We take ours. We only turn it on if we really need to use it though because you will pay a roaming fee the minute you cross the border. We give family back our home our hotel # to contact us.

I'm with Telus and I do not get any service in Florida. I get the occasional roaming signal around Vermont, New Hampshire... I also used to get analog service east of Bowmanville, but now I don't get anything until I reach Kingston. I've called and complained and they keep telling me to buy a new phone (but I did just buy a new one!) :confused3

I'm thinking of switching to Bell. I heard they have a better service coverage.

I heard walkie talkies might be something good for your kids!

We use Bell and it works fine. You can add a US plan for a month if you think you'll be using it a lot to save on the roaming fees.

We always take ours to Disney. We have the America's Choice plan with Verizon. No romaing or long distance charges. :cool1: We normally stay at Shades of Green so it also saves us the 75 cents they charge on local calls.

Hi there we have Rogers and it works fine, if you think you will use it more than 5 inutes please do get the US rates plan. Otherise it works out to be about .55 cents a minute.

I travel throughout the states quite a bit and never have trouble with Rogers... Always a signal...

good Luck

We have Bell Mobility and it works great in Florida - it is actually cheaper to use the cell phone than to call home from the hotel.

The reception is also really good. We got calls while we were on rides! We also still had it on while we were leaving Port Canaveral on our Disney Cruise and it worked for quite a ways out.

When we got home I had joked to others that we got WAY better reception down in Florida than we do here in Ontario.

We have each a Roger's phone, and we bring both phones, so if we seperate and cannot find each other, we can call each other! :goodvibes :goodvibes

I have a FIDO phone and actually get charged International Roaming Fees every time I go to work which is RIGHT along the border. So, as far as I know, it should work anywhere in the US but could be a little pricey.

However, if you are staying on site and you would like someway of tracking your little ones, you could also get a pager that is connected to your room. You could give your kids the room number and have a pager (from the front desk) connected to your room phone. I believe a pager service is available at any onsite hotel. So, I think it should work!?!

We have a Rogers family plan and 2 phones and got the US plan added before we went and it more than paid for itself. You just cancel it before your next billing cycle when you get home and it works perfectly!

We did, but we only used it on the evening DW and I went "out on the town" and left the kiddies behind with a sitter.

Great info! We usually use 2 ways, but with being there just after Christmas and 2 teenagers that know there way around Disney very well, I think the US plan with Rogers will be a fabulous idea.

We have telus and it worked for us in Florida. We had to use 2x, once at the airport to call our car service, and once at the parks to call our resort.
