Here's some answers for the questions regarding my Lilo & Stitch pages. :) I am glad you all like them! :)
The paper is Karen Foster #60612 Red Hawaiiann Shirt
UPC code 790568606126
I bought it at my LSS. I hope you find it! I love it!
The palm tree with the coconuts is a diecut that I bought at the MegaMeet in Novi, Michigan last year for something like 50¢! Dh thinks the coconuts look like a hidden mickey. :)
They do have a website it is www.deluxecuts.com . I hope you can find it! I'm sorry I don't have the wrapper any longer to give you the specifics.
Found it : http://www.deluxecuts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=DCO&Product_Code=2-022&Category_Code=
Mine is definitely the small, I have a larger one so I am certain of the size.

Carolinagirl,
Beautiful colors and great layouts! All of your hard work is really obvious! :thumbsup2 Did you use embossing powder on the boarder squares?
Thank you! Yes, I used embossing powder and a heat gun. The effect shows up better in person.

Ok, this is hard to see in a picture. These are bridal portrait pages. First of all, it's tough to do pics of yourself like this. To me it is anyway. So, the first page has a clear overlay with the mountains on top of a water-colorish mountainous scene. I wish you guys could see how cool the overlays are though.

The Disney Dreams scrapbook page was made using a number of tools in Photoshop.
The photos of course were taken on a cruise, from about 1/3 of the way back in the theatre with a Canon 10D and 70-200 lens (and a short monopod for stability).
The images were sized and placed on the page, thin gold borders were added with the stroke tool.
The background was filled with a dark blue gradient and stars were added with a shareware program I found on the web, "Universe" from http://www.diardsoftware.com/.
There are many other ways of making stars in Photoshop but this one works very well, it makes great snow too! ;)
The text effect uses motion blur and gradient fading with a mask. The frame around the page is a selection with emboss and drop shadow.

I am just new to scrapebooking, How do you type stuff onto little pieces of paper and tages? Do you use a typerwritter or the computer and if a computer how do you get it onto the little pieces of paper?
pppiglet
04-15-2006, 08:11 PM
I use the computer and just put white cardstock in my printer and print it then cut it out. Usually I test the size on regular paper first.
marlynnp
04-15-2006, 08:19 PM
You can type what you want and print it on plain paper first to make sure you have it the size and font you want. Then cut the fancy paper to size and use a little adhesive tape on the back of the lead edge of the fancy paper to cover the print on the white page and then run it through the printer again.

"We" (DD selected the materials, I applied them) completed my second autograph book for our June WDW trip.
I've posted the photos of both books in the DIS Photo gallery (http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=299). I've included a list of products used on the photo's pages, in case you want to try this on your own. (fairly easy to make and takes just a little time to put together)
Tip: When re-inserting the spiral, work from left to right, and so that the spiral enter the fabric ribbon from the top side not the bottom. I used a pointed drapery hook (for hanging pinch-pleat drapes) to punch the holes through the paper and ribbon.

After visiting WDW a few times, many of the pictures get to be "same old, same old". So I decided to make an ABC album with hidden Mickeys. Some pages had more than one letter on them (like P & Q), an some letters had a two-page spread (like M.) I journaled the whole trip on 3 pages at the end, using the really large diecut postcards on the pages. I put a hidden Mickey on every page by using a circle-head punch. Here are some samples.

The Disney Dreams scrapbook page was made using a number of tools in Photoshop.
It looks great. I spend a large portion of every day working in PhotoShop so it's a natural for me to look to for scrapbooking (which I am new to.) Do you print out your pages after you make them or do you just view them on screen or DVD?

We spent just one day at the Magic Kingdom during our spring break to Florida. We'll be going back for a full week in October. For that vacation I'm thinking of doing a 100% digital album. Has anyone found any digital SB resources for Disney? I did find some Disney brushes for use in Photoshop Elements but that's it. I would love some digital papers and clip art. Does Disney sell a clip art CD maybe?
Thanks to everyone for sharing your pages. I'm getting some really great ideas! I didn't like my 2001 trip album much so I'm hoping to do much better this time. :)

I've done a little bit of scrapbooking but basically I'm a total newbie. This is the first page I've done in years and the first page in my WDW book. I swiped the idea of using the map as a background from Wiggles and I learned about using brads for the vellum here from you guys (thanks!) This was a real stretch for me since I tend to go for really spare design (one plainly matted photo on a page or something.)
Sorry about the glare. Obviously I have to learn how to take pictures of pages in addition to actually making them.

I made a two page spread this weekend. Well, mostly. It still needs journaling and the title. But still, I'm happy with it and it took me forever. Does it get faster when you're not a beginner??? Also, I took my Uncle out to breakfast today in the next town over and discovered they have a scrapbook store. I'm going to try and find out if they have any classes at night or on weekends that I can go to.

