Can anyone tell me if it is feasible to walk from the Crowne Plaza Universal to the Universal Parks? Their website puts it at less than a mile from the park. I realize we are probably talking busy roads, but if there are crosswalks and signals that would be fine. Anyone????

What's the address of the hotel? There are a few of them. Plus it lists the Holiday Inn as a CP hotel. If you're talking about the Holiday Inn next to the TGIFridays, then you can walk. Otherwise, the one at 7800 Universal Blvd is too far away to walk. It's more like 2 miles from that location. I wouldn't do their shuttle thing either. Most of the time, they only run 2 times a day, and they are not reliable.
Rent the car, you're paying for convience and being able to get to the parking garage at 8am.

Its on the corner of Sandlake and Universal Blvd.
I walk 4.5 miles one way to work and this walk seems a little too far for me. There are sidewalks and even bike lanes to Universal but it is a trek.

Yes, it is the 7800 Universal Blvd. address. So, more like 2 miles?? Going to wouldn't be bad, but after a day of walking that could pose a problem with my little guy. Thanks for the info!

My dh and I are staying at the Crowne Plaza - 7800 Universal Blvd - too
We are checking in on 11/18 and leaving 11/20 and going to Orange Lake till the 26th.
Yeah the walk I was told is to long to walk so your better off renting or shuttle (not me)
I hope this helps

I don't know if this means anything to you, but we stayed there on our pre vacation night 2 years ago. We loved it. What a nice hotel. But, it was only for one night so I can't comment on their transportation. The thing that gets me is their price has gone up over double. We paid in the $60s (per night) to stay there. Now it's so much more. But, we really liked it. Very pretty and quiet. Nice pool and jacuzzi.

Thanks to all for your help. The Crowne Plaza does look really nice. So maybe we'll just get a car. The Holiday Inn (next to T.G.I.F), although closer, has some pretty awful reviews on Travelocity! Especially with regard to dampness and musty/moldy smells! That would turn me off, but probably not bother my husband who claims I have a "bionic" nose!! We use Priority Club points, so it would have to be between those two.
