Will be at Vero this November. Hubbie is not a beach person. Any suggestions for fun things to do?

I personally think a massage is always a good idea....
Another fun thing is to take the tour of the Piper aircraft factory. It's pretty neat to see them making the planes, and it's free. You do need reservations, though. The resort can give you the info you need.

We spent time in Vero Beach over the summer!!! Had a great time at the resort and also visiting the local areas............eating at some of the local restaurants. The resort has listings of all the local restaurants..........Have a great trip.

Are you a couple or a family? Can you think of what you would like to do? Then we can tell you how/if it's available!

Just up the road is KSC, and it is well worth the time to tour and see. One of the buildings you are able to go inside and see in is the Space Statation Modular Assembly. While we were there in July, they were working on the Itialian section. If your hubbie likes fishing, we also went on several guided fishing trips for Tarpin on the Indian River and went deep sea fishing. We cought 3'-4' long Cuda, Tarpin, and large King Fish. Now these trips can be expensive, but boy are they fun!!!
My husband and daughter loved the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Research Center tour. Fishing, ocean or river cruises, golf, bike riding, nature centers, citrus growers have outlets where they can ship fresh fruit natioanwide, huge outlet mall for shopaholics lots of kids programs at the resort. Huge pool with a neat waterslide, big whirlpool, sauna, campfires, stargazing on some nights (with telescopes), and perhaps a chance to see a shuttle launch as we did, from the beach. :) It is a very nice place.
Try http://verobeach.com for information. have a great trip!

We went to Mel Fisher's Treasure shop. He is the guy who found sunken treasure off the Fl. coast. Definitely check into a river cruise. The manatees may be back in Fl. waters by Nov.

We took DS down to the Navy SEALS Museum in Ft Pierce--he is still talking about it!
There is a lot to do ther, relaxing is a priority, the pool, lawn games, you can rent bikes, play putt-putt, rent movies, campfires at night. Mostly we love it because it FORCES you to slow down and relax!
The biggest drawback we found was that the menus seemed a little limited, and we ate in town most nights.
Still, we can't wait to go back for 3 nights before we cruise on the Magic next summer.

If you want a special dinner out try the Black Pearl Restaurant. Some nights there are lower early bird rates - about $15 to $18 per meal from 4:30 to 5:30. Later in the evening prices are higher. The food selection, presentation and wait staff are excellent. Best for adults. probably not appropriate for kids. It is at #4445 Rt A1A. Left out of the DVC Vero resort about 4 miles south. Indoor and outdoor dining. Restaurant is on a canal.
