Hi fellow crafters and artisans! We thought it would be fun for all of us to have a chance to show off all the hard work we do with arts and crafts.

Consider this thread a DIS Virtual Gallery! Post pictures of your handiwork for everyone to Ooooh and Ahhhh over. I know as a crafter and artist myself, sometimes it's just fun showing off your work.

The only guidelines involved are to keep your pictures a reasonable size so that they are easily viewed

Also, please make sure that your pictures remain available to be seen on the boards. Once a thread gets some age to it, if pictures are not still being maintained on the site that you host it on, all we see is a red "x". If we see a post with a picture that has gone to "x", and doesn't return within 48 hours we will take the post off of the thread so that "visitors" to our gallery are not scrolling through a bunch of "x"s. If this happens to one of your pictures, you are more than welcome to repost the picture once the image has been fixed. :)

If you would like to add descriptions of what you made, directions of how you made it, the inspirations behind what you do.. anything like that, I think that would be great and would add to the fun of the gallery! It's a way to inspire your fellow crafters!

So, who is going to put up the first display in the CCS Virtual Gallery?

Hey, I'll play. I haven't done much lately, but here's one of the mini albums I made last winter for the family friend that's more of a surrogate grandmother. I made a similar one for DH to carry around and show off. It only goes up to DS's 2-month portrait. (He's 11 months old today.)

Hey, that's neat! How did you do it? Is it fabric covered or is the design painted on?

Hey, that's neat! How did you do it? Is it fabric covered or is the design painted on?Paper (Scrapworks I think), stickers, rub-ons, printed transparencies, and photos. That's about it. These days it has to be quick and easy. The album itself is just a 12x12 sheet cut into 3rds, stuck together and folded. I think I spent may an hour or two putting this together. I don't even have that much time anymore.

Since I was an artist before I was a crafter ;) I thought I would post some of my artwork. I mostly dabbled in watercolor and acrylics and pencil and the majority of my subjects were wildlife. At one point in my life I did portraits of people's dogs for them. The most "famous" dogs I ever did was author Patricia Cornwell's dachshunds. Wolves like the one below were another one of my favorite subjects.

I am going to need help, I have only posted pictures on the Dis one time, I don't remember how I did itm, and when I did the pictures were very small and I didn't know how to resize them. If anyone can pm me the instructions, i will try again.

I've just gotten started in digital scrapbooking, and I have to say that this is almost as addictive as traditional scrapping. I'm having a great time downloading papers and elements. It's so great that everything is reusable and the combination possibilities are endless. I don't know that I'll ever like it better than traditional scrapping, but once you figure everything out, it does seem like you can get pages done faster. I'm in the process of redoing my sister's baby book as it is now 44 years old and has fallen apart, so I'm scanning the pics into the computer and making her a digital album in 8x8 format that I will then be able to print out. I also digitally scrapped a few pics of two of my friends babies, that I am doing 8x8 also, so I can print them out. Here is what I have finished so far.

My first foray in creating an autograph book. I used scrapbook paper and Jolee dimensional stickers, as well as silver rimmed tags and epoxy stickers to add the name. I would still like to add a Mickey Mouse dimensional sticker on the left side, cover the inside of the covers and maybe figure out how to laminate the whole cover for added protection.

iNTeNSeBLue98 - Very nice! If you use Modge Podge you'll protect it. It's this stuff that you paint on...it dries clear but leaves a nice, thick protective coating. It's Great!

I make birthday cakes every year for my DS. Normally, I would buy the Wilton pan and be done with it, but on his third birthday the Buzz Lightyear pan was retired and only found selling on ebay for over 150.00. No thanks. So I had an idea with some corrugated, mylar paper, edible rice paper, and 5 hours of my Saturday night I created and finished this cake for him. After that I almost didn't want to let anyone eat it lol. But anyway here it is and by no means am I a professional baker, but I just wanted to show others that it is not difficult.

My first attempt at posting a picture of something I made. I made earrings too but I was wearing them and forgot to take them off for the pic.

