I'm not sure how to put pictures here and don't know how I'd decide, anyway. If you want to see pics from this trip, go to www.photobucket.com and search for album called tzuhouse. You'll see the WDW sub album. I'll post a pic of the golden tickets later.

December 4 - 14
As I write this, I’m sitting at the Orlando airport awaiting our flight. Due to bad weather in Houston today, our flight is delayed about 5 hours. To begin, I was at WDW once, back in 1992. I spent a few hours at MK and a few at Epcot with my DH. That was the extent of my experience.

I had decided long ago that Tinkerbell was going to help make this trip magical. I created little 2 inch by 1 inch, golden tickets. The font was Walt Disney Script size 5, so it was very small. I tell you that now, so as I go through the report, you’ll understand when I speak of Tinkerbell tickets and presents. My boys are 6.5 and 4 years of age.

Here we go!
Day 1 - 12/4
Finally, after 14 months of planning, it was finally the day. We arrived in Orlando about 11:00am. Everything went smoothly, including getting our luggage (way too much, but I’ve never been known for packing very well), our rental car, etc. A DISer had gotten us a 2 BR timeshare at Fairfield Cypress Palms and we had driving directions, so we arrived there by 12:15pm. After unloading our stuff into the room, which was super clean and spacious, we loaded back up, with our new friend, Jodine, and went to Downtown Disney. I picked up the tickets for DH and the boys and exchanged my AP certificate. We spent a few hours looking around, having silhouettes cut for Christmas presents for the grandparents, etc. We then went to Wilderness Lodge for a 5:40ADR. Arrived early, so we walked for a bit. We were seated a little early, even though I told them we weren’t in a rush. I was able to excuse myself from the table and speak with our wonderful CM about beginning the Tinkerbell surprises. As we ate our meal, she came over with a tiny piece of white paper, rolled into a scroll and wrapped with a gold ribbon. We attempted to read it, but the writing was so tiny, we could not. When she came back by she asked about it. We told her it was too small and then she produced a magnifying glass (I’d given it to her earlier, with the scroll) She said she forgot to give that to us.

The scroll said:
“Hi Ryan and Sean!

I’m so happy you are finally here! I have many magical plans for you. Now, you have to remember, for Magic to happen, you have to behave. I know you will, but had to remind you, just in case. Also, there is no crying in Walt Disney World, unless it’s happy crying. Don’t forget.

My first surprise will be happening in just a little while. Eat all your dinner and have a Magical time!

Love,
Tinkerbell

PS I write very tiny, but I’ve sent a magnifying glass along. Keep it safe. You’ll be needing it again!”

They were so very excited! We had a great meal at WCC. The boys loved riding the stick horses around, waving their napkins, etc. Towards the end of the meal, our waitress came back and said that Tink had dropped off an envelope. This tiny little envelope was heat embossed with white snowflakes. (Actually, all of them were, but of course, we didn’t know that yet. : ) We got the envelope open and there were two (one for each) identical little tickets. Once we found the magnifying glass, we were able to read them. I cannot find those tickets, right now, but they invited the boys to be at the boat dock at 8:00pm. Turned out, we were going on a Wishes Cruise. It was chilly, but we have a great time, anyway. What a wonderful to begin our vacation.

When we arrived back at the room, someone had left a Pal Mickey on each of the boys’ beds. Both were wearing cute Santa hats (came from Build A Bear) and were holding a little stocking that said Ryan and Sean. Each stocking had 5 disney dollars. We slept great on night number 1.

I had to tell you I had tears in my eyes and a smile on my face reading your first report. When I have children, I hope to be able to do the same special things for them. I hope you and your family had a magical trip, and I can't wait to read more! Thank you for brightening my morning!

Day 2 - 12/5

We awoke early today and on the bathroom counter in the boys room were two fanny packs. If I haven’t told you yet, Sean is a train nut, so his favorite color is blue since Thomas the train is blue. Any blue works. So, there were two. One red and one blue. Each had a personal Incredible fan, some Incredibles band-aids, some Mickey chapstick, a pack of wet wipes, a deck of cards (Finding Nemo Crazy Eights for Sean and some Mickey cards for Ryan) and maybe something else that I’m forgetting. Also, was a white envelope with two golden tickets. And, you could see where Tink had walked. It was like she sprinkled pixie dust and it created a trail across the bathroom counter. (Each day the trail was there, but she landed in different areas each time, so I’d clean up at night and the new one would be there in the morning.) The tickets read:

“Are you ready to have some fun?! I have friends expecting you at MGM Studios. Have a magical day! Tink”

So, we now knew that our itinerary was being dictated by Tinkerbell. The boys were not upset at all that she didn’t send us to Magic Kingdom first.

