tickets/transportation where you get a monorail or boat) runs every 15 min. All the other parks buses run once an hour, but it can get confusing since one bus runs on the hour, another on the 1/2 hour, another at 20 till, etc. Any problems with the buses find Betty. She's the supervisor and is just great!

Just a note on the phone number. If you call 407-W-Disney just ask them for the Magic Express phone number. When I called I explained that I just wanted to provide flight info for Magic Express. Well I was misunderstood and they thought I wanted to change my flight info. After 25 minutes they told me I had to call the airlines. Finally I told them, again, that I was only wanting to provide my flight info for magic express. 10 more minutes on hold and they gave me the magic express phone number. I don't have it now or I would post it.

The phone number is contained in a sticky post at the top of the transportation board.

The number to call to book is (866) 599-0951.
