We planned our 1st trip to WDW at the end of September thinking there wouldn't be huge crowds. I heard people talking about walking on all the rides with no lines. We experienced quite the opposite. We had an amazing time, but it was just a lot busier than I had hoped.

We are planning our next trip, and I have read that the first 2 weeks of December are really slow. Is this true? I'm thinking the marketing geniuses at WDW are going to make sure there is no slow season!!!

The humidity also nearly killed us 3 Canadians. :rotfl2: How is the weather in December? My DD loves to swim. Will that be possible?

TIA

Hi Laurie!!

Crowds were definately impacted by the Free Dining promotion Disney offered in September and early October. Usually, September is a very slow month, but a lot of people took advantage of the great deal.

December is a great time of year to travel!! Holiday decorations are up, weather is great, and crowds are low. Plan for mid-December (2nd week of December), and you'll have a blast!!

My family most always goes @Thanksgiving but one year we had a "girls only" trip during Veteran's Day week (first week or two of November). We were shocked at the small amount of people there even though the food and wine festival was going on. It was fabulous and I think you'd love the mild weather(low or no humidity, warm days/mild nights and you can always use the heated pools) If it weren't for the fact that I don't have to use as much vacation on Thanksgiving week I'd always go early in November and enjoy the food and wine festival. Have a great trip whenever you decide to go.
