Hi all

For all of those stressed out or saddened that they did not get a pin code yet - wanted to tell you that the discount they are offering is really not very good at all.

I was trying to book a trip that was as follows:

Jan 29 - Feb 2
4 nights at Pop - standard room
4 day ticket (no hopping)
plus dining

I had been quoted $980 (w/o trip ins) by AAA for this deal.

Got a pin code via email today -- so excited!! On the phone with CRO for 1 hour!!! while she tried to figure out how to use the code.

Long story short - here was the Code Package from Disney Directly

Jan 29-Feb 2
4 nights at Pop - standard room
3 day hopper ticket
2 days of plus passes
dining
(so the package difference between AAA and pin code was 1 less day of tickets but hopping and 2 plus passes) === $963.20

I did not think it was a great deal. I get to hop and I get plus passes (but I am only there 3 full days so I had no intention of using plus passes) and it is only $16.80 less than AAA.

Anyway - just wanted to share with people that the new discount email codes seem to be free plus passes and a *small* room discount (equivalent to the AAA discount it appears)

I booked the WDW package but I am hoping to hear about some other deals between now and then that let me drop the pluses and hopefully get free dining - that is what I am hoping for!

Any questions - glad to answer them!

Did you get dinning with the package you booked with Disney??? If so and if I read right that that would be a pretty good deal, at least I think. Also how many are you going with?

Hi

I did receive the dining plan and it is for 2 adults - 3 day hopper and 4 nights of hotel and no travel insurance. I guess the reason I was disappointed with the pin code is becuase the pin code is supposed to be this great big discount (several hundred dollars) and the pin code only saved for $16.80 off the price I already had (for the same package) thru AAA. Therefore, the savings were not significant, in my opinion.

I used a pin code when I travelled to WDW for a week in Sept and saved almost $500 with it - therefore $16.80 in comparrison did not seem substantial.

I guess the point of my posting was to tell others who were sad they had not recieved a code that they could book a very similar package thru AAA as they could book thru WDW with a code for almost the SAME price.

Did you calculate the savings based on a non-AAA package also? I'd like to see that comparison.

I looked up the OP's requests (with hopping, plus and dining) at the disney world site and the price was $1195.70 and $1315.60 w/ trip insurance, so there is definitely a savings.

I wouldn't call it crappy. Everybody doesn't have AAA or have any intentions of getting it (like me), so pins like this are helpful.
