:wave: Hello Fellow DIS'ers. :wave:

:( :( :( I'm sorry to say that I have decided to cancel our trip to DIS-Con this year. :( :( :(

It's really important to me that you know a few things.....

1) I am not saying, "you win" to the terrorists! I am not afraid to fly, and I am not afraid to leave my home.

2) I feel the need to cancel because of my family's uncertain financial future. With our ecomony on the slide, my DH's job is never secure. It doesn't make sense to me for our family to be spending so lavishly right now.

3) We are going to donate the hotel package part of our trip to The Red Cross. My DH's company will match it 100%, so this will make for a nice contribution. I really feel the need to help more! There is little I can do from here, but I can give blood and money.

4) I am soooooo sorry that I won't be able to meet all of you.......you are some of my favorite people in the whole wide world! :( :( :( I'm especially going to miss the 'hug fest' Please pass a {{{hug}}} from me to each of you. :)

Tia, it is perfectly understandable for you to look at the bigger picture and your families financial well being. So sorry I won't get to meet you. But there is next year, and Disney will be there and wait for you.

Tia, I'm so sorry I won't be meeting you at DIS-CON this year, but I most certainly understand your decision, and I applaud you for being strong enough to make such a difficult decision. Tou will most certainly be missed by all who have been reading this board.

I had a nice weekend and I hope you all did too! :) :) :)

Guess what my mom did to help make me feel better.....she called WDW to make sure they weren't very busy (duh!) and then she said, well you could always change your mind later. :rolleyes: She knows that I can't get a refund on my plane tickets, so I've left those until the last minute....doesn't matter if I cancel now or later, I still get docked $100/ticket. :mad: I don't really want to think this way, but it does soften the blow a little knowing that if I really just couldn't stand it any longer and I just had to to, I could. :D I wouldn't be able to do any of the convention events, but correct me if I'm wrong, the {{{hug fest}}} was open to anyone, right? ;) :) ;) :) Well this is just to take the sting out of the wound, I'm sure I'll be right here at my pc from Nov. 28th through Dec. 2nd, wearing my Mickey Santa hat and my DIS t-shirt, typing in {{{hugs}}} to you guys in WDW. :(
