Great pictures!! What photo equipment are you using??
kylie
12-17-2005, 06:49 AM
Canon EOS10D
Canon EF75-3oo Ultrasonic
Sigma 18-50
Manfotto Tripod
The Pictures are OK, but still a bit rough. When I get home next week I will fine tune them and the many still on my hard drive. I may even print some of them for my photo wall!!!
The firewoks are always a challenge. I took them over two nights at Epocot had excellent locations and then got overwhelmed at the finale. I should have reduced the exposure time beause of the amount of light. The last shots which should have been the best where overexposed. Guess I'll have to come back in June and try again.
My wife rolls her eyes when she sees me attach the tripod to my rucksack

Canon EOS10D
Canon EF75-3oo Ultrasonic
Sigma 18-50
Manfotto Tripod
Another 10D man ;) That's what I had with me however no tripod = really crap night time shots, so I avoided taking too many.
I am not a professional but people when they see the kit think I am press photographer or something, actually funny story I was taking a photo of my wife and son in one of the queues from a wee bit back and then all of a sudden I had some people around going who’s in the queue is it someone famous LOL ;) Love it!
Anyways my kit for my trip was as follows:
Canon 10D
Canon EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM
Canon EF17-40mm f/4L USM
Canon Speedlite 550EX
Battery Grip with 2 batteries and 1 spare
So it was a far amount to cart about, however adding a tripod would have been the straw that would have broken my back LOL ;)

Really like the pictures, thanks for sharing them - I am not used to seeing people in coats and trousers, as we can only go during the school holidays.
The Fireworks pictures are excellent, well done. :)

Good camera. But as they say it's who is behind the camera is what counts and I have to admit you know what you are doing. I know what you mean when you say your wife rolls her eyes. I use to do that in my younger days. Right now I'm looking at a Panasonic fz30. 35-420 zoom Leica lens. Great review at www.dpreview.com. On your fireworks have you tried a 1 sec shutter speed and f5.6-f11 at iso 50 or f8-f16 at iso 100?

From memory they were taken at 1 sec F8 and Raw images. For the climax this was way to much, but the buffer was full as i could not resist pressing the remote. Back to work tomorrow but I will review the photos over the holidays and post the best.
Supercod I know what you mean. I was at Stamford bridge last year and one of the atendants approached me when I put the 300mm lens on and said his boss would throw me out if he saw me thinking I was press and trying to avoid paying them their fee. BTW I also have a 550EX but it lost out to the tripod which is the MF4 carbonfibre (very light, unfortantly the head is not)
I used the widw zoom and sneaked a few with the tele in the 2nd half :sunny:
They are now my desktop background.
When I conclude the review I think I can set clubphoto up so that anyone can download full resolution photos and if anyone wishes they can help themselves. I think their is one or two in my archieve which may be of interest

I have uploaded some of our last nights photos. They are of the Osbourne lights at MGM. I had taken the Tripod but there was so many people around did not think it appropriate to use it so all were taken handheld and therefore not as sharp.

If anyone is wondering how you can't see them on the 1st link it's because they are in another album here is the link to that http://members1.clubphoto.com/paul74664/3950721/guest.phtml ;)
Great night shots from handheld, can't even tell with some of them.

BTW I have be asked what I refered to when I mentioned "raw" in a previous post.
It is not a state of undress but and uncompressed Photo format which allows photographs, at any time, to be altered in the same way that the camera settings effect the picture at the time of taking.

Heatherbelle,
The prices I mentioned in reply to your PM for the 20D and 350D were without the lens, they are advertised on Amazon for the same price with a lens
