Is the sleigh sleigh ride at Fort Wilderness worth it? We were reading info on it in our DVC magazine and it sounds cool. Has anyone been on it before? Thanks!

There is a sleigh ride that goes from Wilderness Lodge toward Fort Wilderness. It is 30 minutes long and it is a sleigh mounted on a wagon base. The route is through the woods part way to Fort Wilderness. We have done it twice and enjoyed it. You may take hot chocolate on the trip. They also have carriage rides at Fort Wilderness and also a hay ride.

Does the sleigh ride run in January too or just December?

We did the sleigh ride last year on Christmas Eve. We picked up hot cocoa first to take along. We loved it! They give you a blanket to share ( which we needed because it was cold). They take you along a wooded trail next to WL. We have been to WDW many times and I was looking for something we had never done before to add to the trip. I was very glad I decided to give this a try. I thought it was very reasonable too (I think it was $30 plus tip). If you decide to do it, call soon for ressies. When I first called about 30 days prior it was sold out, I kept trying and was very excited to get it for Christmas Eve like I wanted! When we were waiting for our ride many people saw the sleigh and wanted to find out about getting a ride only to be dissapointed to find out they needed a ressie and there were none. Also, the driver offered to take our picture when we were first seated. I'm so glad we had our camera with us, as the picture turned out great!

How many adults would the sleigh ride hold?

Four. We are family of four (DD was 16 & DS 18 at the time). We fit very well without being crowded. There would have been enough room for two small children as well. Hope this helps.
