This past year Disney offered tours to Hawaii, and I believe, Yellowstone National Park. Are there any plans for similar adventures for 2006?

I need to know this too! They were called Disney Adventures. I called to request info on them as they were ending, but never received anything :(

I don't understand why this would be appealing? We take family adventures which include a lot of travel and intersting places not related to Disney and frankly I don't think I'd care if Goofy was with me while hiking the Grand Canyon or Mickey was with me on a tour of Hearst Castle.

To me Disney is what it is and while the cruise line is very successful it seems to still be just Disney...Only on a boat.

I don't mean to be judgemental so maybe you could explain why this type of trip would be palatable to anyone because I don't understand that.

I think the main reason this might appeal to people is that for the most part Disney offers good quality products and service. They are a known entity, and therefore safe to "invest" the family vacation time in. We probably wouldn't go on these, but I can see why someone might.

Well said Colemenares!

We've done DCL 3x, and WDW 8x all within the past 4 yrs. While we've thoroughly enjoyed each vacation we're ready for something else. This might serve as a good transition for our family for a non-WDW/DCL vacation. There are a lot of tour operators. Some are credible, and some less than so. As mentioned, Disney is a known entity, and generally provides a quality product.

I'm having trouble visualizing what this entails. Is Disney just in the business of vacation tours there? Or, have they created a "Disney Experience" out of it? Meaning, are there characters, shows, etc.?

The following thread has some info regarding last years "Disney Adventures": http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=743939&highlight=hawaii

Check "Dizma's Trip Report" on page 2 of the thread. Apparently, it's not so much "character oriented" as it is "service oriented".
