Hi!
I've read several posts about buying rain ponchos at home before your trip. What stores have them, where in the store (what department) will I find them in , and do they come in toddler sizes, too?
Secondly, I read a suggestion about bringing ear plugs. My 4yo is very sensitive to loud noises and I think ear plugs are a fantastic idea. Do they make "kid size" ear plugs, or are people just using the ones made for adults? Also, what style works best for little ones? Where can I find them?
Thanks!

Well the ponchos i purchased were from the dollar store! We're not expecting much rain maybe a little because of wilma and we leave Wens! but other than that ! And Earplanes for children they reduce noise and pressure! You can get them at Eckerd Drugstore, Cvs almost any pharmacy! I got our at Eckerd and they make them both for Children and adults! There about $6 ea
also bring some lollipops for him to suck they worked for my son last time he was 1 1/2 now he's 6 and he is very sensitive to noise! so I purchased the earplanes.

I just purchased a few rain poncos (jacket style with hood) at Target in the dollar section. They had orange and blue to pick from. I haven't had to use them yet but as long as they keep me dry...I spent $1 so even one time usage is good enough for me.

I also purchased our ponchos (blue) from Target in the dollar section, but they are only adult sizes. I saw the kids sizes at Wal Mart for $0.97. :umbrella: As far as earplugs, try any pharmacy.
Hope this helps.

I think that the ponchos depend on what time of year you go. We just got back from WDW 2 weeks ago. They did sell them at pretty much every register. (parks and resorts) There were a large amount of people wearing them, but when it rains when it is 80-90 Degrees outside, IMHO the rain feels good... do you really need them? If you are going when it's colder, I would buy at the $$ store and throw them out, because I m not willing to give up the valuable space in my luggage.

For our last trip Feb 2004, I bought rain ponhos at the dollar store but they were terrible! they were thin, like garbage bags and blew off in the rain and wind. I had 2 different types, one came form the dollar store and one from walmart. After starting to get wet with the rain ponchos blowing off we invested in the Mickey ones from Disney. They were not expensive and well worht every penny. It poured BUCKETS our last night. The rain was awful! But thanks to our ponchos - we stayed all night and had the best time of our whole trip in the rain! I saved the ponchos and have them to use on this trip in 2 WEEKS! Yea! Also I have posted before on my favorite things... headphones to reduce noise for kids. My younger son hates loud noises and we bought earplugs but they fell out and they actually blocked too much noise my son couldn't hear the rides through them well. We bought headphones that I bought at walmart in the hunting section -they are meant for target practice. They were fabulous!!! My son was able to hear the ridesbut a lot quieter. He was clam and loved having them to reduce the noise. HTH. Chris.
We bought these for my 6 year old (at the time) and they worked GREAT! We attached a sunglass strap to them and she just wore them around her neck when we were doing loud rides.

Another suggestion for ear plugs is if you cannot locate ones that fit into your childs ear canal (which can occur even with child sizes), the "Puddy buddies" for swimming which are able to be formed will block out a certain amount of noise as well.

Just remember, these DO NOT go into the ear canal.