We arrived at MGM just slightly after opening. We got our multiday stroller tickets and set off. DH went and road ToT and RnR. We walked over there and then went and got in line for Playhouse Disney. DH met up and we all went to the show, with Jo. The day was pretty uneventful. Ryan was pretty freaked about Star Tours. I went and rode it first and told him I thought he’d like it. Then Richard went and said the same. Later in the day Sean wanted to go and he was tall enough, so we dragged Ryan on, literally peeling his fingers off the rails. (I know, some of you think I should be reported to CPS. What you have to understand is that this child is scared of everything until he experiences it.) So we went on and he was trying to get out of the seatbelt, being a little drama king. When it was over, he acted scared for about a minute. Then he wanted to go again. That was the start of a common thread, at least for a few days. He rode Star Tours 3 times that day. We had lunch at the ABC commissary. Ryan gave the nuggets a thumbs down. Sean ate his and Ryans. We went to Indiana later and DH was an extra. He had to dance like a ballerina, which was really funny. We had an ADR for the following Saturday night for Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic, but Jo suggested that she go grab some seats for Fantasmic! since the weather was good, while we ate. How we found her in that massive crowd of people, I have no idea. She had really been thinking that morning and had dressed in a very bright outfit. In all those people, my DH, who doesn’t even notice when I get 5 inches cut off my hair, found Jo in the crowd. The show was wonderful and it was so nice to not have to worry about the weather for Saturday night and such. I cancelled the ADR while we waited for the show to begin.

Afterwards we made our way to the lot. Richard and the boys went on to the room and I got in Jo’s car and we went to Walmart to buy some milk, bread and such.

Day 2 was over, but the vacation was just beginning and we were having a blast.

Thanks everyone, for your kind words. You know, my DH asked me about a week before we left, what he could do for me to make sure it was magical, since I'd been working so hard to make it magical for the boys. My response was that, if it was half as magical as what I had pictured in my head, and I got some of those moments captured with my camera, I'd be happy.

I cannot even begin to tell you. There were so many moments. Days of them. It truly was almost perfect. Exactly the way I'd envisioned it. Some was planning, and most was just pure magic. Tink really was out there helping me. I just couldn't see her.

Day 3 is coming in a little bit. Our flight wound up being delayed 5 hours last night, so we got home at 1:30am our time, instead of 7:35pm, as planned.

Day 3 - 12/6

The tickets this morning read:

“Today, I’m anxious for some of my friends to meet you. Please be at the Crystal Palace for breakfast, at 8:05am. Have a Magical Day! Tink”

So, we went to the Magic Kingdom. Having never been there before, we followed some cars into the parking lot. We wound up in a lot with a bunch of Disney buses. We stopped and asked one of the drivers where we should park and he told us that there was no transportation running to MK at that time of morning from TTC and that we needed to go park at the Contemporary. That didn’t seem correct to me, but what did I know. I’d only been on the DISboards since February and Tour Guide Mike since September or so. So, we drove to the Contemporary. Luckily, there are lots of signs. We got there and the guard at the gate basically laughed at us when we told him what we were trying to do. I honestly do NOT think he believed us that we’d been told by a bus driver to park over there. Under no circumstances was he going to allow us to park there, so back we went. I called Disney from my cell as we were driving and the lady there was shocked what we’d been told. She told us exactly where we needed to park and was wonderful. I was so worried we’d be late for our ADR. This time we went the correct way and parked on the front row. We finally made it to the turnstiles. Something had happened to a Christmas tree on Main Street and they were not allowing anyone in, yet. So, we got to CP about 8:15am, but were seated promptly. They didn’t even know why everyone was late for their ADRs. The boys had a blast meeting Pooh and friends, even though they are too old for Pooh. LOL DH loved the breakfast. He said he could have stayed there all day. And, I was able to get a birthday card signed by all the characters for a lady on the TGM boards who had to cancel her trip due to a cancer diagnosis. Wish I could have gotten a pic with all the characters together, but they were afraid if I did it, everyone in the restaurant would jump up to do the same.

Once we finished breakfast the park had already officially opened, so we headed for Dumbo and didn’t have to wait too long. Sean had been waiting for that for months. At the Barnstormer, Ryan gave us the same issue as Star Tours. We tried to explain it was a child roller coaster and that it was no big deal compared to Star Tours, but he still didn’t believe us. He rode it and said it was okay. (Maybe he’ll learn to trust us during this trip?) Sean loved it.

We did attend the Merlin show twice, with Ryan hoping he’d get picked. He was Dartannon for Halloween two years ago, so the Sword and the Stone is right up his alley. He loved the show, but didn’t get picked either time. I knew it was a long shot, but it was worth a try. And, the trip wasn’t over yet.

Later in the day we arrived at Big Thunder Mountain. Sean was tall enough and wanted to go (it’s is a train, you know), so we all loaded in, with Jo. I sat with Sean, our little daredevil. The ride completely freaked him out. He hated it. Ryan walked, well, maybe skipped, off saying “THAT WAS AWESOME!” He and Daddy rode it again, immediately, while Sean and Jo and I waited.

Wait a minute! Did I just say that Ryan loved Big Thunder Mountain? This is the child and thought Dumbo was too high and attempted to beg out of that one, along with the others. Yes, I said that exact thing. : ) Well what do you know!

The park closed at 6:00pm that day, so we didn’t get to everything, but that was fine. I knew Tink was sending us back again. Once again, we had a marvelous day. We all slept great.