As a new jewelry addict, I'm experiementing with different combinations of beads and clasps. Unfortunately, I didn't have a gold or bronze clasp for this but I was so excited about it I had to go ahead with what I had. This took hours to make because I started with another design in mind, using a black/silver glass bead as my main bead and working with other beads that I had on hand. I kept manipulating the beads and not liking the configuration. Then I tried working with some green beads I had, again I wasn't satisfied. Finally, the red ones. The main piece is dyed coral, and there are several smaller pieces of coral in it. I kept trying all these red combination and just didn't like it until I remembered the brown/amber beads I had for something else. Then it started coming together. Once the muse spoke, it worked!

Bethany - cute - how'd you do it?
thanks...it was actually pretty easy once I came up with an idea
empty CD tin from Archivers
painted it with MM acrylic paint (scuff it a bit with sandpaper first)
cut to fit paper, glued on..tear a coordinating paper for top layer, rub-on letters
Ribbon is wrapped around the lid (and glued under a piece of paper on the inside of the lid)
Dragonfly was a rusty bronze colored Christmas ornament from Pier 1 (painted with same MM paint and sprinkled a little glitter into the wet paint)
Prima flower (touched up with paint to match)

I posted on the Virtual Scrapbook thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=12502613#post12502613) yesterday, post #322, with a link to both autograph books that I've completed. (they're like mirror images). If you follow the link in that post to the DIS Photo Gallery you can see both books. When you click on the photos there is a description below of the materials used. I'll included them here too, because I didn't realize I had posted on two threads.

Photo Gallery (http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=299)

Andrea’s autograph book
• Dollar Tree 6.25"x4.75" spiral sports autograph book covered with:
• EK Success Mickey and Stripes (DPMP006) and Dots (DPMP003) papers,
• EK Success Disney sticker (DJTM004),
• EK Success "Sticko" 1/2" Tiny Tags (SPTAGT01), 1/2" Epoxy Circles (SPTTYEP01),
• Stickerpotamus Sticker Minis Deep Red block ABC's (SP-LMA-02P),
• Sandylion Autographs sticker (PDSCB43)
• Bobbins star print ribbon (90041-067)

Samantha’s autograph book
• Dollar Tree 6.25"x4.75" spiral sports autograph book covered with:
• EK Success Mickey thick stripe (DPMP001) and Polka Dots (DPMP004) papers,
• EK Success Wishes do Come True stickers (DJTCM15),
• EK Success "Sticko" 1/2" Tiny Tags (SPTAGT01), 1/2" Epoxy Circles (SPTTYEP01),
• Making Memories Chunky Waterslide ABC's (25179),
• Jolee's Boutique Mickey Mouse dimensional sticker(DJBM004)
• Bobbins bubbles print ribbon (90041-014)

Carefully remove the spiral from the book. The entire book was wrapped in plastic so I opened the plastic just enough to pull out the covers and leave the paper clumped together. You could clip the paper with a black binder clip so the pages stay lined up and don't separate.

I used double stick tape along the edges of the paper to attach. Cut the paper to length, about an inch longer to wrap around the cover. The red book I only allowed about 1/4" and the edges keep popping up, but on the blue book I made the pieces longer and they are staying down. Use the tape on both the edge that will stick to the front and again on the edge that wraps around to the inside. Eventually I added the matching paper to the inside of the cover to hide the raw edges, with that piece going from edge to edge.

On the blue book I used some of those mounting squares that are on a roll in box (I forget which brand and the actual name) to adhere the ribbon. Spacing them about 1/2" apart was easier than trying to use the double-sided tape reel on a piece of ribbon the didn't lay flat and still.

I used a drapery hook with a sharp point (the kind used to hang pinch-pleat drapes), or use a nail, to re-open the holes for the spiral. Punch from the top side, especially for the ribbon. We had a slight disaster with the blue book where it frayed terribly and I made a repair to replace a portion of the ribbon.
Replace the spiral from the left side, not the right (lesson learned) as this will thread from the top side through the book.

<-- I drew that. :) My handiwork is in every post I make!

