Hi
can any one offer advice for the best way to get to the space centre without having a rental car.
I have priced a towncar and they work out at about $230?
what other options are there?
thanks for your help

Mears run a shuttle bus to KSC, picking up at Disney resorts. I don't know, however, if this includes DVC resorts - where will you be staying?

I took this trip a few years ago and was collected from POR in a Mears mini-bus. Just as I was beginning to think it would be a very exclusive trip for the two of us, we pulled into the DD parking lot and joined a big coach full of other mini-bus passengers for the trip to KSC ;). I assumed the mini-bus fleet goes to whichever Disney resorts have passengers for them, so I'm sure the DVC resorts would be as good as any of the others, but it would be a good idea to check first!

I don't remember the exact cost, but I think it was in the region of $20 pp (or it could have been about £20 pp - I thought it was pretty good value, anyway!).

We were picked up at around 8:30am and arrived at KSC at about 10:00am. We had to meet back on the bus by 5:00pm and got back to our resort around 7:00pm by the time we'd dropped everyone off en route.

I'd definitely consider this way again if I was car-less :)

We went in Aug. We paid $65 ( i think) per person with gator tours. They picked us up at VWL@ 8am. We did an airboat safari then arrived at KSC around 11am. We left KSC @ 5:30pm and got back at hotel @ 7:20 ish.

The price included entry into KSC.
We thought it was good value.
Although DH & myself were very disappointed with KSC, I guess nothing looks good compared to WDW ! :confused3

Let me know if you need any other info!

Hi we got a maximum pass, did bus tour etc.
We had more than enough time, but then again we were not that impressed. We actually went back to the bus @ 4:45.

If you wanted a longer time there you were able to have more time by not going on the airboat safari. Half of the coach did this and the rest went to KSC, the bus then returned an hour or later to take us there.

We caught the Mears shuttle 2 weeks ago and it cost us $20 per person. They picked us up from BWV and were very obliging coz they dropped us off at the ASM (where were staying for the weekend) on the trip home. They picked us up around 8:30 and we had to be back at the bus at 5:30 which was ample time. We got the basic pass (did the maximum pass 2 years ago and it wasn't worth it). Even for 6 of us we felt it was better value to catch the Mears shuttle than rent a car although all the hotel drop-offs at the end of the day were a bit tiresome.

We are hoping to be staying at Sea World Renissance for this part of the trip(i-Drive), then onto disney!.

I haven't posted for ages and I don't know the answer to your question but the Mears web site has a 'speak to one of our representatives now' link so they should be able to answer any questions you have. The Mears site is at http://www.mearstransportation.com/AttractionTrans.htm
Hope the link works.