Yes, this was taken last April (2005) just before Magical Express. We had Van transportation arranged for us and the "perks" they included were a grocery stop on the way there and a photo stop on the way back to the airport. We were actually on the other side of the highway leaving the "World". We had to do it VERY quickly as you are not really allowed to stop. Literally one snap for my family and one snap for the other family and we piled back into the van.

I record the scrapbook show on DIY while I am at work. Last night I watched some from this week and saw this page. Most of the time I feel like the stuff on there is a little beyond either my skills or my supplies, but this looked doable. I'm really pleased with it. However, as you can see, there is an area on the bottom that needs something. Or at least I think it needs something because on the show this is where she put the page title. I have two stickers I am debating between but only because I can't think of anything else. If you have an idea for me please share!
Embellishments scare me, that Mickey sticker was a big step for me!

My Man Stanley!
Is there any cooler Disney character than Stanley Griff? Stanley is Victoria’s favorite character. She loves learning all about different animals and the environment from his show. Each time we go to Animal Kingdom she HAS to see him and HAS to wear her overalls. Stanley loves them. This time he gave her lots of hugs and danced with her. I think they are proud of each other.

And a few more.....if you have any tips for me, please chip in....I tend to be kinda straight lined and boring. But I am having so much fun making this book! I don't think I stick to any of the rules for what colors go with what and probably put too many pictures on a page, but I have 800 pictures!

Then where were you when I needed help 5 yrs ago trying to figure out how to shape the paragraphs around Mickey. Spent ALOT of hours spacing & trial & error, until I had a brainstorm idea to scan the postcard. ;)
I had the link to my scrapbooks in my siggy here for YEARS, but as I stopped scrapping & the styles changed, I figured they were looking tired & old, so I removed the link.
Here it is if anyone is interested in looking. http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/AlbumList?u=4002141
I still like to look....and shop....but just can't seem to find the drive to finish. I've been toying with the idea of returning to digital which is where my scrapping roots came from way back in 1999 - way before anyone was doing digital scrapbooks. But it wasn't a true scrapbooking form. Its just that the program I'm most familiar with isn't 12x12, & the thought of learning ANOTHER program (in & out) right now doesn't interest me.

Thank you Vicki--that is such a sweet compliment. But your pages are by no means dull!!
If this is the page you mean: I did the collage in Microsoft Publisher & just printed it out all together on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of photo paper. That is one of my favorite pages.

We have an older Canon S9000 and a newer i9900, both can print up to
13 x 19.
Sometimes we print 8-1/2 x 11 then add a 2-1/2 x 11 sidebar (or top/bottom bar) with the journaling (and a faded image in the background).

Looks real good!
For your first attempt you sure picked up quickly on one of the great things about digital scrapping, adding a faded image as a background.
Until you get your new software, you can simulate a drop shadow by adding a faded gray copy of your text, offset slightly to the right and down.
Post more when you get them done!

I completed my first digital layout. I started it back in May of 2006 and couldn't get past adding the photo to the paper. I loved the paper and didn't care much for the tag and other accents that were in the kit. This morning I decided to added the tv element to the page and added the text. I only wish some other photos DD had taken at the dance were digital, but the prints haven't been scanned into the computer.

Well, this is my first time posting a layout here so I'm hoping this works and that it's not too huge. These are a few of my favorite layouts from our Disneyland trip in March 2006. Note that all pages have Mickey heads on them. Some hidden, some not-so-hidden.
This is Carissa, our little princess, meeting a real-life princess for the first time. The ultimate Disney magic moment. Jounraling reads:
Journaling reads:
This is it – the exact moment that the magic reached out and touched Carissa. We were standing outside Goofy’s Kitchen when Aurora walked up to Carissa and bent to talk to her. Carissa was in awe. She finally got to meet a princess in real life and she was speechless. It was an awesome moment that will be engrained on my heart forever – the moment my princess met her first princess and was struck by the awesome force of Disney magic.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/pixleyyy/firstsight.jpg
The kids with their golden Mickey ears. Journaling reads:
You can't go to Disneyland without buying a pair of Mickey Mouse Ears. The kids each got these gold 50th Anniversary ears embroidered with their names, though they were too enthralled by Disneyland to care much about what was on their head.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/pixleyyy/wereallears.jpg
This pic was taken near the exit from Splash Mountain, but it lists all of our favorite things at the parks (favorite rides at each park, favorite treat, favorite character, etc.)

Having fun with the hats at the Mad Hattery.