I do digital paintings in Photoshop. I do a pencil sketch first, which I scan and reopen in Photoshop, then I "paint" it in just like you would on a canvas, completely losing the original sketch. Upside: no messy cleanup, it's easy to erase mistakes, and you can get some really cool effects if you want to. Downside: no "original" hard piece of art, since it's all digital. :( but they print nice at least, I'm thinking of doing a Disney-themed picture and having them printed on T-shirts for our upcoming trip.

Can I join :yay:

I always think I'm more crafty than I am. I get these huge ideas and sometimes they work, most times they don't :teeth: .

Anyway, I recently made a toy chest and child's rocking chair for my new niece. It started as unfinished furniture and I antiqued it and hand painted the Pooh stuff. The rocking chair has butterflies on it (in case you can't tell :teeth: ). They are all the same color but the lighting is messed up. I also added some grass after the pictures were taken.

Hi crafty DISers!

Here are some of the crafts I've done. Beading... some Disney related and other stuff just for fun. Also included is a skirt my partner made for me to wear to the Spirit of Aloha Luau!

Here's a tropical themed necklace & earrings that match my luau skirt:

http://pic16.picturetrail.com/VOL692/6391684/12388278/181966136.jpg

Here's a necklace & earrings I made in honor of Animal Kingdom Lodge called "I Love the Lodge" - I'm going to wear it there on my upcoming trip!:

http://pic16.picturetrail.com/VOL692/6391684/12388278/181966124.jpg

Here is a necklace & earrings all in pink colors:

http://pic16.picturetrail.com/VOL692/6391684/12388278/181966094.jpg

Here's another tropical themed necklace:

http://pic16.picturetrail.com/VOL692/6391684/12388278/181966049.jpg

Here's a summery strawberry necklace inspired by a pretty glass pendant I found:

http://pic16.picturetrail.com/VOL692/6391684/12388278/181966033.jpg

Here's another Animal Kingdom Lodge tribute necklace (zebra inspired):

http://pic16.picturetrail.com/VOL692/6391684/12388278/181965975.jpg

Here's a necklace I made for my sister's birthday, she loves butterflies. I found the marcasite butterfly pendant at a jewelry store and beaded the rest of the necklace:

http://pic16.picturetrail.com/VOL692/6391684/12388278/181965998.jpg

Here's the Disney themed luau skirt my partner (hannacanna) made. We got the fabric really cheap at Jo-ann's! When I saw it I just knew it had to be made into something special for Disney World!

Here's a closeup of the luau fabric:

TinkNH - Love the Polymer clay stuff, your florals are georgeous. I know what you mean about it being addictive, it's so versatile.

Stina - great necklaces - inspiring for beads ;) My new challenge is Lampworking (glass bead making) I'll definitely try those zebra's and cheetahs!

Love the dog collars & the polymer clay stuff!

My main obsession is scrapbooking, but I don't have any pics here at work! I am going to Disney in 8 days!!! I made some mickey mouse hoop earrings for my trip! I also do covered photo albums!

I'm too new for it to let me post pics, though. =(

That would be really neat to have your artwork on T-shirts. Would love to see a picture of those.

I couldn't find a place I liked the quality of, so we ended up buying shirts off disneyshopping.com, unfortunately.

WoW! I loooove it! Your work is amazing! Are you on DA or do you have an online gallery where we can see more? My daughter & I are both digital artists, but not quite up to your level! LOL! I mostly use Photoshop and Painter, and she does vector work in Xara. Here's a quick drawing my daughter Jordan did recently in Xara...

BTW, the Kodama tree spirits from Princess Mononoke in your signature are great!!!

Hehe, thank you! I only just started teaching myself PS about a year ago, and I'm still learning how it works just by experementation. I'm also using a Wacom Graphire 3 tablet *hugs her tablet* but that pirate picture, for example, was done 100% with the standard "fuzzy" brush with everything at normal settings. Just two days ago I learned about the miraculous world of "color burn". :lmao:

http://s84.photobucket.com/albums/k34/BlindTyldak/

There's a little gallery I tossed together of a few things I've done over the past year . . . *chuckles* It'll be immediately obvious that I'm very much still learning and trying new things.

