I know this is OT, but I've been hearing of e-mails goin' round urging American's to buy stock. I checked into this and it's a way of showing support for our country and, in this case, our fav. company. I bought my share this morning. Not much I know, but I wonder if anyone else will do this? What do ya'll think? It's at $19.50 right now. I know one isn't much, but it's my show of support.

I would love to do this, but have no idea how. I am not very investment savy and don't have a stockbroker or anything. Is there any easy way?

Well, I opened a Buy and Hold account. Go to Buyandhold.com. It was easy to open up and didn't cost me anything (I'd set it up through Disney awhile back, as I already had a share). It should be easy to set yourself up and purchase. I'm no savvy either. Stocks and stuff...it's all Greek to me.

Go to Buyandhold.com and sign up there. I think you might also be able to
sign up with etrade.com, but I'm not sure if they charge a fee.

I think you can go to Disney's website and go to the investor relations section at the bottom under "Inside the Company". I think I saw something in there about buying a share or two. However you do it, it greatly helps and at this time Disney is really hurting big time. People are cancelling their reservations like crazy -- probably due to fear of flying. Disney stock is so far down now it is a great time to buy and at the same time it might help save some Disney Cast Members jobs. The way things are going with attendance and stock prices, if every person on this board bought some Disney stock, it would be fantastic!! Also, make your 2002 reservations! The Company needs our help for sure.

It might be too late. I read on another board that Disney let their temp and part-time workers go. I don't know if it's true but if it is, I wonder how this will affect Disney. Trivial stuff right now but I'm just curious. Does anyone know if this layoff actually happened?

Buy, buy, buy. The time has never been better. You will not only be helping our economy bounce back, but will possibly be saving many CM jobs.

One way is to buy stock right from Disney.... they can do a monthly deduction from your checking account. Go to:
http://disney.go.com/corporate/investors/stockinfo/howtoinvest.html
for more details!

These are all excellent ways to buy a single share of Disney stock. There's also a program called Buy-a-Share which allows you to buy a single share of top U.S. stocks framed. It makes for a nice gift and can be hung for display. If you'd like the link email me and I'll forward it to you.

I just bought one share of stock with the certificate in a frame for my daughter and then did the Sharebuilders through Memolink. What exactly does it mean when you buy the stock. Do you get something in the mail. Also, if you want to buy additional shares later, do you have to do it through the same company (ie Sharebuilders)? How do you keep track of how much you have and what it is worth? Sorry, but I'm a novice.

This is GREAT! Imagine if we could get everyone who visits this site to
buy one share. That'd be great. I mean, every little bit helps right? I think
I'm going to make this a regular thing. With Buy and Hold, you can set up your account
so that it automatically buys for you every day, week or month. It's really easy. Right now,
it's really cheap. So it's easy to buy a share, but as the stock goes up, you could just be putting money into your account and when you have enough for a share, they'll buy it for you.
So, keep it up guys.

Great job - keep it up! We can all go and meet at the Shareholders Meeting too!

What is the cost to purchase stock (not the stock price)? I was going to purchase through OneShare, but didn't want to pay $38 for an $18 share! If someone can give details and procedures, I would appreciate it. I've never purchased stock.
