Okay, how bad is this...

EIGHT weeks ago my employer (CBC) locks me out, I'm so enterprising that I go out and get freelance work - 40+ hours a week and I do my picket duty of 20 hours... now CBC is welcoming us back to work on Tuesday and I'm so burnt out I want a vacation!!!

I can't wait 2 more months!

Is it time yet? Is it time yet? :Pinkbounc

I'm getting antsy and there's still so much time in between!!

I wish we had a Disney Quest up here...that would help enormously. :hyper:

Glad to hear the lock out is over. :cheer2:
Sorry to hear you're burnt out. I hope the next 2 months go sailing by and you have a GREAT vacation.

Hi :wave2:
Now that the lock-out is over, are the negotiations back on again? Please keep us informed on how things are going.
I hope you will be able to find some time to put your feet up and relax...walkin' the line can be hard on the tootsies. ;)

There is a tentative agreement in place which all membership across the country has voted on since Thursday and tonight the results are that 88.4% voted to ratify it.

The CBC management fools and our Union heads were summoned to Ottawa a couple weeks ago and had to hash it all out with Minister Joe Fontana and the fed's negotiators and the management lost LARGE in this. They wanted some unreal conditions such as an unlimted contract only work force (no permanent workers!!!), losing rights to layoff and recall, etc... think of other nasty things your employer can do to you... etc...

What was really harsh about the whole thing was even walking around with signs that say "Locked Out", some fools actually had the nerve to tell us to end the "strike" and go back to work and accept the fricking deal. We got it every day on the street... Um, can't you read moron? I've even had friends email me lately and say things like "it's so good the strike is now over, can't wait for hockey!" Um, again my employer threw us out, we didn't walk for fun! We did give our Union a strike mandate and that was becuase we didn't like the offer management had given us. It sucked quite frankly and it looks like the federal government agreed.

And to people who whined about their taxes... I'm sorry your tax dollars are going down the pipe right now, mine are too. Perhaps you might like to see Robert Rabinovich answer this question seeing as though he has orchestrated 3 LOCK-OUTS in his Presidential reign...

I'm sorry to sound soooooo fecicious, did I mention I have some pent up anger from the last 8 weeks???

8 weeks is a long time to be locked out, wondering and worrying about your future. Sounds like things are starting to look up...considering your employer had you down to rock bottom.
I hope by the time you are to leave for Disney, everything is signed, sealed and delivered. :teeth:
