We are actually in the Annapolis area but can someone give me an approximate for how long this took you?
I am talking about the last week in November.
Thanks in advance,
Jen

Hi! I live in St. Mary's County - we travel across the Potomac River Bridge (Route 301) and pick up 95 around King's Dominion. If we travel within 10 miles of the speed limit, stop only for gas and fast food then we can make it there in 13 to 14 hours. Of course, any traffic delays or busy weekends this can take longer! We always take the bypasses around Richmond and Jacksonville.

Lately, we have been getting really good rates out of BWI on Southwest. We were scheduled to fly down on 13 September for a long weekend..... We have another trip scheduled in November flying on Southwest....

JenB: do you mean how long a flight is from BWI to Orlando or how long it takes to drive from Annapolis to Orlando? A direct flight is a little over 2 hours in the air. I've never driven, but would guess it would be at least 15 or so hours (this a really a guess on my part, hopefully someone who has driven can give you an answer based on their experience).

It took us 15 hours to drive, and 2 hours to fly from BWI or IAD. If you're driving, it goes without saying to leave early enough to avoid DC area rush hour. From Baltimore, I'd leave no later than 4:30 AM.

If you are willing to fly, we have always been able to get great prices, although I'm sure that will all change now. I've never paid more than $150 for a RT.

Thanks guys. That was extremely helpful. We already have tickets to fly, but I was checking out my options. I think the fear of flying is still less than the fear of being trapped in a car with my kids for 13-15 hours :p
We are booked with US Air who has cut their schedule significantly. I am assuming I still have tickets
Thanks again.

We usually drive, and it takes us 17-18 hours. (We live in Columbia.) We've done it by driving all night, leaving about 6PM and arriving about noon the next day, or in one LONG day and one short day.
