We are heading to Disney World after our November 6th cruise. :sunny: For us to get to DW asap is it better for us to park at the port or park at the hotel (Marriott Courtyard Cocoa Beach) and take cab back to our car.

We aren't sure if leaving the port/ getting our car at the port is time more consuming then just jumping in a cab. Which brings up the question - are there plenty of cabs available? Thanks for you help. Dane

If you are going to have a car it is much easier to take that to WDW from the port then to park at the hotel which is in the other direction of WDW.....

As far as taxis....we found them to be almost non-existent on our several cruises. We were able to find one once because the shuttle line to Budget was over a 30 minute wait. Another time we waited a good 20 minutes for a taxi to get to the port. I would definately spend the parking fee and park at the port for your quickest getaway.

The port parking area is not a far walk at all from the terminal bldg and you can get a porter to bring the bags...just make sure to tip about $1-2 per per bag, more if really heavy!!!

Not sure what seating you have but regardless, you can eat up at Topsider's the last morning and then wait by the atrium doors for them to open, and off you go. If you have late seating and decide to eat in the dining room you might not get off the ship to almost 9:00.

Hey...we will be on that cruise(11/6), we are heading to WDW afterwards and had a thread going on disembarking about 3 months ago! You might want to do a search! For the most part, people said they were off the ship by 8:00/8:30!

Thank you both for the information. We figured that it would be quicker with a car but this is our first cruise and there are always unexpected obstacles

We have an early seating and definitley want to hit the road to DW asap so will eat early and wait by the door.

Aspiringcindy - perhaps we'll run across you on the ship. We are very excited - we just told our kids (5 and 2) that we are going on the cruise but are waiting to tell them about DW until the morning we are leaving the cruise. Thanks again. Dane

We had our rental car waiting for us in the parking lot after the cruise, we ran up to topsiders and grabbed a donut, got in line to disembark, we were one of the first ones off the ship and at the gates of magic kingdom as it opened!

We had early seating, went to the dining room for a full sit down breakfast and was still off the ship at 8:00 am for our towncar ride back to DW. We checked into BWV at 9:00 and was literally waiting for the rope drop of Blizzard Beach by 9:30 am. It was amazing and awesome! Great day.
