We are confirmed! Got on about 6:05 California time and 15 minutes later we were booking our reservation. It took the drama out of last Member Cruise when we were on the wait list. Looking forward to our third Member Cruise. I know it will be awesome. It would be great if Roy Disney is one of the speakers. Mark, count us in for the buttons again if you are going to make them. It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife last time.
Thank you, Lisa and Michael :cool1:

Call LOST at 11:03. According to my phone call time was TWO HOURS and I never got a human.
I will be complaining. I don't expect them to do anything but that was inexcusable. My call was lost in thier system which then hung up on me! (And since it was on my cell I have the call log to prove it!)

OK. Called back at 11:40 and got what I wanted. Category 9... I did mention that I was on HOLD for TWO hours and asked the CM to pass it on, but I got the feeling that she wasn't. So Monday I will call and find someone to complain to. There was a problem with the phone system and they need to fix it!

We atarted calling on 2 phones just before 6am and kept getting busy signals. Called like this for 2 hours. We're @ DL trying to enjoy the Christmas decorations, etc. and took time out of our short trip to keep calling. Finally decided to go on to the park, but kept calling on my cell. I got through and was put on hold at 8:50PT. I was on hold for 2 hrs and 45 minutes when my cell phone battery died! (It was charged when I left the room) I know this is a fair way of booking, but it's very disappointing. This is the first member event of any kind we've been able to participate in.

I started calling at 8:59. I didn't get through until 9:17. Then when I pressed option 3 for member services there was nothing on the line, no music, no voice, nothing. I was just about to hang up and try again when Kevin, bless his heart, LOL, answered. YAY! We are cat 9 room 2612. I can't wait. I booked my brother and SIL into our cabin just to hold the spots because I figured it was worth $75 modification to give someone else the chance to come with us even if they can't. MarkRG
12-05-2005, 08:44 PM
About 4pm, a couple hours longer than last time. I'd chalk the difference up to the phone system screwing up and the fact the people answering had to read this really long decription of the cruise to everyone calling in. Average time actually booking(from the time of actually gettting to a person to confirmation) was about 15-20 minutes.
Actually getting thru was an hour or more.

MS told me today that the wait list is very short and given that the cruise is 11 months away they feel quite confident we'll get in...............so we will see.

Well, I wish you luck. I'm sure there will be some backers out before the final deadlines. There were people who made it from the waitlist last time.

I made it on in a Cat 11, 7629. It took 45 minutes before I got through, 30 minutes of the 800 number and 15 minutes of the 407 number. Wait time was about 25 minutes with an additional minute or so of dead air. About 10-15 minutes to book once I started to talk to someone. I look forward to sailing with everyone.

That reading of all that stuff freaked me out! In my mind I could see my category filling up--I even asked if he was looking for my stateroom while reading. He say no--he was required to complete the intro before going to another person to check my request.

This happened with me too. she was reading all this and i said I JUST WANT MY ROOM! she laughed and said don't worry, there were plenty left. I didn't get through til almost 10:30 so i was sure there were none left in what i wanted. :cloud9:

Hi everyone
Late posting this, but I just got back from WDW late on Monday. We got a cabin for SSMC06! Cat 6, Deck 6 Cabin 6542! Requested late seating for dinner. It's me, DH and DD (who will have just turned 17).
There clearly was something going wrong with their phone system though. Since I was in WDW, I had DH and DD calling in that morning. They got on hold after about a 1/2 hour. When I called DH he had been on hold for a little over an hour.
I decided to try calling in myself. I got on hold right away and to a CM in about 15 minutes. Booked our cabin and was done in about 40 minutes. I called DH back to tell him and HE WAS STILL ON HOLD. So his total hold time was about 2 hours and he had been hearing music and the recording saying what he needed the whole time...no dead air.
Really made me kind of upset that the system clearly does NOT put callers in a queue based on the order in which their calls were received.
All that effort and time on DH's part just wasted. :sad2:
CarolA
12-09-2005, 02:57 PM
I sent DVC an email about the queue problem which as far as I could tell the didn't actually READ!!!
The email CLEARLY stated that I had finally gotten thur and got the cruise booked. Thier response suggested I call for the wait list!!! SHEESH!
I think maybe a phone call or letter to someone higher might work? I may try to do that next week.

HI..hoping some kind person will indulge me with some answers about DVC cruises. We are brand new DVC owners, having bought after our 8th Disney Cruise last month, so we did not, of course, receive notice of this member's cruise. Our guide told us DCL was not a good value use of our points, that cash was better, and that there were no DCL discounts for DVC members. Can someone tell me if there is a special cash price/point rate for the DVC members cruise? Is the ship reserved exclusively for members or will they sell passage to others if the ship doesn't fill? When is the member's cruise, and how far in advance notice did you have to book?
Thank you in advance for your patience and tolerance...we might want to do this next year!

Can't answer all your questions but I just bought DVC in Jan and I called about 2 weeks ago about the member cruise and was put on the waitlist. I just got a call yesterday and a spot for me came open!! :cool1: The points chart is on the member website under special events.
