Here's a post script....if you'd like to be IN the Christmas parade and then watch it on Christmas morning, be at MK over the first weekend of December. We do it every year and stand near the Emporium. The camera almost always includes us in some of the shots. My kids love seeing us on television while we're sitting there watching it.

OK, Are we sure this year, that the parade taping will be the first weekend in December?? Being Saturday the 3rd??? Hopefully????

I'm assuming so because we go, every year, the day after Thanksgiving and stay for the full week. The parade has been filmed that weekend since we've been going. I'm not sure if it's in print, anywhere, but that's the`way it has been.

So the parade they show on tv on christmas day is not actually live :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 Hummmm we were planning on being in Magic Kingdom on Christmas day to watch the parade.. :rolleyes:

How crowded is the MK that day? During our trip we are planning that day for MK b/c it is open later since there is no MVMCP. I noticed that the parade is scheduled for later that day. I think 5pm. Do they extend the parade for taping or do they just do the regular parade and just tape it? I hate to chg my days we are going to each park, but I don't want it to be too crazy. We are planning on going back to the hotel for an afternoon break and the parrade is not a priority b/c we really want to see Spectromagic. Any input would be great.

They will be taping at WDW on both Dec 2 and Dec 3. My DD's agent asked us if we wanted to be extras, but DD has school on Dec 2 and is taking the SAT on Dec 3.

The MK is congested on Main St. when they are taping the parade. You won't see the entire parade. They will film bits and pieces and even then they might tape the same float many times before they move on to something else.

I was surprised (don't know why though) that it is not a live broadcast. It is taped and put together. They do several shots of each "scene." In fact the year we were there (2002) they taped shots of the other parks parades IN the MK.