That Beast is GREAT! Nice quote! :rotfl2: I know NOTHING about vector work, but would love to learn and LOVE sharing ideas and techniques; we should start a digital art thread!

Hi. Just found out about this craft thread. Do you make wedding flipflops too? DD's getting married next year and neither one of us will last in heels the whole night of reception. She tried gluing sequins on flips, but they kept falling off when she walked.

But anyway here it is and by no means am I a professional baker, but I just wanted to show others that it is not difficult.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j109/PrincessSonny/cake.jpg
You really put in a lot of effort on that! Hope your ds enjoyed it! You sound like me with the cakes I used to make! Tried to match to what each child was in to. Sometimes, I think I got more out of it than they did! Kinda miss now that they're grown an don't even care for cake anymore. I took pics of all (pre-digital) maybe I can upload some here to show?

I make pottery as a hobby. I'm not a production professional potter tho. I basicly make gifts for friends and family also to develope my overall skill. The type of pottery I do is off the wheel for the most part, handbuilt. I have a palsy shake in my hands so I can only do the simplest work on a wheel without transfering the shake to the piece, Even so I enjoy the work & get a lot of relaxation from it. Here's a few pieces.

Not Disney related, but this is a diaper cake I made for my husband's cousin's baby shower last summer--Ignore all the crapola on the table in the background :rotfl2:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v34/SouthernChick/100_3257.jpg
Here's another diaper cake I made. You can't see it real well, but there is one of those little bun tiaras on the top with socks behind it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v34/SouthernChick/100_3285.jpg
I also bought bunches of those two-packs of candles in a tin from Dollar Tree, cut out circles in two of the mother-to-be's nursery colors and printed her shower date on them and glued them to the lids. I made several things for this dang shower--wore myself out!

A picture of the 3 of us from our trip to WDW last summer--I made my daughter's shirt she's wearing
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v34/SouthernChick/100_1864.jpg

I also do scrapbooking, cardmaking and like to paint flower pots. I've made several paper bag albums, made my daughter's autograph book from last year and I make several dozen ornaments every year from the clear ball ornaments for little happies for co-workers, teacher gifts, etc.

I was inspired by someone else to make these bracelets. I am not a crafter, I like to sew and knit - but this is my first attempt at jewlery. We are travelling with friends and I wanted to give something to the 4 kids in the group. I had enough beads to make something for the Mom's too. I was able to buy the supplies over Ebay and Etsy. What do you think!

I found the instructions for this cake on the internet somewhere...

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_dJYtjJtkAac/SdkcIxfaiwI/AAAAAAAAEMY/wksoMlQcoiQ/s800/PirateCakePlanks.jpg"

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_dJYtjJtkAac/SdkcJYDVHuI/AAAAAAAAEMg/43753psQ10U/s800/100_0548.JPG

The pictures are not all that great, but all it is are two 9" round layers of a cake, each cut in half and "iced together" with the round side on bottom and leaving the "flat" part on top as a deck. I iced the whole thing with chocolate and embellished it with Twix bars as cannons, Piroulines as deck railings, Hershey's Nuggets for treasure, two Peanut Butter Logs as the plank, and of course LEGO pirates. The cannons sticking out on the sides of the ship are Chocolate Piroulines cut in half with candles stuck very carefully into the chocolate. The masts are made from parchment paper on wooden skewers. We lit all the cannons and sang Happy Birthday (this was two years ago.) It was the biggest hit with everyone!

I like the current pins they have now, but back in the day these are the type of pins I would collect :3dglasses. I still think they're fun, recently bought a button/pin making kit, and made & wore these on my May Disneyland trip. I have a few more image ideas in mind, will at least give the person lined up behind me something to do :p . I did have a little boy ask to pin trade with me . The pins measure: 2 1/4 inches.

