My niece loves to draw, color, etc. I'm thinking of getting her a stamp set for x-mas but I don't know where to get one that's geared more toward her age. She's definately above little kid sets but adult sets are too much....
Sorry if this doesn't make sense....
I appreciate any help!! :sunny:

Check out the kids craft area of Michael's and TRU. I got a great kids alphabet stamp set (for myself!) at TRU earlier this year for about $10. .....................P

I just saw a folder with Disney stamps in it at Michaels within the last week or two. I think it may have actually been for kids, but could be wrong. The stamps were relatively flat (not chunky like you usually think of stamps being) and were clear. I think the clear ones are easier to work with myself.

what about the ink in the stamp pad?? do they sell washable ink?? I don't have a youngin' so I'm not sure...
my son received a really great art kit awhile ago.. colored pencils, markers, artist chalk, oil crayons, oil paints, paintbrushes...etc.. what about something like that?? :confused3
our local craft store has TONS of those small lunhbox looking cases with artsy stuff for all ages.. stickers & stickerbooks, jewelry making, clay, paint & brushes, etc...

Good point about the ink! I didn't even think about it. I'm not sure that what I saw even had an ink pad though. I was looking at the stamps trying to see if there were enough different ones than what I already had to see if I really wanted to spend money on it.
However, when DD was that age I generally took the ink away from her & replaced it with a washable one. Crayola makes ones - I don't know who else does. If you're looking at Mikes, though, the Crayola stuff won't be with the regular stamping supplies - at least it isn't in our store. It's kept with the other kids stuff.

Yes you can buy washable ink pads. When DS's were younger I used to get them in the regular stamping aisle of Michaels. They were called Kid's Pad washable ink pads. Some of the rubber stamp sets that they liked best were the Lion King set, sea animals, safari animals and the Face Case. If they still carry that they had a lot of fun with it. It has a lot of stamps in it of face parts: eyes, noses, mouths, hair etc. where you can make up many different combinations for funny faces.
