my husband wants to wear safety goggles over his prescription glasses on hulk, doom's fearfall & dueling dragons (so he can see on the ride!) - will he be allowed to do so?

You can probably do it if the glasses are secure to your head.

I've had good results with the sports straps that hook on to your glasses and keep them tight around you head. I would bet that these would work fine. They might be a little less bulky as well.

thank you both for your suggestions - i will get both safety goggles. as well as a sports strap (for my husband's glasses) so that he can decide for himself once he's there

I wear glasses but mine have the silicon one piece nose piece. it keeps them from sliding down my nose, but it also keeps them in place. I always wear my glasses on all the rides at IOA and US. I have also seen plenty of sunglasses and regular glasses in the catch net under the 0-G roll for the launch of hulk. You just have to know how secure your onw eye wear is. the sports safety strap sound like the best insurance.

DS almost lost his glasses on Hulk. We rode it several times and either got a locker or put them in his pocket (zippered one on his shorts) before we got on. He went to ride it by himself and forgot to take them off and felt them coming off in the first dive. He spent the entire ride triying to keep his hands on them. It was very funny but his arms hurt for several hours after it from the akward position they were in.

I always take plenty of contact lenses when I take a trip to an amusement park, and my (cheap) sunglasses have a sports strap that adjusts in the back and I haven't had any trouble. My wife has a pair of tinted lenses that hook over her prescription glasses, she also uses a sports strap and hasn't had any problems.
