How many pics in a 512mb memory card?

i love to take pictures - always
take my camera where ever i go -

I just bought me a 512mb memory stick
for my Sony 4.1 DCS40 digital camera.
How many pics will it hold -
please give me information - because i know that if you put it in certain settings it can take lots and/or little bit pictures. Please give me the differance?

I use a 128 MB card and when I turn the camera on it says it will hold 107 photos. I have gotten as many as 172. It depends on whther you are shooting day, night, color intensity of your subject and other variables. . .

On my canon a80 (4mp), I can only get about 90 HQ pics from my 256mb card.

I have a Sony cybershot as a back up camera and it is 5mp. With 512mb, I can get 204 photos at the highest quality setting. Cameras vary depending on the different settings you can adjust, but your camera should tell you when you put the card in and turn it on, every Sony I had did.
