I posted this in the Community board too, but thought someone here may be able to help me.

Ok, I am getting SO annoyed with these little bugs, and I'm hoping someone here can help me. At first we thought we had fruit flies, tried the apple cider vinegar trap...apparently whatever these things are do not like apple cider vinegar. DH fertilized the grass this weekend, and we're thinking maybe they came out of that and snuck in our house, but we don't know what they are so we don't know how to get rid of them! Theres a lot upstairs, by lights, by water, tons were in my daughters diaper genie (attracted apparently to poop) so we put that in the garage. They're always 1 at a time but everywhere! They look like a slightly bigger fruit fly, very fast, look kindof mosquito - ey too. Does anyone have any idea what these could be or any suggestions to get rid of them? I'm willing to try many suggestions. Thank you!

if you have house plants .....for some reason......in the late summer early fall, every time I water my indoor plants the bugs appear.......or you could be having no seeums........those little buggies that like to come thru the screens..

I am having the same exact problem. I decided to come here to see if anyone posted this problem and sure enough....

I've heard about vinegar...bleach....amonia (not together)...but other people said these didn't help.

I'm just curious to know what type of insect they actually are.

If anyone has suggestions...I too would be interested!!!

Update - I posted on community board too, and someone said they're living in the drains. So, as they suggested, I got some foam liquid plumber, poured some in each drain (except the tubs...don't want DDs sitting in liquid plumber) and then poured hot water down afterwards. They seemed mostly in the garbage disposal. Its been a few days and slowly the number have gone down. Hopefully this worked.

OMG! I have these, too. Hopefully the liquid plumber helped. I'm going to get some.

Hello,

Last summer my kids left some bananas in our camper van. One heat wave and two weeks passing equaled many fruit flies. LOL. I cleaned. I vacuumed. I sprayed. But the buzzing pests remained.

With some searching I found instructions on how to make your own fruit fly traps at Deadeasy. Follow that name with a period and the word com and it will give you a way to rid yourself of the flies. If you have orange juice and a pop bottle you have a cure!

Good luck, :wave2:
