Hi,
I don't have the long one myself, but I teach Knifty Knitter at Mike's. With the board you can make really nice, thick, double sided strips. Beautiful for really warm scarves, or several long panels together make a nice afghan. The Provocraft website may have other patterns, and a search of "knitting boards" may turn up some other things. I have to say I prefer the round Knifty Knitters. They can do pieces in the round or flat. But there is a right and wrong side, not both pretty like the board.
Good Luck with it!