Day 4 - 12/7

“Hope you had a great day yesterday. Thought you might want to see some of Florida. You have tickets waiting at Kennedy Space Center. Or, you can do something different, if you prefer. Enjoy your day! Tink”

I did this because I didn’t know how they would feel after two full days at the parks. I knew I was going to Kennedy, no matter what. Having grown up in Houston and spending a lot of time at Johnson Space Center as a child and now taking my boys to Space Center Houston regularly, there was no question. We asked the boys and they wanted to go. So we loaded up and drove the hour to Kennedy. I loved seeing the launch pads on the special tour I went on. The boys went on the regular tour with DH and then played at the play area until I got back. I do think that, given the choice of Space Center Houston or Kennedy, I’d choose Space Center Houston. Just seems that there is much more for children that age to do, where they are having fun while learning. Others may not agree.

We got back to the room about 6:00pm and relaxed, had dinner, and went to sleep.

Day 5 - 12/8

“Today you’ll see some amazing creatures. Have fun at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I’ve arranged breakfast for you with a Duck! Tell him good morning and give him a hug. Tink” Oh, and she left each of them little safari hats with mickey ears. Ryan said they were silly and didn’t want to wear his, although he did, later.

And it rained. It rained all night that night and continued all day. Not a downpouring rain, but enough to just be miserable. I had purchased ponchos months back, so luckily we weren't running for cover. I was able to borrow some scissors in one of the gift shops because they boys' ponchos were way too long. I trimmed the arms and bottom and we were ready for anything. I was surprised how many actually were there, but not so many that we didn’t do everything we wanted. I absolutely could have stood and looked at the Tree of Life, all day long. It is spectacular. We did not see the Flights of Wonder show, since it was cancelled. They were doing a meet and greet with the birds, but the boys have seen lots of shows about raptors and such at the Houston zoo and the Texas Renaissance Festival, so we skipped it. I thought DH would go on Kali, but he said he was wet enough and it was a bit chilly. And, Sean wasn’t tall enough for Primevil Whirl and Ryan didn’t want to go, so we didn’t. Other than that, we did everything. Yes, even Dinosaur. I think it freaked the boys out a little but not so much as Thunder Mountain did Sean. We attended the 2:00 show of the Lion King. What an awesome show. The boys loved it. Sean got picked to tell what a giraffe says. He didn’t know, but he sure was cute in that little hat. We left after that and had a restful rest of the day, after some really nice hot showers and baths.

What a beautiful report! I love the notes from TInk- I've been doing notes from Santa's elves each day during Advent, and I'm running out of things to say!
How old are your boys? I'm trying to decide whether or not to do Kennedy space center this trip... DD is 7, and twin DS's are 5. My husband would love it- but what about the rest of us?

Thanks!
Keep writing!

Ryan is 6.5 and Sean is 4. They liked it, but we go to Space Center Houston every few months, so some of it, like seeing Saturn 5, was not exciting because they've seen one so much. If your children haven't seen giant rockets and such, I would imagine it would be really thrilling. We did not have time to see the IMAX movie, so I cannot comment on it. The ones we see at Space Center Houston are always great.

Mary,

That was a really neat idea. We are expecting the arrival of our first DS this Feb. And of course my DW and I can't wait to take him once he is old enough. So it's interesting to see the things that other parents do to add a little extra magic for thier kids.

Day 6 - 12/9

“I really love today’s destination. It’s great when you can learn, while on vacation! Enjoy your day and then your night, it will be full of beautiful light. Tink”

I guess I hadn’t really put much thought into the fact that this clue would not lead the boys to Epcot. Afterall, they’ve never been there before. They didn’t question it when I said “Oh, Epcot has lots of places to learn! That must be wear we are going!” We headed to Epcot and, along with everyone else, headed to Soarin’ Following TGM advice got us where we wanted to be quickly. We lucked out and were put in the front row. Amazing. That is all I can say! We loved it.

We basically did everything. Jo met up with us right before we headed for Crush. She’d never seen the show and it was fun sharing the boys with her. Crush talked with Ryan and Sean got upset when he didn’t get picked. He was crying when the show ended and, before we could leave, Crush came back on, saying “What wrong little dude?” He was so happy that Crush spoke to him. He told Crush what he tells everyone. That he loves Thomas the train, and Crush said, “What’s a train?” Anyway, they were getting ready to load again, so we got him out of there, but that small interaction made the difference between having a minor setback and a major meltdown.

DH road Mission Space and, while on his way to Test Track, Ryan decided he wanted to go, so we let him. He said he liked it, but didn’t ask to do it again. While they road Test Track, Sean and I took a leisurely walk to Mexico and waited there. It began to rain, so I dug out the ponchos. So glad we took them. It rained the rest of the day. At least we made it through the morning dry. The boys took their passports to each station and Jo and I walked over to Germany to see if Dopey was coming out with Snow. He’s one of my favorites and I really wanted a picture with him. But, it was not meant to be. Due to the rain, no one was coming out, so we walked back and finished going to the countries with the boys. We wound up jumping to the end and then working our way back, since we needed to be in the U.S. that evening. Sean fell asleep during the American Adventure

We had 6:45pm Candlelight Processional tickets with an ADR at Rose & Crown for 8:00pm so about 6:15pm we got in line and said goodbye to Jo. We were seated fairly quickly and the show was beautiful. I’m so glad I chose that show. It was dark enough that the candlelight really set the mood. Ryan loved the music and sat and conducted during the entire show, while his brother slept right through it all on DHs lap. Jaci Velasquez was the person to read the story of Christ’s birth.

