Hi, we are renting points in May 2006.
Does anyone know if can still make ADR and use the free parking valet even though we are not the members but would be technically a Member's "guests" ?
Also - any other DVC benefits that we are able to use, or on the other hand
aren't ?
Thanks.
Pat.

I think the perks are for members only. Not sure though but as noone else has answered..... :)

LOL miffy! I wasn't sure either, so was waiting for someone else to post first ;)
Pat, this might be a good question to raise on the main DIS DVC board if no-one here is sure of the answer. You're bound to get some feedback over there :)

When we rented in 2003 our room key still said "DVC Member" on it, and we did not pay for valet parking.
When we just stayed at BWV as members, no one asked us to show our membership card to prove we were entitled to free valet parking.
As a rule of thumb, "guests" of a DVC member get most of the perks and discounts the DVC member does. That was my experience when I rented points. However, if the owner of the points tells DVC you are a renter, you do not get the perks.
So you need to check with whomever you rented your points from to determine if you are a renter or a guest on the reservation.
Have a great trip!

I have contacted the member supplying our points and confirmed that we are listed as a "guest" and not a renter.
Can anybody tell me what services we can therefore avail of that a "renter" couldn't ? (I already know about the laundry & valet parking but are there any other "perks")
Thanks.
