I am a little anxious...I have 7 days to go and I have this sense of urgency about needing to start packing, but I know there's no way I can pack clothes since we'll be wearing all our stuff! Its almost like a little bit of panic because I am afraid I'll forget something...
When do all of you start packing?

Momimouse27- I know what you mean. We leave in 7 days too! We have been wearing most of the clothes we will be taking too. It was a lot cooler here today only around 70. I was thinking of making a list of everything I want to pack. Maybe I will start on that tomorrow so I dont forget anything! It will help to remind me of any last minute items I might need to get. We only take carry on so I really can't pack too much.

Sadly, me and my DS's 4 & 8 are both completely packed!! I have a really bad habit of buying lots of new clothes for our trip and don't let them wear them before we go. So, I have 3 full suitcases with freshly laundered and pressed clothes ready to go. DH is on his own and probably won't pack for another 6 days :flower: Maybe I have a problem, but I like to be prepared well in advance :rotfl2:

Well, for our January trip I was packed WAAAY in advance. Two weeks ahead or something. Then the stupid weather changed. I had to unpack and start over with warmer clothes.
Now we are 19 days from departure but I can't start packing because like several other posters I am wearing the stuff I will need to pack! We are leaving on a Friday, so I will have to pack the Sunday before. That means the week leading up to the trip I will be wearing clothes I don't like, shorts that fit funny, etc. Like that week won't be stressful enough, then add the shorts that make my rear look like a hot air balloon. I'll be chomping at the bit to get on the plane so I can wear the clothes I like once we get there! DH asked me yesterday when I am going to start packing. I think he is surprised I haven't started yet!
There is a really detailed packing list on www.themouseforless.com that I used on our last trip. There were a lot of things on there we didn't need, but I just crossed those off. Happy packing!

:rotfl: I've bought all new clothes for this trip - I usually wear all my old clothes on holiday so I don't worry about ruining them with sun tan lotion... but this year it's our honeymoon and I want to look good in all the photos - so voila a whole new holiday wardrobe! I think I actually have more clothes than days :rotfl: I'm still 40 days out but I've just started washing and ironing everything... then I might as well pack it... right...? :rolleyes1

I probably should admit this, but we fly out in 13 days, and I got the suitcases out and started sorting clothes today. I am obsessed! :rotfl2:

I usually start packing about one month in advance:) I just can't help it.
I suggest, you start packing things you WON'T be needing (like books, or bathing suits), and then pack everything else (clothes you'll be wearing before you leave, toiletries) they day/night before you leave. Make a check list, to make sure you don't leave anything out in the last minute rush. I almost left behind my dental appliance one year, but luckily my sister reminded me...
Good Luck and Have Fun!
Hope I was of some help,

We leave in 10 days and I haven't even started about packing. I'm feeling so overwhelmed with it all right now, almost to the point I don't want to go. There's just way too much to think about.

I'm going in Nov. Since in a few weeks I will be packing away (due to season change) shorts and summer shirts. I will just pack them in my suitcase!
Undergarments will go in a few days in advance. Toiletries will go in the morning I leave.

:earboy2: After reading everybody's posts, it got me thinking that it would be a good idea, what someone said, to start packing things I won't use here. So, I now have all the suitcases out.
I am packing swimsuits-the pool is closed now-lanyards, p.j.s, and tickets. I have figured out that if I wear all my capris this week, then I can go ahead and pack all my shorts! Unfortunately, my girls(who are growing rapidly) don't have near enough shorts that fit them, so they'll have to wait til Friday. I am going Bonkers thinking I might forget something! :bitelip:

My DH who is usually the last to pack already has his bag packed. I started to pack my DS's bag and I am going to try to start packing mine. It got cooler here so I have been wearing jeans, and I can wear all of my old t shirts. I put all of the tickets and other important papers in my bag. The video camera is charging and has a new tape. Only a few more days. Let's hope for good weather down there. :sunny:

I started packing today and I still have 18 days to go. I made all new T-shirts (thanks DDA, t-shirt thread) for this trip and the weather is much cooler here now so I am able to put together outfits and pack them. I also have a toddler so getting together all the stroller/baby items. I am obsessed so this is a good way for me to feel like I'm heading to disney.

I have 57 days until my surprise trip!! I have been stuffing different things in a suitcase. As I am closing my camper down for the year, I am putting all the toiletries in my suitcase. I am sneaking thru my DS15 and DS12 things to gather clothes they are not wearing anymore (due to cold), laughing the whole time!! I am packing Sweet n low as my DH doesn't use anything else, my peppermint tea, drink mix for the park, sunscreen, etc. Makes the magic start sooner!!

I started packing last night - have 9 days to go and I'm a little panicked about getting it done. I always pack early though - and dh packs like 1-2 days prior to leaving - I don't know how he does it!

Got my second wind and packed everything Sunday to leave this Friday. About a month ago, I started folding stuff and putting it away in our spare bedroom (out of sight, out of mind). I'm a nurse and lucky enough to get to wear scrubs all week at work. Good Lord knows I don't even want to see a pair of scrubs after Thursday night! Plus we made 4 different t-shirts with our theme (Oh, yes. We have a theme.), so that stuff wouldn't be worn anyway. So other than my make-up, Chi iron and prescription meds, I'm good to go.
Yipee! :rotfl: Three days until Sisters Amuck 2005!

Where did you find summer tops for yourself and shirts for your DH?? I am having a hard time finding clothes right now for Disney since it's the fall and only long sleeves are in the stores.

jamzots - I see you are in Miller Place, I am close by in Rocky Point - have you tried the outlets? Try the sale racks - you might get lucky!

I start packing, at least in my mind, the moment I put down the deposit, pathetic I know. Just make lists and you will be fine. The weather is turning up here (Michigan) so I can justify confiscating my kid shorts and putting them in a suitcase now.

Our local Kohl's store still has summer stuff on their racks at 70% off.

Since the fine Ohio summer weather seems to be turning to fall and our friends from the north are sending us their cooler temps I guess I can finally pack my shorts & summer tops in my suitcase. Don't think I'll be needing them here anymore.
11 days and counting.... I haven't even danced yet .... :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thank you!! I went to Kohls today but they basically had nothing left for summer, got my DH some of those Nike and Champion T-shirts. I am going to outlets next week!!! Hopefully I'll find something for myself. I had a baby the end of May and I am ususally a little more prepared for my Disney trips. We also have to first drive to South Carolina where we are speniding 3 nights because we are all in my brothers wedding party. Then we are heading to Disney for 5 nights, so much to do and pack, especially with the little guy!! :rotfl:

we leave in 5 days, and I haven't packed anything yet, I have been making a checklist with two columns, one for when we leave home and one for when we leave disneyland. I know it sounds anal but that's what I did. As I would think of something I would type it on the list and whenever I saw something on these wonderful boards, I would copy and paste it onto the list.