Okay, so this requires a little explanation. My friend and I were talking at work about errant theology including baptismal regeneration. We both came out in defense of the Bible (ie. salvation is by grace through faith ala Eph. 2:8-9) and our other friend who belongs to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) brought up links on the LCMS website that stated that salvation is secured at baptism. For reference they are paedobaptist (baptize babies) which means that they believe that their children are saved immediately upon baptism. If that's the case, then, we thought, why not get a pastor, a crop duster full of holy water, and a PA system and baptize the world!

There you go - more information than you wanted, and three hours of my life that I'll never get back. On the plus side, if I need a logo that looks just like that (minus the text), I'll have it available!

Oh thank you so much! Which ones? They are all easy to make. The glass tile ones you create your image or get an image from the Internet. I print onto photo paper. Put some type of adhesive such as diamond glaze, 3D lacquer, modge podge or resin on the glass to adhere it to the image. Then you coat the back with one of the same adhesives to protect it.

The bottle caps are basically the same except I run the image through the little Xyron sticker maker to adhere to the bottlecap. Then I use
Resin on top. You can use epoxy dots if you would rather but I love to pour resin so I use that.

The silver tiles that the Princess Tiana ones are in I again run my image through the xyron sticker maker to adhere to tray. I use an epoxy dot on those because I seem to get too many bubbles with the resin inside the tray.

I hope this helps. If it's not clear instructions or you have questions please let me know. Thanks!

Here's a blanket I just finished for a friend who's due in August. The colors remind me of Buzz lightyear.

Here they are laid out side by side.

I can also personalize them if the baby name is 5 letters or less!
There is so much talent here! I love it all!

Well said! Those blankets are all so beautiful! If both of you don't mind me asking, what size blankets do you usually make for infants? What kind of yarn do you like to work with?

Are either of you on Ravelry? My projects are saved there. My ID is filypretzel if you wanted to see them.

Thank you for sharing these!

I use just soft baby yarns. I like the yarns with floss in them. I don't really measure my blankets, but I do tend to make them a little large so that the baby can use them for a good 2 years or more. I am on ravelry. I don't go there very often but I am there. I also use crochetville. That place rocks!!!

Thanks!

For this blanket I used Lion Brand Hometown USA and an N hook. The yarn is really thick but still soft and it worked up so quick!

For the blanket I made a few months back I used Baby Bernat and I thought I would never finish! :rotfl:

I would say they are both about 36X36 or so. I usually just keep going until it looks right. :confused3

HI Everyone :wave2:
Glad I found y'all.
I am a beginner crocheter...only been doing it since last summer-ish.
Here are a few of my projects: (and I seem to be on a ripple pattern kick)
The two color projects (2 red/white ones and 1 green/gold are for HS graduations and they are the college colors. I did not voluntarily choose those colors.)

I am working on a blanket to enter in our local fair.

I purchased the kit from Mary Maxim. It's called Peaceful Pastels. It's working up very quick and I probably could have had it done in a week if I worked on it each night.

Here's what it will look like:

And what I've got done so far:

I got 3rd place last year with this blanket and want 1st this time! :rotfl:

Although I do many types of crafts, I have never worked with resin. Your bottlecaps look so perfect, does the resin self-level? How do you keep it within the edges of the cap?

The resin does self level. I go around the edge of the bottle cap first & it kinda of fills itself in.

Hello everyone !

This is my first time posting in this area and wanted to share my recent first attempt at cosplay kitten ears.

The first pair here are stationary on a headband accented with ribbons and pearl strands.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a518/astylla/002-Copy_zps13e6ff92.jpg (http://s1281.photobucket.com/user/astylla/media/002-Copy_zps13e6ff92.jpg.html)

The second I had an idea for adjustable headband ears - Attached elastic loops to the ears so I can adjust the ears as desired.

Thanks! I've never worked with resin or beading before just a few months ago, so it's been a learning process. I'm having a blast with it, though, and that's what counts, right!?!

We're taking DD to WDW this December for the first time, and I can't wait to show off my new creations then! (Though, let's be honest, I've been sporting them around town in anticipation of our trip!):rotfl2:
