Aren't the World Trade Center buildings part of the fighting going on at the end of the ride? It would be a shame that the ride could possibly remind people of the tragedy of recent events.

Anyone know if this is accurate???? We are still planning to go on our trip to Universal at the end of the month and I have been looking sooooo forward to the Spiderman ride. What if they shut it down!!!!

Maybe you should both reread my post. I said NOTHING of the ride shutting down. Your imaginations are working overtime. I was simply asking if in the final scenes of the ride the WTC buildings are part of the scenery because I believe they are and was concerned that people would be reminded recent events while on the ride. I don't think UO would change the scenery anyway because it would probably cost them millions to do so.

I don't think the WTC towers are seen in the Spiderman ride. On the other hand, Sony has pulled all trailers, posters, etc. for the Spiderman movie due out next year. The trailer was pretty cool and showed a helicopter caught in a giant web built between the two World Trade center towers.

I don't recall the WTC in the Spider-Man ride. I will check this weekend! :)

Even if they were in the ride, it wouldnt matter. It takes place at a semi-fictional place at a fictional time. If the towers existed at a time when whatever book, movie, or song was being created, then it was accurate as of that time. Its not like everything with reference to the disaster has to be yanked off the shelves.

Chris,

I agree, but in the world of political correctness, that usually does happen. Things that offend a large number of people seem to always get changed, IMO.

I paid a visit to Spidey today and kept an eye out for the towers. I didn't see them anywhere during the ride, so I wouldn't expect anything to change there. In the queue though, instead of the 2 videos that played in the "Newsroom" and "Spider" rooms, there is now a single new video that plays in both. While the previous videos were of a "breaking news" type whose purpose was to inform guests of the plot, the new one is a type of documentary about the Daily Bugle that tells its history from its beginnings as a small paper to the present with the Scoops. It's animated and in the same style of the previous videos. There may be more to it but the line was so short I breezed through in only a couple minutes.

Also, I noticed that the large Bugle story hanging on the wall as you exit has been removed. I didn't notice if any of the ones in the queue were.
