Here we are back in NY..

My family & I were in Disney WorlD ( Magic Kingdom) on September 11th When an announcement came over the PA system that the park was "Now Closed"I asked a nearby cast member what was going on & all I got was " I cannot say, but it is really bad go back to the hotel & watch your tv" OKAY>>>>>so we all headed toward the buses back to the ASM. My husband & I were angry & cursing Disney & our "BAD LUCK" , you see it rained really hard on Monday our 1st day there & we got lost trying to find the hotel So my Husband muttered "Lord, what did I do to deserve this vacation from HELL???) AS we got on line there was several "opioins" about what was happening one was someond died on a ride, another was the Hurricane coming and of course a bomb threat. after waiting on line fow about 20 minutes (they did a great job, getting us outta there) A man on line hung up his cell phone & said "Oh my God two terrorist planes hit the WTC, the pentagon was hit also" My husband collapsed to the floor and I grabbed our 3 year old son and held him tight

You see, my Husband John works on the 98th floor of the Second Tower, we were spared in this nightmare, My brother in law and a dear friend along with several others are among the missing.
I thank God everyday I am not going to be raising our children , a 3 year old and the one we are expecting in March ALONE.
WE are heading to my husbands sisters house in a few hours to hold her hand while she waits for the phone to ring...and for her soon to be born grandchild who will be here any second.
Please. please Pray for our family & friends...I know you willl

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts & Prayers. It truly was a vacation from Heaven.God Blessed us with his greatest blessing now I pray he keeps me & my husband strong through this ordeal.

On a lighter note, the resturant outside of the Haunted Mansion (for the life of me I cannot remember the name) it is in liberty sguare and you are facing it when you are walking off of the HM , any way the GREATEST New England clam chowder in a bread bowl I have ever had!!!!! They have chile in a bowl as well YUMMM

& I gotta say Dumbo is SCARY!!!! I hate hights!

is Columbia House and they do make great chili and chowder that go in those bread bowls.....AND I agree about the heighth of Dumbo.....hugs to you

Amazing how the angels are watching over us when we least expect it. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family.

On a lighter note, my first ride with my DD last fall was Dumbo. My DH captured the expression on my face as I pushed the lever up as far as it would go. I'm not a big fan of heights! DH proceeded to ride it ONE time and then said he'd never do it again. The big chicken was afraid that he'd fall out! :D

As a fellow long islander I really am happy to hear that your family was on vacation. It has been 11 days now and my heart hurts more today then it did the day before. I am a teacher in a big school district and it seems that most of the kids have a sad story about a family member or friend of the family who is missing. It was so nice to hear the happy part of you story. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
