*New DVC/DIS January meet list* sign up! *LIST*

I was thinking it would be nice to do a meet at VWL, since this is a great time for decorations there. What does everyone think? Maybe Iron Spike room or in front of the big fireplace in the lobby? The tentative date is January 6th, since that was the time most could attend from the original thread. I am thinking maybe 2 until about 4:00. We would keep it very casual and folks could come and go as they chose. We had a great visit last December, and it would be fun to do it again.

Let me know your thoughts, and sign up here. Maybe tell me how many are attending too.

I'll be there. Either room is fine with me. The lobby might be easier for everyone to get to. My DH and I will probably be the ones meeting. Our children that are coming with us are grown and I would guess that they will be off doing something.

Oh I'm so going to try and make it. Writing it on my intinerary now . . .

Funny Delta/Song called me today to see if we would change our flight on the 5th to later in the day - ah no! Last year on the Thursday before the Marathon we were the first Song flight scheduled to leave that a.m. and we had a good snow fall so we were really delayed and I think the only Song flight out that morning so I'm not getting bumped!!

I'll probably have my DH, and two little boys with me at the least.

This will be perfect. We'll have lunch at the Plaza Restaurant at the MK at noon. Then I can take the boat over to VWL from MK to the Iron Spike Room or DVC lobby (not the main lobby, correct?) We're making an early day of it on the 6th because of the half marathon and 5K the next day.

We will try and make it. We are meeting a group of DIS marathoners over at Trails End a little later so this might work out for us. Any excuse to get to the Lodge works for us ;)

BTW, we are at the Lodge right now. Cant wait to see it again in Jan. Looking forward to meeting some fellow DVCers/DISers!!

We'll have the afternoon free before the DIS marathon meal at Trail's End too so we'll try and get there. Our big thing to accomplish that day will be packet pick up at the Expo. Mom, sis, and I will be attending. Thanks for putting this together. We will be staying at VWL for the first time im May for the FL Half Ironman weekend.

I've been waiting for this thread to pop up again. The DH and I will definately be there!! Our plane lands that morning around 10 AM so this is perfect for us. And with AP's it's no big deal to leave a park and then go back. Isn't Disney great?!

I have a subscription to this thread, so I'll keep a running tab and will bump it up occationally to get the most views. We had a good time meeting and visiting last December at SSR, so I hope we have as much fun this time. Nothing spectacular planned, but just fun to put faces to names and get to chat a bit. We might even have a few surprises! :teeth:

The Iron Spike room is just a nice lounge area off the Villas lobby. There are a few of Walt Disney's model trains (and a nice fireplace) in the room. Thus the Iron Spike. Nice big sofas and chairs to sit in, just a comfy place. Your kids will be fine. Plus we can compare their photos on the DIS with how they really look now!! The Christmas tree may still be in the main villa lobby, plus they can check out the hidden Mickeys in the room. And the rocking chairs are fun to sit in.

Sometime between 2-4. I think if we leave it open ended like that, folks can drop in as they can. We'll be there by 2, but don't feel you MUST leave by 4 unless you have other committments. We have ADRs for Cape May at 5:30 or so.

I know, but last time it seemed that way too, and we had lots more show up than I was expecting. Let's hope that happens this time too so it isn't a couple of us taking time out of our day to wait for a lot of folks who don't show.

A week and a day for us. I can't wait. Now that Chrimstas is over we can start foucusing on what we need to do to get ready. I was pretty excited yesterday during the parade. We taped it and wacthed it twice in a row. (we were pretty busy opening toys the 1st time.) ;)

It was so great meeting everyone. This was a great idea and we need to do this again. Plus the Iron Spike Room was ideal, plenty of room and we didn't bother anyone else, nor did anyone else bother us.

Hi everyone. Just got back from our trip. I remembered the meet that morning and was planning to go, but as the day went on forgot about it! :sad1:

I was planning on meeting another Dis member at 10:30 at MK and I remembered that (but never found her at the meet space.) However DD did make some friends with some girls and by chance we ended up spending the whole day with them. I forgot about the meet until that evening! So sorry everyone. I hope everyone had tons of fun. :goodvibes

So sorry I missed everyone. I unfortunately got sick on our trip and spent a day and a half in bed. Didn't think anyone wanted to be around me. I didn't want to be around me much either. Hope everyone had a great visit. We loved the Villas. Just a few maintenance things, light bulb, garbage disposal, etc, but they came right away and fixed everything. Thought it was better to let them know than have the next person have to call.

I am SO SORRY I didn't make it. Had every intention of being there, had it on my little list of things to do and with our huge party for Marathon Weekend it totally slipped my mind until about 4:00 that day. I really wanted to put faces to names. We had a great 7 nights at OKW and 2 nights at Wilderness Lodge, okay it was way too cold for the marathon weekend, last year we were sweating. Already planning next trip . . . hope everyone had a great trip as well.
