I would like to say a big thankyou to all the DISers that have treated the loan of these disks with so much respect. Lets face it alot of hands have been on these and they are apparently still working a treat. I have lent films to people for a week and they have comeback looking like the cat ate the dinner of them.

It is also nice to see the disks at the end of this going to two good homes for very differing reasons. :cheer2:

Thanks so much Tron and Cochise for sharing these. I loved watching them and they have made me want to revisit some of the attractions we haven't done for a while. I'm also hoping my son will be willing to try some more rides now he has seen what they are like for himself. I was amazed at the amount of bonus items on them especially on the Animal Kingdom disc 2 and all the old footage of Walt Disney was great. :thumbsup2

I do hope they were recorded, as that was pretty much the only thing I asked for at the beginning......although technicaly the ones that have possibly gone astray are Rob's disks, and I guess he never technicaly stipulated his disks were sent in this way.

No i didnt technically state how they should be posted or even untechnically either. But at the end of it all i didnt expect to have them returned when this has completed, it was only other DISers that would suffer for them being lost. Jen UK received the discs I sent on 31st March but posted that she was moving home that day. As she hasn't posted since, I would think she probably still has them but perhaps her computer isn't connected yet or she hasn't had time to watch them. I know last time we moved it took weeks to get organised again.

I tried the track and trace today and it says they have not yet been delivered which we know! I went into the post office and they said I will have to wait 21 days before they will do anything. The lady also said that the post is still very slow here because of Easter and they will probably be delievered in the next few days when the backlog has been sorted.

With regards to requests to move lists.

I would like my discs on the 2nd list to be ended as it stands and no more names be added. They are ending this way at my request for a particular reason and i would like that to remain unchanged.

Before any replies to this are written I would think that it is safe to say that many of the people who have had the disks already could help out at this point?

I have a hunch that they post office attempted to deliver the disks but took them back to the sorting office, neglecting to leave a card, hence the recipient never knew they had arrived. Eventualy the post office will return to sender.
If they havent shown up by the time I return from my trip to WDW (2 days to go now!), Ill do some more and restart the list....I just havent got the time to re-do 5 disks and get to the post office beforehand.
I could do with the recorded delivery reference number so I can check it on my return please.

I have filled in a form and it is now being dealt with, they said is if definately a possibility that it is sat at a sorting office, in which case it will eventually get redelivered back to me. If they can't find it compensation will be given, but lets hope its sitting getting dusty on a shelf and turns up!!

I have to say that sorry, its not looking too good. Its been over a month with the same person now, and as I understand it, Private messages have had delivery/read receipts returned, but no actual reply by the person concerned. So its looking like the list has halted where it is now.
As I have said, there may be circumstances we don't know about, but for them not to be relayed to us, and worse, private messages ignored, Its not looking good is it, we can only assume the worst if we're not told otherwise.

We will give it a little while longer before we assume we have a thief in our midst.

If the next person on the list happens to be near swindon, you are welcome to go round to collect the disks personaly, just PM me for the address.

Well, Sadly this thread has now come to an official end. Myself, Sue & Rob set a deadline of yesterday for Lil_Missy to reply, and sadly she hasnt.
Time to draw a line in the sand and apologise to anyone who missed out. To those who were fortunate and decent enough to participate, Im glad you all enjoyed it, and thankyou for your gratitude at the time. Sadly not everyone is as reliable and trustworthy are you were.

A fair but biting your lip post Dave. Like you say everyone participated in the best way which really says to me what the DIS has become to me over the past couple of years, a place full of great like minded people. Fortunately no matter how angry we are nobody apart from one has been tarnished so lets forget that. Lets put the lid on it and move on. Big thanks to Dave for the original idea that i merely jumped in and helped out on as it become clear this was a monster.

Im very sad that they never got to everybody in the end, and I apologise to those who never had the chance to see them. :sad2:

I still would like to think that there is a genuine reason for them not being sent back and as such I do hope that Lil Missy feels as though she can pm me or Dave at any time with an explanation for their whereabouts.

That said, Dave, Rob and I agree its time to call it and day and move on, so with that said this thread will now be closed.
