RPR room deposit question...........

Forgive me, but I'm short on time and my "search" didn't turn up anything helpful.....I think I read if you reserve your room through the Universal site (or Loew's), they do NOT charge you the one night's rate on your credit card for a deposit? I forgot what I read a little while's back and am now wondering :scratchin who I book through that will charge you one night's deposit and who will not??? :confused3

I have only booked through the reservations phone #. I have only been charged a one night deposit ahead of time twice--and I have reserved this way on 7 or 8 occasions. The thread on this topic revealed that the same is true with the website--that you are informed you will be charged, you give your credit card #, but it is only hit or miss as to whether or not you will be charged.

I stayed in Aug. of 2004 and in also 2005 at the Royal Pacific, both times I made reservations with 1-800-be a-star number. Neither time did a deposit show up on my credit card.

I have reservations for January at PBH. Made the reservations at 1-800-23-loews. The one night deposit hit my credit card this month. I have stayed at all three of the Universal hotels and have always been charged a one night deposit.
