View Full Version : My dream job just became available!! (update pg 2)

I really want to work in the music industry and have spent the last 3 years running webzines and trying to get experience. My current 'zine is www.heathenangel.co.uk (http://www.heathenangel.co.uk) which has been going 2 years now and is getting so successful we may soon have to scale it down as we have no free time anymore! We've managed to score some huge interviews including Queens of the Stone Age, Ash, Kasabian and others with number 1 albums!

My ideal job would be in music press but, living this far outside of London and not willing to relocate there I wasn't holding out much hope. This week I've found that a PR company I've dealt with for a few years has got an opening for an Assistant Press officer! They're based in Hebden Bridge and when I spoke to my contact there and told him my experience he sounded interested and is reviewing my CV this weekend. The company deal with Depeche Mode, Fatboy Slim, Erasure and Robbie Williams to name a few.

Keep your fingers crossed for me everyone!!!

Well I sent in my CV last night and today I've had an email asking if I could go in for a chat Mon or Tues morning. Got to be a good sign!

Interview 10am Monday morning, dress code is casual so I think smart casual is in order there. One problem, they want me to make a list of my top 10 albums and why they're in there!!!! OMG I can't think "why" I like any albums! I doubt "Disney's Greatest Hits - because it reminds me of great holidays" is gonna go down too well at a music industry job either! This is gonna take a lot of working out!
