I got mine in the mail today. It says some restrictions apply. See store for details.

I got my DC Newsletter with this info in it last week. I don't THINK that you need a coupon for this promotion. But if you do, I would imagine that you can get it from the website. I THINK that the address is www.disneyclub.com
They are supposed to have the most up-to-date info on discounts there.
Good Luck and Happy Shopping! :)

I am totally confused by this. Do they offer discounts in some areas but not others? I checked the site and couldn't find any info and I went into the store Sunday the 16th and none of the cm's working there knew anything about this at all. One girl even mentioned she is a DC member herself and had not received anything personally either. I didn't know they would offer a discount in one area but not another:-(

Thanks for the help!

Hi CatOne!

Just another case of us knowing more than the CMs again! :D
Check out

THIS LINK (http://disneyclub.disney.go.com/dynamic/MembersOnly/DisplayOffer?id=TDS006_1604&sctnID=80&groupID=0) . You will have to sign in first. If you don't get directly to the page and end up on the home page, click on the Merchandise button on the left side of the page. There it tells you all about it. Everyone who is a DC member is entitled to this discount.
Happy Shopping! :)

Thank you so much Beth R. Now, I just hope I saved my receipt from Sunday!! One more question, is this offer valid for sale items? Has anyone used it for sale items yet? Thanks again!! You guys are the best source for Disney info ever!!!

Have a great day!!

Yes! It's valid on sale items. I just got my DD a very cute Bear in the Big Blue House tee-shirt/short-alls set (size 3T for next year) for $7.19 including all discounts. It was originally $24.

Went to the Disney Store close to work & presented copy of page from above poster's link of Disney Club website, explaining the 20% off. After much confusion, I was told my Disney Club card was not what I needed to get the 20% off. They said I needed a coupon or the ad from the Disney Club newsletter. I told them I didn't think you needed a coupon, but they insisted, so I purchased my items at the regular 10% discount. When I got home (persistant person I am) I called another local Disney Store AND the Disney Club. Both told me there is no coupon or paperwork necessary, and I could go for a price adjustment. So, I call the store I went to back to let them know (persistant person I am :]) and they still tell me I need the newsletter. I wish the sales info would get to the stores and the CM BEFORE they begin, as it would save me and other clubmembers embarrasment.

frannn..I am with you as far as the persistence goes!! I fired off an email to the Disney Club and here is the number I received to call about my "benefits". 800-654-6347. This is proably the regular number but I have been too busy to call today to find out what the problem is!! Here is my experience, I printed the info off the website given above by Beth R. I took it in with me and two of the three people in the store were clueless, one of them being a manager. The first cm told me I must need a coupon when I pointed out to her the info clearly stated that I did NOT need a coupon but simply to present my card she took it to the other two managers there. One knew the deal. When I went to check out she did ask if I had a letter and the girl told her I was the one who brought the info in from the DC's website. The manager then told me that they knew about it but were not allowed to mention it themselves. I told her that was not the case as I was in there Sunday the 16th and was told they knew nothing of the info. She looked at me kinda funny, like they should have known, but she didn't say anything else. SO, if you were not one of the lucky Dis members to get this info on the board or a letter you are being cheated out of your extra 10% and even if the cm's know they are not going to tell you!! I agree, unbelievable! You must call tomorrow and find out what in the world is going on and get your extra 10%!!! I know this is probably petty in the scheme of things, but I am with you, if that is what you are supposed to receive, then they should honor it!! Also, I want to call and find out the deal about the newsletter, which I have yet to receive, and why some members received this letter and others did not. I was never told when I joined that there might be times when special benefits were offered to a select few and if that is the case I am not interested in the DC for the future. Please post and tell me what happens. Like I said, I may be silly but this annoying the heck outta me.

Okay, after reading B3Lm and Frann's post I called the DC! I got a very nice representative that told me that they only knew about this because one of the cm's she works with is a member and brought in her letter to let them know what is going on! This was really handled poorly. She read the letter and said it didn't even make much sense as there is actually one little sentence mentioning a coupon but there is NO coupon!! She said maybe they wanted us to bring our letters or at least print it off the site since you could not access this if you were not a member. She said they definitely do not limit any specials to one area etc. SO, Frann, she said to call them and they would handle it for you and be sure you got the correct price. Her name was Erin, probably a million cm's but I just thought I'd let you know. Also, if you happen to get someone that doesn't know what's going on, ask for someone else. Best of luck!!!