A couple more. The Mickeys are a bit more hidden on the first two.
Our family on the back side of Grizzly River. Journaling is on the right side of the photo and reads:
This vacation was exactly what we hoped it would be - a chance to better connect with one another and to strengthen the bonds of our family. March 5, 2006
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/pixleyyy/timetogether.jpg
This is, of course, the Maliboomer. Journaling is too long to post.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/pixleyyy/goingup.jpg
Grizzly River Run. Journaling reads:
I lost count of the number of times we went on Grizzly River Run. Not only was it fun, it was also a guaranteed place to get soaked. It’s no wonder this ride was a favorite of Dad and the kids.

I like Digital Scrapbook Place (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com) personally, but there are several sites and forums out there for digital scrapbooking. You will get many hits on google if you put in digital scrapbooking. There are tons of tutorials on the site I linked and some at other sites too, which have helped me tremendously.
To print your pages, you can either get an expensive 12x12 printer (400-500 range), or use a good quality photo printer for 8x10/8.5x11. If you do 12x12, a popular option is to create in 12x12 and then print at 8x8 and trim your page. I haven't printed any yet, but this is my plan. For those that don't want the 12x12 printer and wish 12x12 pages, there are printing services that vary in cost where you can send your files to be printed. There are many posts on the forum about printing, and I believe there is even a tutorial about printing pages.
It's a lot of fun and easy to do. I love making things without a huge mess on the table! And you never run out of supplies! It's awesome!

I am new to scrapbooking and just made it through this thread. All of your books are great. I was wondering if anyone had done a layout from the Wilderness Lodge. I am starting my first Disney book and am looking for some inspiration.

Looks like you're trying to post right from your computer. You'll need to go to a photo sharing site (such as shutterfly.com) and upload your photos first. Then right click the photo on the site, click properties, and then copy and paste the URL. Hope that helps :)

OK, here it goes, my first scrapbook post on the DIS...
This is the EPCOT part of my album from our March 2005 trip that I'm sadly just finishing up. I still have our Feb 2006 trip to do and I'm headed back in a month :rotfl2: Oh well. As you can see it was raining the entire time.
I don't have a scanner so I had to take pictures of my LO's, so they might look a little crooked, and the black outline is not part of the LO it's just the background. If you have questions on what I used please ask :)

Those are wonderful pages. Love your color schemes.
I had to laugh about the rain. Last time I was there, it rained 7 days out of 9 that we were there, torential rains, and at that time I just remember the sea of yellow ponchos and snickering to myself how Walt was laughing all the way to the bank on those ponchos.

I found it online somewhere, then just uploaded it, altered it with sepia tone & printed it out! :) Disney used to sell slides (for slide projectors) of interior shots of rides -- if they still did that, I'd buy them, just to get prints!

I seem to go "in" and "out" of scrapbooking. I'm about to get back "in" to it again. I have spent the better part of this afternoon  in this forum looking at all of your wonderful ideas. Well, haven't had a lot of time lately, so still working on Mazatlan! I am finishing up two more pages, but having a hard time finding stickers or a stamp that I want to use on it. Can't wait to start Cabo though because it will mean I am almost done and can get on to my next album!

I had never scrapped before we did our cruise in June 2005. I am totally liking it though and thinking about all the DL pictures I have from the past and present to work on. We've had passes for the last five years. I can't wait to go next weekend and get pictures of all the new halloween decorations!

I used two functions within Word: Word Art (to make the circles) and Text Box (to confine the typing space a little easier). I made 3 circles with the Word Art to make a Mickey shape ... and then laid a Text Box over that. From there, it's just a matter of right clicking on all the options for the 4 elements: 3 circles + 1 text box, to make them so they lay one on top of the other with the text in front!
I finished another LO last night: Magical Memories at Disney (http://www.houseofpaper.com/custom/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=9992&nocache=1). :) Probably not most people's idea of "magic", but it's mine. :)

Great pages! I like the clean style you have. Did you cut the letters from printed paper? If you could find shoe print stickers or a stamp that would be really cute. As another possibility, here is "foot print" clip art that you could print on card stock and cut out:

Thanks CAcruisin for the link. That's the closest thing I found so far to what I need!

ppiglet...I'd move the word "tour" up, and then run a strip of that striped patterned paper, about 2" wide, from left to right, about 1/2" from the bottom on both pages, slipping under the matted photos. I'd also consider matting all of your photos on black as a very thin line, outlining them with that extra mat. Just my two cents! :)
pppiglet
10-09-2006, 12:58 AM
Thanks for the tips latharia! I wish I could do that with the patterned paper, but unfortunately it wasn't regular paper but letters that punched out of it with no extra paper to spare! (I tried)..I do like the idea of the extra black mat though.

Ooh! Another thought -- you could print the "boot prints" or "foot prints" out on a transparency & overlay it on your LO -- that way you could also see if you like it or not. :)
Maybe there's another patterened paper with similar colors you could use? Just thinking out loud, again. :)
