Now that all flights have been suspended "Until further notice", what advice should I give my neighbors due to leave from Columbus early Saturday morning? If they resume flights, say, Friday, will all of the flyers from Tuesday on be given first priority? They are a family of 5 who have been planning this trip all summer from Sept. 15-22. I don't think they can rearrange dates with work, etc. What are the odds things running close to normal by the weekend?

I would think that the people who hold tickets for that flight will be honored first, then those that were cancelled on Tues and Weds will be given the opportunity to fill in what is left. That would be my understanding. We are scheduled to fly out of Columbus on Delta at 6:30 am Sunday morning. So, hopefully things will be going by then. Watch and wait is all we can do right now. I also have a van reserved from the Cleveland airport just incase something happens with the flight status.

Thanks Scott. I see you live in Oak Harbor--I teach in Oregon.
Hope everything works out for people travelling this weekend.

given they still haven't rescheduled the flights, I would cancel the trip. The people who NEED to get somewhere should be the ones on the flights. I feel it's too soon for a pleasure trip. That's my opinion though others may disagree.
