I know it's been a while since Lauri (MeanLaureen) has posted, but I wanted to give you all an update and request some good thoughts, pixie dust, prayers, whatever you can send her way.

The past 4 months have gotten very bad for her. What was assumed to be a very bad episode of her AOSD has turned for the worst and she has been in and out of the doctor and hospital for tests.

Recently she started periodically losing the use of her hands and became extremely weak. Along with that, her vision starting going and she was having difficulty breathing.

Her doctor started running tests assuming that her muscles were inflamed like they were after she returned from the Pin Event last September and she was not looking forward to the biopsy or the 2 month bed rest she did last year.

Today the doctor laid a bombshell on her though. Apparently the lab tests are pointing in another direction they didn't expect.

They are pretty sure that she has developed Multiple Sclerosis in addition to the AOSD. :(. She goes back to the hospital on Friday for an MRI to see if they can confirm the diagnosis.

She's very scared and having a hard time dealing with this so I thought I would ask for any good thoughts or prayers that you could send her way.

Thanks.

Matt & Lauri, my thoughts & prayers are with you both. My sister has MS, so I have some understanding.

WOW!!

I am so amazed at everything you two have been through in these recent years. I just don't know what to say. Many "cliche's" come to mind, but if I were you I'm sure I wouldn't want to hear them. Don't blame you.

I pray you can continue to gain your strength from each other and keep on keeping on. And also that your FAITH will keep you perservering no matter what. It's the only thing that lasts and will see you through. Fred & I have experienced a tough life lesson this year, and it was our FAITH that sustained us.

You will both be in my prayers. May God be with you both.

Blessings,
Winnie

Matt, Lauri will be in my prayers tonight. I have been thinking of all the people who were here in 1999 when pin trading was in its infancy and you 2 will always be near and dear.

Best wishes for good health.

Lauri continues in my prayers. Maybe now (with the new diagnosis) they can find a way to make her life more comfortable. I know the first couple of months after hearing something of that sort are the hardest. I will be praying for her peace of mind while she (and you) adjust and deal with it.

WOW! Really sorry to hear this. I echo both NHMickey and olbear. I always think of you as I drive thru Southern VA on the way to/from WDW. Both of you are special to us. Missed you both earlier this month and was hoping for some good news and being able to see you next year. Still hoping, but this news is temporarily dampening those thoughts.