I am finding this all absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! The DC promotes its website as the place to go for the most current information on DC benefits. And on the WEBSITE it says that all you have to do is to present your DC card.
About the mailing - I am sure that it was not meant for any "targeted" area, sometimes it just takes time to get on the list. And if it is at all like the newsletter for the Annual Passholders, some people have their passes for the entire year and never receive the mailings!!! Disney seems to be very lax in this area (as well as the area of communication of Discount information. )
I would encourage everyone to be very persistant in this matter. You have paid $30 or $40 dollars to be a member of this "club" and you should be entitled to ALL of the benefits - WITHOUT hassle!!!

CatOne
09-18-2001, 10:55 PM
yep, they really let the ball drop on this one. By the way BethR, I went to the site by way of disney.com and I still don't see anything on their site about the discount!! The only way I find it is to go through the link you gave us!!! The cm I talked to assured me I would begin to receive the newsletters, which I have not up to this time, but she also told me the newsletters they have for September do not mention this at all!!! She assured me they do not target certain areas and that a benefit for one member is a benefit for all members. SO, I sent off another email. I used the addy that is at the bottom of the newsletter on their site to tell them a special trip etc. OR to let them know how you feel about the club. Which right now is not so great. I let them know that in a nice but firm way. I think we should all send them an email on this one!!! It is unfair that people are missing out on this. 20% may not seem like a lot but it all adds up and when combined with the other sale prices it can save quite a bit. I hope this one gets straightened out and the next promotion for the DC is handled better.

Well this is all very DUMB!!!
I too feel like I am on a mission, and I have not tried to GET the discount yet!!!
After I got off line last night I went to get my DC Newsletter that I received about a week ago. I looked at all of the coupons enclosed - NOTHING for the Disney Store. I looked at every article - NOTHING about the Disney Store. Well I am drving myself crazy thinking that I KNOW that I read this SOMEWHERE!!! So I looked at everything once again. And there - on the page where they print the address is the notice :
"Save 20 % on your purchase at Disney Store when you present your Disney Club card, September 16-29, 2001. Some restrictions apply; see store for details. Not applicable on catalog or on-line orders."
This is printed in ink - just like they print your name and address.
OK Fine. So no mention of a coupon that does not exist. Good.
THEN I get on-line this AM and read CatOne's post above me about how she cannot get to the page in the Disney Club site anyway but by my direct link. So I go to the DC site to give everyone directions on how to find that page. Here it is : Go to www.disneyclub.com Sign in. When you get to the home page click on the Merchandise button on the left side of the page. That page will take you to the next page where you will see a link (the second one down the page) that says:
Twice the Reason to Visit the Disney Store .
When you click on THAT you go to the page that gives the details about the discount BUT - if you read the fine print - the "Offer Limitations" - Read CAREFULLY

You must present your Disney Club Card to receive your 20% discount. *Not valid on theme park passes, Disney Dollars, gift certificates, gift cards, pre-sales, animation art (all cells and limited edition prints), Walt Disney Classics Collection, or shipping and handling. Not valid in combination with any other offer or discount. Redeemable only by presentation and relinquishment at a Disney Store location in North America. Not valid through Disney Catalog or Disneystore.com. Not valid on previous purchases, phone orders or price adjustments. Merchandise must be in stock at the time of purchase and can only be exchanged for identical items or returned at the discounted price with a valid sales receipt. Void where prohibited. Coupon has no cash value. Employees of The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries and their immediate families are ineligible.

WHAT must be RELINQUISHED? And WHAT Coupon??? It does not EXIST!!!

This has to be one of the DUMBEST things that Disney has done concerning discounts that I have seen in the 3 plus years that I have been on this board!!!
As CatOne said, someone surely has let the ball drop on this. And we, who have PAID for this membership, are the ones who being treated poorly by TDS CMs!!! GRRRRR
I too think that a letter writing campaign is in order!
And 20% IS a lot!!! If you buy $50 worth of merchandise, that is $10!!!

So please don't let this go, everyone. Disney has to do right by this! If there was SUPPOSED to be a coupon, allow it to be printed off of the DC site or SOMETHING!

To avoid confussion at the Disney Store I am bring a printed page from the web site where its says we get 20% off using our club card. 20% is alot off and expecially using it on sale items as well.

BethR, I feel for those people if you go in and they try to tell you they need a coupon, etc. Armed with all this info I think they will be sorry:-) Also, the things you mentined, relinquishing something the and coupon, the poor cm that was so nice to me read this and was totally confused by it also. She had no idea what it was supposed to mean. She thought that perhaps the "coupon" was referring to the letter some received or one they printed off the site. I FINALLY got the info on the site. I thought maybe I was crazy the other night but the cm said it was not always coming up either.....how could that be? WEIRD!!