Afterwards, we headed to UK and checked in for dinner. I explained that we really needed a table where the stroller could be, so we could eat without having to hold Sean. I also explained that we were staying for the fireworks (and showed them the ticket Tink had left) and would love a patio table, if possible. Sean woke up a little later, so I went back and let them know we didn’t need that stroller friendly table afterall, hoping it would give us a better shot at the patio view. Tink was with me and they seated us on the patio. So glad they have those heaters in the ceiling and hot coffee. It was a little chilly, but not terrible. We had coats and such, so we were good. I could NOT believe how much food we got with those Processional tickets. All 4 of us got and appetizer, entree and dessert. We hauled 4 to-go boxes out of there because we were not going to be eating it all.

The fireworks were beautiful. Sean was a little freaked by the loud noises and, knowing what was coming at the end, Hilda, our CM, asked if she could take Sean and his new train he’d bought at the UK toy store inside. She said he watched the fireworks throught the window while talking about his trains to her. She was wonderful. What a blessing that she knew to get him inside before the floor vibrated from the end of the show.

It had stopped raining and we leisurely strolled to the car. Really a wonderful evening. I cannot believe we got so lucky to get that table!

Day 7 - 12/10

“The resorts are full of the Christmas Cheer. Have some tasty treats, while you are there! I recommend breakfast with someone you’ll know. Be at the Grand Floridian Hotel at 9:30am. Tink”

We went to the GF and looked at the beautiful hotel and decorations and then checked in for breakfast. At the MK the other day, Ryan and Sean had been enamored with the princesses but Ryan was beside himself to meet Mary Poppins. He loves that movie and he just kept saying to her, “I love your movie.” You can see pics of him and her at the photobucket site I told you about on day 1. Breakfast was great. Loved the food selection and the characters were fun.

We got on the monorail and went to the Polynesian to look around for a bit. We skipped the Contemporary since I knew Tink was sending us there later and we’d been to the Wilderness Lodge our first night there. It was interesting seeing the hula lessons in the lobby. The boys laughed. We then walked the beach, back to the GF and loaded into the car. We were going to see the Epcot resorts and check out Beaches & Cream. We got parked, but discovered that B&C was closed for repainting. We also discovered that we could take a boat to Epcot, so we road over there so I could see if Dopey was out that day. Again, he was not, but the boys got to meet Jasmine and Aladdin. We decided to go back to MGM because I wanted to see the Narnia exhibit. Richard took the car back to the Cypress Palms and heated up some of the leftovers from Epcot while the boys and I took the boat to MGM. We met back up a little while later. The boys and I went to Narnia and waited about 30 minutes. I thought it would be a walk through sort of thing, so I held the boys back so we wouldn’t slow everyone else down. Turned out, you watch previews from the movie. I’m 5’2” and couldn’t see, so you know the boys couldn’t. Afterwards, I spoke with a CM and she took us back in so I could park the boys up front before the next groups came in. They were able to see the screen and we walked out with Ryan saying we had to go see it.

We met up with Daddy, saw the Millionaire show, and then walked through the Osborne Lights, which were crowded, but beautiful. The boys loved the snow. They both were starting to have runny noses, so I was so happy we’d already seen Fantasmic! and didn’t have to stick around. We were back at the room by 7:30pm for another night of very good sleep, after stopping at Walmart for some meds.

Day 8 - 12/11

Wow! What a day! I think I forgot to tell you about how much the boys loved watching Tink fly around Tinkerbell’s Treasures on our day at the MK. They just knew that she would leave there at night, come to deliver the tickets, and then go back to her store. Sean had been asking to go back, so I told him we would.

“You’ve been there once, but there’s much you haven’t seen! Go have breakfast with Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother! Tink

Off we went for an 8:05am ADR at Cinderella’s Castle. It was beautiful up there. We were the second family seated, so we had a window view and could look out on the park. Since it’s a plated meal instead of buffet, we finished quickly. The boys took pics with the princesses. Ryan loved seeing Mary again, in her red and white dress, and Sean really cozied up to Belle.

We then headed downstairs. Turned out, we were really early. It was only 8:40am, so we were standing at that rope with one other couple (both adults) and I’m wondering if the magic would be with us for the boys to wake up tink. Having read the antics of that event on this board, I wasn’t even going to tell the boys about that possibility. I told them that, when the rope dropped, they were to “walk”, NOT run, to Tink’s Treasures, so we could see Tink flying around the room. There were a few additional people when the CM dropped that rope, but no one headed to Tink’s treasures. We walked in and I asked if she’d been woken yet. The CM said no and gave both the boys a sword. She positioned them around Tink’s box and told them to tap it 3 times, while repeating “Wake up Tink.” They did and she did and I did (cry that is.) The looks on their faces... Remember me telling you that if half of what I’d wished for actually happened, and I got pictures, I’d be happy. I just couldn’t hold the tears in, anymore. I was so happy for them.

