I use a tape runner for my pictures, and paper pieces. Glue dots for ribbon and other embellishments. Metal glue for wire words or anything metal. I do use a glue stick sometimes for things that have a large surface where a few spots of tape won't hold it.

I like double sided tape, glue lines (like glue dots, only in a line) for ribbon, xyron (the little x) for little stuff. and hermafix gluedots and the tape runner from them. maggie

Read my tag, GLUEDOTS. Just teasing, but those are my favorite for anything bulky or heavy. I love photo mounting squares for pictures because you can move them (carefully) if you need to, and I have. I hate tape runners after making shaker boxes last night :rotfl2: They apparantly don't like to stick on craft foam very well. I use a glue stick most often though because it works good and is cheap :teeth:

I like glue dots for when I want something to really STICK, but I use Tombow Mono for everyday stuff -- buy it in multiples from Viking on special and it's much more economical. If I could afford it, I'd Xyron alot more stuff too, especially now that I work with so many die cuts from my Wishblade.

I forgot about my xyron! Love that too.

I learned this the hard way too, after making 23 for a swap!

So does anyone know what type of adhesive is best for gluing foam?

I think the Xyron would work well. It's very sticky and has complete coverage.

Nope, I tried it, thinking that it would be perfect and it didn't work very well at all.

I use my tape runner for everything except my sizzlet letters, then I use my Xyron 150.

I am currently between adhesives. :teeth:

Seriously, I think I'm going to through my CM tape runner out the window. It keeps sticking on me, no matter what I do. I've used the little X Xyron and really like it and I just bought another type of tape runner to try out.

Photo splits and Zots. Tried glue stick, didn't work well for me.

Most glue sticks don't work well at all. They might work in the beginning, but after a couple of months, usually the items start to "fall". I have seen too many people come into the store looking for something to replace their glue sticks with a better adhesive. I always advise my customers against using glue sticks and get them starting using something that will last.

I just love the Duck adhesive that I buy at Walmart. It is in the office supplies section, not the scrapbook section.

I am going to look into that Duck adhesive!

As far as adhering the foam when making shakers, I have found that tacky glue works the best out of anything that I have tried.

Have you tried the Terrifically Tacky tape for the foam? It is very sticky double sided tape and has a red thing that you peel off of one side. I think Magic Scraps had it one time or Art Accentz also makes it. IT IS SUPER SUPER STICKY!!!!!

I use the red tape runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L for most things. I use dots for dimensional things, xyron for itty-bitty things. I have used some glue stick, but only on a few things (I do NOT like it). I have some splits leftover from my CM days that I reach for when I'm desperate. BTW, I've tried the Duck and I don't like it much, either, it doesn't hold paper bag pages very well. :(

Try foam glue Aleene's makes some. It is ultra tacky and bonds quick but I am not sure if it is archival safe. It is normally sold in container of about 2 ounces.

I have tried ALOT of different types of adhesive. The one I use most is SM tape runner. I have the mini as well. I also use my ZYRON 150 for diecut alphabets and glue dots for buttons and embellishments. I also have the larger Zyron (i think 850) but I dont use it that often-more for lamination.