Minnie Mouse.....just don't be too teribly surprised if that does not matter. If you go back and read frann's post that is exactly what she did and they told her she needed a coupon!! Even though the post clearly states that all you need to do is present you DC card to receive the 20%. It does not even ask for the newsletter! She called a nearby Disney store and the DC club and they told her she did not need a coupon and to take her receipt back to the store for an adjustment....guess what, they still wouldn't fix it!! Sorry, but if that had been me I would've been on my cell phone to the DC right there and they would have had to fix my price or I would have been escorted out by security. I don't mean to sound do rude, but come on, just read it!!! How hard is it to read that all you have to do is present your card at the time of purchase!!

I have yet to hear back form the DC, not surprised. They were very quick to send me an 800 # the other day but no real response about my complaint.

I also have to say that the one cm that knew about this discount was very strange about giving it out. She asked for my letter and she acted as if this was coming out of her own pocket. She admitted she knew about the 20% but they were not allowed to mention it to us...BUT she didn't and neither did anyone else in the store...I asked. Very strange!!!

LAST THING BUT IMPORTANT, make a copy of your letter, do not give them your only one, or make a re-print from the site. It does not say you are only allowed this discount one time so why they would take our letters is beyond me...and if you have the card...obviously you are a member and entitled to the discount.

Are there any Disney store cm's on this board that can help us out at all????

We have 2 Disney Stores in our town. I went to the one on the east side of town on Monday and bought one item. The CM seemed to know about the 20% when I mentioned it and she happily gave it to me. I had seen some cute outfits that were not available in my DD's size at the east store, so I went to the store on the west side of town yesterday. The CMs were totally clueless. They thought I needed to use the credit card. No, I insisted, I was to get 20% off and I read about it on the DC website. The manager finally gave me the 20%, but I think she thought I was fibbing. Of well, I got a very cute Cowboy Mickey shirt and shorts outfit with Micky on a bucking bronco for $11.19 ... original price was $28.

Good Job for sticking to your guns, Robin! Perhaps having all of the stuff printed out from thee DC site and taking it with you is the best way to be prepared. But it is just too bad that Disney does not sufficiently inform their CMs of this promotion.

Okay, all of you have had ANY problems with this please send an email to this address: clubnews@disneyclub.com. I emailed them yesterday and they emailed me back telling me that this was well posted and that all the Disney Stores were made aware of the 20% discount. HA! They went further to ask which store I had been to that was not aware of the discount. SO, please email them and let them know which store you went to that did not know about this. I informed them that I would be passing this info along to all of the people I knew that had a problem with this. I also asked them what coupon they were referring to and what exactly we were supposed to be relinquishing. I told them the cm I spoke to last night thought that was a very strange statement and had no idea what they meant. I also let them know that she told me that not all the newsletters had this information in them and that they certainly did have my correct address so that was not why I had not received my newsletters. Whew! Sorry so long!! I am really fired up now!! It was almost as if they thought I just felt like making this all up!! Yeah, I have nothing better to do than invent crazy stories about the Disney Club and the Disney Stores!!

I think where some of this confusion is coming from has to do with the Disney Credit Card. They also have a promotion where you get 20% off when you use your Disney Credit Card to make purchases at the Disney Store. However in order to this I think you do need the coupon. The Disney Club website and the newsletter clearly state that a coupon is not required for the discount.

disney4us2002

I think Disney is totally confusing the CM's because the 20% discount using the Disney Credit card is the same timeframe and you must present the coupon that was mailed. I did see the 20% using DC card in my newsletter and remember thinking what a shame that it was the same timeframe as my Disney Credit card coupon. I'll bet the relinquishment is referring to the mailed coupon sent to Disney credit card holders.

Just received my newsletter with this printed at the top today, I had planned to go to the local DS to spend some of my Disney dollars (called to verify that I could and the CM said yes it would be accepted as cash) since we cancelled our trip and thought this would do 2 things get a jump on Xmas with thte great discount and also help Disney in a small way because I would be purchasing from the store. Now I am wondering if it is going to be a big hassle... I'll let you know!!:)

I must have missed this coupon or I never got one..... I have a Disney Credit Card, but have not received any mailing from them.

I did use the DC 20 percent off this weekend in Omaha, NE. The CM looked at me like she had no clue what I was talking about, but she rang it up and said it took 20 percent off. Hmmmm...

Are they trying to confuse us, or their own CM's, or both??!??!?!?!