I guess I should tell you that, I’m the child of an alcoholic. We just didn’t do things like this when I was growing up. There were not magical moments, at least none that weren’t overshadowed by something else. So, yes, I guess you could say I’m reliving my childhood through my children. How I would have adored to wake up Tink as a young girl.

We stood and watched her for a bit and we all took turns watching her through the keyhole, also. We then set out for Adventureland since we hadn’t been there yet. We did the treehouse, Aladdin’s carpets and the Pirates of the Caribbean. Peter Pan was going to be out at 10:00pm, just across the way. Ryan was Peter for Halloween this year and our new puppy, who was sent to us from Heaven, by our beloved Leia, whom we lost to cancer in June, is named Petey. So we HAD to meet Peter. We got off the ride and DH and the boys walked to where Peter would be, to wait. I had to speak with the CM at the register and then I met up with them just before Peter and Wendy came out. Ryan and Sean loved it.

After doing the whole autograph/pic thing, I told them I needed to go to the potty, so we re-entered the POTC gift shop. The CM at the register finished ringing someone up, then turned to the boys and asked if they were Ryan and Sean. They said they were and she told them that Tink had just stopped by and dropped off two pirate guns for them. (What do you know? The boys had just been looking at those earlier!) Their mouths were on the floor. We headed to the Jungle Cruise and they played with the guns in line. We finished up Adventureland and headed to Big Thunder Mountain because Ryan wanted to ride again. WHAT? Sean and I waited and I got some great pics of Ryan with a huge smile and his arms in the air.

And then it happened. About the time we got to Liberty Square, it began to rain. Richard had watched the news and there was no mention of rain, so the ponchos were where? At the room. $26.00 later we had Mickey ponchos. Sean’s nose was really runny and he was developing a cough, so Richard and Sean went back to the room. Ryan and I grabbed lunch at Harbor House? I think that was it. Then we did Haunted Mansion. We made our way to Tomorrowland and rode what? SPACE MOUNTAIN! And Ryan’s response? THAT WAS AWESOME! Let’s do it again! This is the same child we were peeling his fingers off the railings at Star Tours, remember? LOL

We did Buzz and then Richard called to say that Sean wanted to come back and do the Indy cars again and Dumbo. I realized I had left me Dining Experience card at the castle that morning, so we met them at Dumbo, or we were going to. As we walked by the Sword and the Stone, I realized it was starting in a few moments, so Ryan and I waited. Merlin came out and signed a few autographs, since he said he was early. We chatted a bit and I called Richard to let him know where we were. They came over a little later, after they got off Dumbo. So the show is going and the rod is choosing. And, if happened. I didn’t think I could hold it in. Ryan got picked to be Temporary Ruler of the Realm. He was shocked and excited and I cried, again, as I took pictures. So glad Richard got there in time to see it. Sean was upset, but Ryan let Sean wear the medal for a bit, so that made him happy. I just couldn’t believe this day. Waking Tink, riding Space Mountain, and Temporary Ruler. Wow! See, tink’s magic really was working.

We went and rode the cars and then had to head out, as it was a MVMCP night and the park closed at 6:00pm. We grabbed Chili’s to go on the way to the room and slept like babies, dreaming of our magical day. And, also, sad, because it was to soon going to end.

I'm from Spring! Born and raised! Graduated from Oak Ridge HS...ok, I'm from north Spring, but still...its Spring.

I live in Orlando now, but I have to say that I like Space Center Houston better, too. More to do and just seems more interesting.

I think the bird shows elsewhere are better than at AK, so don't worry that you missed anything spectacular. (My dad was one of the original carpenters at the Texas Ren Fest and also headed the food stuff when it first opened way back when. I know some of the performers and vendors.)

Your enthusiasm as a park newbie is awesome! You really seem to "get it". You can't make magic happen, but if you let it, it will.

Now this is how its supposed to be. You are a wonderful pixie dust filled person and I hope those boys appreciate the magic you put in one day (of course for now it was all Tink) I got to wake up Tink with my DD5 this January and it is a very special moment when they can't believe their eyes as the light flashes round the room. So enjoying this report,

Thanks to everyone for your compliments. You are really sweet. I just did what I knew I would have enjoyed as a child. They lose that innocence way too quickly, these days.

Day 9 - 12/12

Well, by the evening, both boys had major coughs and runny noses. I knew this trip could not be perfect. Neither were running fevers, but I began giving them meds every 6 hours and watching Ryan closely. You see, Ryan has had 7 febrile seizures, most at temps of only 100 F. He now takes seizure meds because he has had 4 this year that are not related to fevers, including one a week before we headed on vacation. So, I told the boys that I didn’t know if Tink would know they were sick and we’d have to see what she was inviting us to do for Monday. Her ticket said:

“Today is a day of relaxation.
Go to the ocean and see what lives there.
Have a Magical Day!
Tink”

It was cold and we obviously were NOT going to the ocean. I really wish we could have. I had Junior Ranger books all printed and ready to go, but...

