View Full Version : Hotel New York Lake View or not?

We are just planning our next trip. And as we never stayed at the Hotel New York we choose this one. But now I'm a little bit worried because I would like to have a room with lake view. But that cost much extra. So can someone tell me if the lake view is worth the extra money in the HNY?
I would say it is worth the money in the NPBC but not in the SL because the view is very limited due to the high trees.

And another question. Is it possible to upgrade your hotelroom in the hotel?
I mean you bok a standard room and while you are there you pay the extra for a lake view or admiral or montana room?

We usually stay at the HNY and it is our favourite but have never stayed in a lakeview room. The standard rooms are very nice but I would imagine the lakeview rooms are even better. I guess it depends on when you are going ie. will there be the lights of Christmas to take in across the lake, or fireworks in high season summer. The other factor is how much extra is it for a lakeview room and how much time do you think you will spend in the room?

The lake view rooms at the New York should be as unobstructed as those of the Newport Bay. So if you think it's worth upgrading to a lake view there, then you will enjoy one at the HNY. We had one of the rooms surrounding the ice rink, which was lovely. Though I didn't actually pay any extra for it, we were just given it.

Even if you don't get a lake view room, I do think that you have a good chance of getting one with a nice view. Maybe you could check in and take your assigned room - and if necessary decide to upgrade, it if you find the view is not to your liking.
