I just returned from the Post Office, and the clerk there watched as I was enclosing my letter with my money for the swap postage. Immediately she warned me not to put the money in the package! She said that when it goes through x-ray, people have been spotting the cash inside and taking it out, then resealing the package. I was not aware of this.
Anyway, I just bought the postage stamp for priority mail and enclosed it with my package for return mailing. I decided that was a much safer way for me to go now that I have been warned.

They do, the $.85. I always send the $3.85 stamp and prefer that when I host a swap. So much easier than cash.

The stamps always work for me a lot better when I am hosting then the cash or checks ( especially the checks, which can take me a while to cash ). I can also mail packages out from home if I have the stamp. ( We brought a big mailbox in part because of all the swaps I was hosting ). So much more friendlier then dealing with my local post office.

I know, it sounds funny to me to about being detected by x-ray. I was only putting dollars in the envelope, not change. So I'm not sure how she meant that. I will from now on just buy the postage stamp accordingly for the swap.