So what to do. We had ressies at Chef Mickey’s at 7:40am, so we went ahead and did that. We then decided to ride the monorail, which we had not really done, other than from TTC to MK. So we asked and were granted the wish of riding up front on the resort monorail. We rode it from the Contemporary to Grand Floridian, then moved to a different car so another family could ride up front, back to the Contemporary. Sean was about to burst, he was so excited with his co-pilots license and such. Being that he loves trains so much, it was perfect for him. We then headed to downtown Disney and saw Narnia. Remember, Ryan said after seeing the display at MGM that we HAD to go see it. Well, the movie was awesome. Followed the book almost perfectly! We loved it and it was great because hardly no one was in the theatre on a Monday morning. Afterwards, they boys said they were feeling better and it had warmed up a little, so we headed to Epcot so they could see Turtle Talk again. I finally forced myself to ride Mission: Space while they waited for Crush. What was I scared of? It was really neat and all, but I didn’t think it was as much fun as Space Mountain. Anyway, I headed back over to Crush and waited for them to come out. Turned out both boys got to speak with Crush that time, so they were happy. We had discussed riding Soarin’ again, but the wait was too long. We had also talked about riding the monorail from Epcot to MK, doing Buzz, cars and Space Mountain, but I swear, the temp had dropped 10-15 degrees since we arrived, so we elected to ride the monorail roundtrip and head back to the room. Turned out, we waited for one monorail and then we got to ride up front, all the way to MK. We headed back to the room and I began pulling out the clothes for the next two days and packing everything else. The trip was coming to an end and I was really sad.

Day 10 - 12/13

“I’m sending you back to the Magic Kingdom, but you’ll be very happy with my surprise. Be on Main Street at 9:45!
Tink”

Well, what on earth could that be about? We had breakfast in the room, then headed over to MK. We arrived just in time to see the train pull up with the characters and Mickey open the park. (We’d always been inside having breakfast at that time of day, so this was new) Once inside, I told them that I was going into the Town Hall to see if Tink had told them what we were doing and where we were suppose to be, while the boys helped Richard get the stroller for the day. I went inside, picked up our tickets for MVMCP that night and spoke with the CM about the Tinkerbell Golden Tickets. I then went next door and explained to the Family Magic Tour guide about the golden tickets and such, so he’d understand if my boys began talking about Tink inviting them and such. I also asked if he could deliver a small white envelope to them, at the end of the tour, after the other families had walked away. He said yes and took the envelope.

The tour was wonderful. I won’t go into here because I know people have already written extensive descriptions about it. My boys adored it. Ryan is very outgoing and talkative. He tends to overwhelm other children because he is so excited and passionate about what he talks about, but then adults seem to get a kick out of it. He was flying around that park, trying to solve the clues and talking to the tour guide. Both boys had a ball hopping and skipping and singing their way around, NOT IN THE STROLLER! They walked around the entire time! Never once wanting to ride in the stroller. Funny how they cannot walk 5 minutes with just their family, but you give them a clue to solve and they forget all about that stroller. I was so glad I had changed this (I mean Tink changed this) tour to this day instead of the first one. The boys would have been clueless if we hadn’t already spent several days in the Kingdom. They knew where the LGMs were, the wishing well, etc. At the end of the tour, Peter and Wendy showed up and took us to Mickey’s Philharmagic. Ryan and Peter talked during then entire show, while Sean sat holding Wendy’s hand. Afterwards, they boys and I were waiting outside the exit while Richard retrieved the strollers. I saw the tour guide come back out the door he had entered into, but just behind him was Peter and Wendy!!!!!! I just about fell over! Peter came and handed the envelope to Ryan and said that Tink had asked him to give it to the boys. Since we didn’t have the magnifying glass with us, I read it. It was getting pretty good at reading Tink’s writing, even without the glass. LOL It read:

“I hope you enjoyed your day, so far. You are invited to a Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom, for tonight! A jolly old man with a big round belly will be bringing some white stuff that falls from the sky! Meet Minnie for dinner, then head to the party.
Tink”

As I read it, I realized that I had cancelled the ADR at LTT due to a different plan for our evening. So I skipped that little section and no one was the wiser. Peter told Ryan he’d be in the parade and for Ryan to crow at him when he went by. See, I told you Tink was helping! I never imagined that Peter himself would do this for us. I know the characters are NOT to show any special treatment to any one child. Luckily, no one was around, but us.

