Hello everyone
I am planning a honeymoon for me and my future wife and i was wondering if anyone had any tips or must see's.
We are travelling from the UK and are staying for 3 weeks. I have penciled in to stay at the Animal kingdom lodge any opinions on this would be great. We want to stay in a Disney resort.
Any help would be great!!!

3 weeks in a hotel room is not my ideal of fun.
you might consider renting points from a DVC member and staying at VWL. A 1-bedroom is definitely more expensive than a studio - however for a 3 week stay it might be worth it.
you can also stay at BCV, BWV, SSR and OKW besides VWL on DVC points.
all are romantic just depends upon what you and your future wife think of as romantic
here are some pictures

you would be renting a reservation - points are how you get the reservations. tell your dates and I will see how much each resort would cost you for a studio and 1-bedroom.

all dvc resorts are WDW resorts.
the VWL is attached to Disney's WL
same for the BCV, and BWV
both OKW and SSR are unattached and are in the DD area of WDW.
However if you need to save money - Pop Century are okay - but 3 weeks in one might be more than a little tight.

Are you hiring a car?
Are you spending all 3 weeks in Orlando?
Myself and my DH spent 3 weeks on honeymoon in Florida last September and spent the first 10 days travelling around went to Fort Lauderdale, Keys, Marco Island then spent the rest of the time at a Port Orleans Riverside.
I'm sure whatever you decide you will have a fantastic time we did!

I would go with WL or Polyn (the Polyn is much more expensive).
the Polyn is on the monrail. So you have easy excess to the MK and Epcot. You can walk over to the TTC for the Epcot monrail.
the AKL is bus service to everything.
WL has boat or bus to MK, bus service everything else. there is also a boat to FW and Cont.
If you want a great pool then BC. You can walk or boat (walking is faster) to Epcot and Studios.
romantic (my opinion)
Polyn
WL or AKL
tips - the fireworks cruise can be very nice, both Polyn and WL have nice sit down restuarants, room service is pretty romantic, walking along the beach between the Polyn and GF, just walking at night through Polyn - torch lite,
tell us where you are staying.
in the parks please remember there are camera / security personal everywhere. Just because you think you are alone doesn't mean you aren't being watched....
that say - I rose garden close to the castle at MK.
the canadian gardens, Japanese garden at Epcot are both nice.

Thanks for the info on the resorts it was greatfully accepted. Thanks for the info about the cameras as well hehe!!!!!
We have been talking long and hard and are stuck between the WL, AKL, BC and PLOYN.
If anyone has any more info on these resorts that would be great. For your info at the moment we are siding with the BC and POLYN. Do you get lagoon view rooms with the BC? We would like to have a room from which we can see the fireworks at night if that is possible??
Thanks again

Hi Trevor. You really can't see fireworks from the BC, but you can from certain rooms at the Poly. :flower:

you can see the Epcot fireworks from BC rooms. not the lagoon view - the standard rooms along the side facing Epcot.
that say I would go with a lagoon view - these views are lovely.....at the Polyn you will probably get a view of the castle, at the BC you will get a view of the BW all lite up at night. It is lovely.

get the wedding mickey and minnie ears. yes, you'll feel like a complete dork the first few minutes, but after you're handed free beer, you won't care. but seriously, we wore the ears for our 2.5 week honeymoon, and got sooooooo many nice Congrats and little extras from CM's (from the aforementioned free beer to being the Grand Marshalls of the AK Parade).
but most important, do research to find out what's available, don't think that you'll get everything done even in 3 weeks, go to the Tambu Lounge for a drink at the Poly, and HAVE FUN!!!

if you're booked at the hawaiian building (that's the poly's conceirge) they have the most amazing views of the MK. you can also see the electic water pageant at night, and i beleive the other monorail resorts. when you book, just request a lagoon view. it'll be extra $$, but if you don't want to risk not being upgraded from a standard view, then its worth it. check out tikiman's site: http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/ for all you'd need to know about the poly.
we were in our mid 20's when we had our wdw wedding, but we saw folks there twice our age that the ears as well. just wear them to be fun, don't wear them expecting free stuff.

you can also see the fireworks from Tahiti - my favorite!!!
It has a pretty wonderful view of the castle as well.
however that say - lagoon view, at the Polyn, are expensive.
so you can just get a standard view and go out and sit on the beach - they have swings...to watch the fireworks.
here is a post about yc/bc

I suggest you split your stay between two or more Disney resorts. We love the Boardwalk Inn and had a great view of the Epcot fireworks from our room in June. You can split your stay between, for example, an Epcot resort (Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club) and a MK resort (Poly, GF, CR). Maybe you can also add the AKL.
Disney will take care of moving your luggage from one resort to another so you can just have your bags picked up that morning and head to a theme park and then on to your next resort.
I think this would make your honeymoon very special.....congratulations!!!!

you can see most of EWP from the Tahiti too.
but it is best to go to the beach to see this.
it was pretty big - so to see the entire thing you need to be on the beach.
it is every night at 9pm - except with the fireworks are at that time. then there is around a 5 to 10 min delay after the fireworks are over.
sometimes the EWP is at 8:55pm or 9:05pm - they allow that varation.
only lagoon views at the Polyn can see both the fireworks and EWP.
I think also some of the rooms at the GF can do both.
cont you only see the fireworks or EWP - different sides of this resort.
you can also see this from WL beach at 9:30 or 9:35.
have fun planning!
