When I was taking Sociology our professor said that 'The Golden Girls' (reruns) largest audience was actually female college students.

My roommate and I always watch 'The Cosby Show.' I was just wondering if anyone else watched any of these show, or shows like it?

I guess if you included shows we watch on the Disney Channel (which is on ALL the time) you could include Boy Meets World.

My sister and I, plus a friend of ours and his family, are the BIGGEST Golden Girls fans you will ever find, truly. I don't think we can have a normal conversation without quoting them every other sentence. "Shady Pines, Ma!"
"Back in St.Olaf..." :rotfl:

Speaking of the GG, I remember one joke they made that mentions Disney.

Dorothy: "Blanche, I have a date tonight, I'm borrowing your earrings, if that's ok."
Blanche: "Fine, but, I must warn you, those were meant for petite ears."
Dorothy: "Then these'll just have to do until Disney unveils their Dumbo line."
:rotfl2:

My other favorite classic is I Love Lucy, because, who doesn't love Lucy?

Cosby, Facts of Life, Diff'rent Strokes, Full House, Boy Meets World, What's Happenin', Cheers....love them all. There's so many great classic shows that it would take me ages to list them all on here.

Golden Girls is definately my fave! My best friend actually goes to St. Olaf in Minnesota too...coincidence? :teeth:

But a lot of other older shows are still great! I like MASH, Cheers, and all those 90's Nickelodeon shows like Salute Your Shorts, Clarissa Explains It All, Are You Afraid of the Dark, and Legends of the Hidden Temple (even that's a contest thingy)

*Sigh* The good old days of TV. Why can't they just create a seperate channel for all the shows that I have mentioned? :confused3 I know we all would love it. :cloud9: I know they have Guts, Legends and Figure it Out on the Nick GAS channel, so I watch those often, but bring back the other shows!

Wow, I never really knew how much TV I watched until I wrote this post. :rotfl:

Double Dare! I completely forgot about that TV show. My friends and I would always pick our favorite team at the beginning of the show, my goal was to be on that show when I got older. Too bad it wasn't around when I was finally old enough!

Does anybody remember a show with people and elephants...there were like 3 hosts and a couple of elephants and they sang and danced....maybe I am mistaken. :confused3 Let me know if anybody remembers.

I think I know what you're talking about but I could be wrong. At the end of the show, was there a song that started out and forgive the bad spelling "skinamarink-de-de-dink, skinamarink de-do, I love you, etc...." If that is the show you're talking about, I can't think of the name right now. If not, well, there's another classic show. :p

That was the ELEPHANT SHOW!! That's the actual title of the show, I think. I had a big discussion with my friends about that show not too long ago. I can only remember the elephants and that song and something about a spider web? Gee, kinda sounds like a nightmare doesn't it  But yeah, that show is way back in the corner of my memory...

Thanks to everyone who posted info on the Elephant show...now that you mentioned it all the memories of the show are coming back to me, especially the "skinamarink (sp)" song.

Anybody remember the little "side" shows they had on Nick, such as "The Offbeats," "The Space Between Mr.Frear's Ears", "Maya the Bee," and "Flexi and Jam" ?

And who could forget FACE on Nick Junior and the good old Stick Stickley!! :teeth:

Wild and Crazy Kids,

Double Dare (I always thought it was so cool how they used to slide into the humongous ice cream sundae thing at the end of the shows)

The Journey of Allen Strange

The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo (eh, this one was ok, not the best)

RUPERT

Tin-Tin

Rocko's Modern Life

Gullah Gullah Island

What Would You Do

1990's Nickelodeon was amazing.

And, of course, one of the best shows of all time, Dinosaurs!

I bet we've all had nightmares as little kids because of that show at one point or another...to a little 8 year old kid, those things seemed scary back then!

Do you remember from Are You Afraid of the Dark the guy who was in a lot of the episodes...he owned the magic shop. His name was Sardo (pronounced Sah-do, "No Mister, accent on the do .") LOL, I loved when he said that all the time. :teeth:

Salute Your Shorts used to be shown on the channel known as the-n sometime around 2002-2003...same with Clarissa and Pete and Pete.

Guts and Legends of the Hidden Temple and Figure it Out are still on the Nick GAS channel.

I watched a few episodes of Camp Anawana earlier this week that my friend had taped back when the show was still on air...I saw the episode where Michael is replaced by Pinsky, the episode where they do the play, and the episode where junk food is outlawed and Donkey Lips and Sponge secretly try to get cheeseburgers for the whole camp.

:rotfl: ooh my gosh, you guys...I feel 8 years old again! Are You Afraid of the Dark? had the freeakiest theme song, didn't it? *shudder* :)...Fraggle Rock I absolutely looooved!! And I was just thinking about the Legend of the Hidden Temple game the other day and trying to remember the name of it! That was a great one!! But I can't remember...was that the same one w/ the guy from Tales of the Crypt and the "fireball alley" ("Are you ready for...FIREBALL ALLEY?!") Wow..yah, I could go on, but they've almost all already been mentioned.
As far as "classic" tv (the OP)...I used to watch I Love Lucy quite a bit...I love The Cosby Show...
and another 90s show that I don't think has been mentioned yet: Sabrina the Teenage Witch...they have that on "the N" now...it's great.
Aaah, yes, gone are the days of TGIF, cartoons that actually made sense and had a moral  , and good kid game shows...
Great thread. :teeth: By the way, I'm Danielle. I'm not sure if I've actually posted on this board until now...everytime I've looked it's all only been about CP stuff.