I asked the boys if they wanted to stay all day and then go to the party, of if we should go back and rest for a while and then come back. Neither wanted to leave, so we grabbed some lunch and I think we went to Buzz again and probably the cars and Space Mountain. I know at 4:00pm I was in line to pick up our wristbands while Richard took the boys to Belle’s Story Time. Turned out you couldn’t pick up bands for others. So, I got mine and went to the show. Not planned and not even hoped for, but Ryan got picked to be Papa. This truly was magic. You just can’t plan that kind of stuff. Sean was upset because he wanted to be with Belle on stage, and refused to take a pic with her afterwards, because he was mad. We then went back to the rose garden, got their wristbands and went to eat dinner. I noticed Belle’s last show was starting, so he and the boys went back over. Sean didn’t get picked either, but he was fine, since Ryan didn’t either. Afterwards, he whispered in her ear that she did a great show. Richard said she got a kick out of that. After we ate, I headed over to get seats for the 6:45 Mickey show at the Galaxy theatre. Boy was there a line to get in! and it was only 6:15. I wound up getting seats on the left side, second row, so not bad. Once Richard and the boys arrived, Sean fell asleep and slept for the whole show. After, Ryan and I went and rode Astro Orbiter, since we hadn’t done that one yet and there was no line. Boy, was it cold up there!!!! We walked around a bit. Ryan danced the Hokey Pokey with Gepetto over in Fantasyland. We walked through Minnie and Mickey’s homes at Toon Town, since we had not gone through them before. We saw Belle’s Christmas Story and then I took the stroller with Sean sleeping in it and took position for the Holiday Wishes fireworks show. Richard and Ryan went and rode Space Mountain again. HEE HEE

They arrived just in time for the fireworks. We were positioned so that Tink would fly over our heads. I wish Sean had been awake, but he wasn’t. The fireworks were loud and woke him up just after Tink’s flight. We watched the rest and then I let Sean decide if we stayed for the 10:30 parade or headed back to the room. He chose to leave. I hated to miss it and I knew Ryan was upset that he wouldn’t be crowing at Peter Pan, but what could I do? I had asked so much of these two little ones and they had done so well for so many days. Sean was missing Petey the pup really badly and was about ready to go home to Texas to see him. So we went back to the room with the promise that we’d be with Petey, Sammy and Chewy by the following evening. We were in bed by 10:15pm awaiting our last day and waiting to see if Tink would be made we didn’t stay for the whole night.

Day 11 - 12/14

This is the last day. I’ve so enjoyed writing this report because I can relive everything again. Now the report is over, also. Getting Sean to sleep was a little rough last night because he’d had such a great power nap. Richard had fallen asleep on the couch and I woke him up and asked him to crawl into our bed and make sure Sean stayed there, since I needed to handle some things before I could go to bed. Well, I’m standing in their bathroom doing the Tink thing and who is standing at the door watching? Sean. I was setting up a small wooden treasure chest. I had purchased it at Michael’s, stained it Walnut color, then hotglued little multi-shaped, multi-colored gems around it. Inside were several strands of colored mardigras beads, all the extra loose gems, some of those chocolate coins and two eye patches. I sent Sean back to bed and finished what I was doing. I then layed in bed for about an hour trying to figure out how to get out of this one.

The next morning, Sean pipes up that he’s going to tell Ryan that Mommy was setting up the treasure chest. I told him that yesterday, Peter Pan had found me and given me the chest. That it was too heavy for Tink to carry and she wanted me to set it up. She flew in later and left the pirate patches (he hadn’t seen those) and the golden tickets, which read:

"I hope you have had a Magical time. I wish you could stay forever.
I have one more thing planned for you and it’s not with your parents!
Go to the Grand Floridian boat dock!!! Tink"

We had packed almost everything up the night before, after getting the boys to bed, so this morning was spent getting the final things packed and figuring out how to make everything fit into the rental car. My DH is really good at packing and once again, he did it. So we headed off to the GF. The boys thought that it had to do with pirate’s (hmmmm) so when we got to the guard station we told him we were there for the pirate thing and he let us in. Guess they were right. We went inside and found where we were suppose to go. I had purchased some disposable cameras, so I gave one to each boy, which was good. Sean had decided he wasn’t going anywhere without us, but once he had a camera, he was more than ready to go.

For the two hours they were cruising, we sat in the GF cafe with Jo and had coffee. After they came back (they LOVED it) we jumped on the monorail and went to the MK for a last minute goodbye. Sean and Richard stood in line for about 40 minutes to ride Dumbo. I took Ryan on Space Mountain and twice on Buzz. Then Richard and Sean came back. We did Buzz once more and rode the cars once and headed out of the park. We ran by DTD to pick up some pins. We were going to have Ghiardelli’s for lunch, but Sean fell asleep on the way there, so they just waited in the car for me. Off to the airport just to discover that Houston had been having terrible weather. Instead of flying out at 6:05pm, we left about 11:00pm. Had we known, we could have stayed an extra 3 hours at the Kingdom.

We all want to do back, but there are so many things I want the boys to see. I have several 18 day roadtrips planned and mapped out, so they can see the states and the amazing things that nature has to offer. So we’ll just have to see. My AP doesn’t expire until next December, so many we’ll figure out a way for the boys and I to drive over next September for a few days.

I hope you enjoyed reading about our trip. Had I gotten a picture with Dopey and no one gotten sick, it would have been Perfectly Perfect. Oh, and maybe no rain on the Animal Kingdom Day and that second half of the Epcot day.

Have a marvelous Christmas. Oh, and speaking of that, On Christmas morning, under the tree, will be a box with a tiny little scroll with a gold ribbon around it. Inside, there will be a Hallmark Tinkerbell lantern. It’s about full size and when you press the button, it lights up and plays a little magical tinkling sound. The scroll will read:

“Merry Christmas, Ryan and Sean!

