I just booked with Magical Memories Travel for the end of Aug 06. They are doing a fundraiser to benefit the Foundation for the Advancement of Autistic Persons. We will be at POFQ and their rate is $94/night not including tax. They are using a few select resorts. If anyone is interested they should contact them directly for a quote. Dawn is the agent who helped me. According to their website the dates are from 8/26- 9/4/06. Hope this info can help out someone!

I don't have the link with me because I am at home at the moment. I found out about it because I had asked for a quote the end of August and they then linked me the page. I was able to book the rate from that point.

I also booked during this time, we are doing two rooms at ASMovies:)
The website you can look at is:
**I tried to type it in, but apparently they block it on this website, how weird***
I don't want to get in trouble for posting it so I'm editing it. I would say go to their website and email Dawn. She can then send you the info on it.

**I tried to type it in, but apparently they block it on this website, how weird*** There are a few other threads on this topic, the management of The DIS reserves the right to edit or remove any post that they wish, including filtering the sites that compete with their sponsors.

Many discussion boards do this.

Yeah, I am getting tired of all the posts pushing this travel agency, am glad Pete is finally realizing the solicitation as well.

I can see the boards not wanting competition, but if Magical Memories Travel can provide a better rate than the sponsors, and I do see that alot, why shouldn't they be advertised to us Disney fanatics!!!

Beacuse it is through the support of Dreams Unlimted that these boards exist without you or I paying for them. I think that if MM has a promotion they should openly advertise on their own boards, or website. Perhaps they should have their own boards to sponsor.

Because this message board is owned by the same person that owns Dreams Unlimited Travel. Even though it is two different names it is run by the same person

I am very leary of this as I can't find this promotion anywhere on their website. If they are offering it why isn't is listed there? You would think it would be listed front and center

It's there and I just received confirmation from WDW and it says on the confirmation $59/night. Just email them and ask about it. I've also just used them for my last vacation and they were the fastest to respond, and the nicest to work with.

As for pushing this ta on everyone, I don't think anyone is doing that. They are having a deal and if people can book for less I don't see what the problem w/ it is. Its ok to post that if they book directly through AAA, but not others??? A lot of people ask what their preferred ta is and we are able to respond, I guess just not post the web address.

DITTO! adding: and got me the best deal, willing to try a zillion and one combinations to save me a few bucks! also extremely accomodating when it came to my son's food allergies and calling every restaurant we had a ps for (and it was an 11 day trip, so LOTS of ps') 48 hours in advance to remind them of his allergy... something i was happy not to have to do every day on vacation! :)

I originally posted this thread trying to help people save money since this is the codes and rates board. I agree with Disneynut - AAA is listed all over the boards and no one complains. I booked with Magical Memories Travel and am very happy. Sorry if I offended anyone - I guess I wasn't being helpful when I posted - I thought that the point of posting here was to try to save people money. If you want to over pay with another agency for the same time period than that is your choice.

AAA rates for room only can be booked by any travel agency that is why it is allowed

Dreams Unlimited is the sponsoring TA site of this board. It seems that most of the other agencies and their clients respect this by not posting special rates or links, etc. It is one thing to praise a specific agency for outstanding service or to ask questions, but IMHO, Dreams Unlimited should be the only agency to allowed to post specials, incentives, etc.

Alot of the other agencies pay what I am sure is significant sponsorship fees on other websites. Most of them, in fact, do not promote their specials on those message boards...just on their websites.

We all love to save money and I am sure MMT does a wonderful job for their clients, as do many of the other fine online agencies. Kudos to all of them!

IMHO this board is for discussing rates and codes from Disney...not specials offered by specific agencies.

Well, personally I feel that saving someone money would be a plus to offer, but apparently its against rules or guidelines. I apologize if I offended anyone and my lips will remain zipped about this kind of thing from now on.

You may want to think of it this way - would a restaurant want you posting flyers in it about the latest deal of their competitor across the street?

I see so many different travel agencies posted on this board, so many that I have never heard about of course cuz I'm new to the whole planning aspect, I've heard about at least 6-7 different agencies, people have posted their opinions and so forth. I'm just not so sure why this is such a big deal.....but either way happy with my rate. Guess when I see another agency name mentioned I'll run screaming to the next thread. :goodvibes

This is also a very slow season for Disney so rates are lower. School is back in session and it's hurricane season. These are still great rates but I am surprised they don't advertise it on their front page. This would be a fabulous trip for family's with autistic children also.
