Submarine Lagoon?

Hey everyone. I heard a rumor that they had started to do some work on the Submarine Lagoon. Has anyone seen anything or know anything?

There was a rumor around the time the Atlantis movie came out that if it did well, they might possibly use the former submarine ride area to build some Atlantis-themed ride.

Can anyone confirm/deny?

We were in Dland in June and saw no construction.They did have all the Atlantis characters there in fornt of the lagoon doing their greets.I belive they were trying to tie them to this area but since the moive did not do as well as hoped it all reamins to be seen?We will be going again in Oct (God willing) and I will keep a very keen eye open.:earseek:

I was at Disneyland yesterday. There is nothing going on with the lagoon, just lots of regular ride rehab work going on.

Currently there is no construction going on at the lagoon athough I've hear many rumors that they will build something there. Personally I think it will be awhile before they make that area into a new ride. If they use the existing lagoon to create a new ride they have a problem. No place for a line. What used to be the submarine line is now the exit for the new autopia ride. A shop decicated to the ride where you can get a picture taken inside one of the cars, plus by the chevron cars, and various other suff. They have also used the area as the line for the monorail. This make's it nicer since you no longer have to stand in the sun, you are now in the shade.

If they don't use the lagoon then they have the problem of having to take it out, so that would take awhile also (and I doubt they would go to the trouble of removing the lagoon, but you never know).

I dont know why they dont consult me, but why not put the entrance over near the small world promenade/matterhorn and tie it into fantasyland like maybe an Ariel thing!Of course how they would make it look ok from the tomrrowland side is iffy.Well I guess that's why they dont ask me!:mad:

1. Atlantis/Alien Encounter - like a giant squid thing ive heard few rumors about this but its probaby not going to happen.
2. Atlantis the ride- Another rumor that probably wont happen is a sub ride based on the unsuccsesful movie.
3. Journey to the center of the earth- i heard this from somone but i dont think it will happen there is just not enough room.
4. 2,000 leagues under the sea- they might put a clone of the DisneySea ride (it makes the most sense and the best idea so far)
5. fire,Geyser,Villian mountain- It could be one of these but the chances are around 200/1.
6. Nothing will happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is also a very scary but good possiblity that nothing will happen with the lagoon!

Those are the best rumors ive heard since I've been asking this question for awhile. = (
Everyone pray that it is a mountain. alien encounter, leagues under the sea, or journey to the center of the earth or we will be outta luck!

As for putting the line over by the matterhorn on the way to fantasyland, that is currently one of the few (I think there are only 3) smoking sections in the park. Besides since they've extended the matterhorn line out into the middle on the way to Fantasyland and it's no longer going around the mountain, they don't have the room for a big line over there next to the Lagoon.

Combine the old motor boat cruiseway with the sub lagoon and put Aquatopia from DisneySea in them. It gives Tomorrowland a need kinetic energy, wouldn't cost too much, and makes for a nice transition between Fantasyland and TL.

Well of course that's what I meant to say, yes, all my idea uh huh!;) But seriously that's the best idea I've heard yet!