Hope you both have Magical Memories that will last a lifetime. I sure do. We loved having you here! Have a
wonderful Christmas. Here’s something to help you remember that Magic can happen every day, if you work at it. Hope to see you again, really soon!
Tink
PS. The whole gang says hello! Belle sends kisses to both of you and Peter said he will crow an extra crow for you, Ryan. Oh, and Sean, Wendy said she loved watching the movie with you."

Thank you for your kind words. I truly hope that my boys will always think back on this trip and, even if they don't remember specifics, will have their chests swell with happiness at the thought. I'm having such withdrawals. We've discussed maybe the boys and I driving back in September. We homeschool, so we can go whenever, but the cost for tickets for the boys, room, food, etc. is definitely an issue. Then we thought maybe we'll wait for a few years so that the 4 year old will be tall enough for Space Mountain and such. I really want to be doing Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear right now. We had so much fun. I just cannot believe that it was as awesome as I'd imagined in my mind for those many months of planning. I was so prepared for something less than perfect, but we got very lucky.

Sure! I had so much fun coming up with the tickets and such. Wow. Thank you so much to everyone! Y'all are too sweet. Believe me, this was as magical for my DH and I as it was for the boys, even though we knew the truth. I still find myself crying, almost every day, that it's over. I lived Disney for so long, with the planning and all.

I have started planning our next family vacation. It'll be in early Spring, 2007. Houston to Grand Canyon, to Giant Sequoia National Monument, to Yosemite, to San Francisco, to Monterey, to Carmel, to Anaheim (DISNEYLAND) to San Diego and then home again. So, I'll be able to do some Disney stuff, but only for a few days.

I'm really tossing around the idea of going back to WDW this May or in September. I would need tickets for the boys and, of course, the money for the hotel... But, if I can figure out finances, I think we'll make a road trip for a few days. I know it won't be as magical, but boy, would I love to be on Space Mountain right now.

We'll see how it goes.

Have a wonderful day and, for those who have upcoming trips, I will pray that yours is as magical as our was. Just the thought of it fills my heart and makes tears come to my eyes.

Thanks to everyone for your sweet comments!

I've had several ask how I made the tickets, so here are the instructions. I am a scrapbooker, so if you are not and don't understand something, please please ask. I just assume everyone knows what embossing and such is.

Basically, I typed all the little messages in a word document at font size of 5 - Walt Disney Script font. I needed two tickets of everything, but could print 4 of each on a single piece of white cardstock, so I did, just in case I messed something up. (I used the cardstock because I knew I'd be scrapbooking the tickets, so I wanted them to be acid free. Everything I used to make them is archival safe.) I then cut around each little message, leaving about 1/4" of space from the message to the edge. Using a Versamark pad, I heat embossed just the edges, using a gold embossing powder.

Then, using gold cardstock, I cut out rectangles 2" x 1" in size. I used a small hole punch and punched semi-circles out of the corners, so it would look more like ticket. I ran all my little white retangles through a xyron (makes anything into a sticker) and put the sayings into the middle of the golden tickets. I then embossed the edges of the gold cardstock, with gold embossing powder. If you need a better picture of the tickets, let me know.

I am currently planning our trip to the West coast for 2007. I haven't started making things yet, but it's basically going to be the Amazing Race. An 18 day road trip and each morning they'll have to locate their pass for the day and figure out where or what they are suppose to be doing. I've got a year to work on that. LOL

It's called the Family Magic Tour. Call Disney before they close and see if they have any openings for your dates. I believe they limit the tour to about 20 people or so. We had a blast! If your son hasn't been there, I'd recommend doing it on a day after you've already been there for a day. I was glad we'd spent several days at the Magic Kingdom because Ryan knew where some of the things were that we were suppose to be looking for.

You meet just inside the MK gates at 9:45. Tour leaves at 10:00am and ends about 12:30pm, I believe. Peter Pan has stolen Captain's favorite hook and the tour group must follow Peter's clues to find it. In the end, Peter and Wendy take the kids to see Mickey's Philharmagic or some other thing. It was a blast. I think it runs about $25.00 per person. If you have an AP, you do get a discount.

I'm pretty sure you just call the regular number. I think I only called WDW-PLAY for the pirate cruise and the wishes cruise.

Hope you are able to get in on one. Have a blast!!!!

First of all i need to say that you are an inspiration! WOW the thought you put into it all and the detail, i am speechless ! i am also sobbing through the whole report at how lucky those boys are to have you as a mom, and also hats off to you for taking a troubled childhood turning it around and making an unforgetable one for your boys!

now i can follow you directions pretty well but i am more of a visual person, i tried following the link you had posted previously for the tickets photo, would you happen to have another pic that you ould send me?

and again you are an amaziong woman all around!

LOL

Thanks! I guess I deleted the ticket picture at some point, not thinking anyone would be reading this trip report this far past. Here is a pic I took this morning. If you need it clearer, I can certainly take one with my other camera and the macro lens. This was a quick one. If you look at the layouts, this one is on the bottom corner of the Crystal Palace layout. You can get a better idea of the ticket size, that way.
