:flower: Just booked PBH Club Level for June @ $319.20 a night through AAA. The AAA rate through Loews was $40 more. It looks like my AAA membership is paying off.

Thanks for the tip. So far the only rooms available at the AAA discount for my dates at RPR (6/30 - 7/2) are King suites. I guess I'll have to keep trying.

Cool. Did you book AAA over the phone or on the website? Is the $319 before taxes? Thanks for the heads up.

Anyone know if the Ap rates are out? I would check myself, but I don't think they are open at the moment.

I'm a member of AAA. Where do you get the rates? I thought you just had to mention that you were a memeber when booking. I'll be booking for next summer soon. Thanks. :flower:

I have reservations at Portofino Bay for two nights in January. After seeing this thread, I called Loews Hotels to see if I could apply the AAA discount to my reservations. Of course, I was told that AAA discount was not available. The reservationist told me the AAA rates are sold out. She told me to keep trying because if someone who has the AAA rate cancels the reservation, it would go back into the AAA rate inventory. I asked her to try Hard Rock and Royal Pacific. She told me the hotels are completely sold out those days - January 12-14th - I wonder what's going on - conventions I guess. I thought it would be slow.

I went through AAA this morning and got HRH Club Level in July for $323 + taxes. I believe rack rate was $383 so I saved $120 for 2 nights. :)

I went through the AAA website. Like Colorado DISers said, the AAA website price for HRH was cheaper than the AAA price quoted on the Universal website. Go through AAA to get the most savings. :)

I called today for my dates--July 6-? probably 4-6 nights. The AP rates are not yet out, nor are they showing GE employee discounts for that time. Here is the story with the AAA discount:
PBH Standard $231
Bayview $247
Deluxe $263
HRH Poolview $251
Deluxe $305
RPR Standard $183
Waterview $207
BTW I inquired about the FL residents rate (for my brother who is likely to join us there) and the rates are not as good as the AAA.
I put a 24 hour hold on the PBH Deluxe. I am waiting to hear from my sister as to whether or not she wants to stay at PBH for her birthday bash. If its a go, I will book and contact PBH directly about an upgrade to a Villa Suite. :cool1: I've got my fingers crossed for a better rate when the AP rates come out.

I made reservations today (9/25) for Feb. 25-Mar 1 for RPH club level directly with Loews. They are having an unadvertised special--get 2 free tickets for both parks & City Walk per room for length of stay up to 7 days. I don't know if this applies to non-club level rooms or not. The cost of the room is the regular $379. The AAA discount on the room is $341. For my 4 nights, I can save $152 total on the room or about that per person for an APH or the equivalent in tickets since they don't sell anything more than a 3-day pass. The ticket savings, about $300, is a better deal than the room discount. You can't get the free tickets and the room discount combined, though.

Denny144, I saw that special as well. Stay 4 nights and play FREE. Would you happen to know if the park tickets are tied to your stay only. In other words, can you save those tickets for use down the road? Are the tickets non-expiring? I was surprised to check the AAA discounts and see February was high ($251 per night for a standard room at RPR) vs. our December trip ($224 per night for club level at RPR).
Portofino Hotel was even more outrageous at well over $300 per night for a standard room during February.

Thanks for starting this thread about AAA rates. I saved about $25.00 per night when I booked my room. :sunny:

The tickets are activated when you check in and are good for 7 days including the check-in day so you can't save them for later. When I went to the Loews site, the Orlando hotels weren't listed as being part of the stay 3 nights and get the 4th free so I was pleasantly surprised when I called and got the special.

I am a little confused. I just ordered my AAA membership because the AAA travel agent said she couldn't give me pricing until I was a member, so, whatever, I signed up. Then she e-mailed me the quotes for my trip, which were 5 nights at POFQ w/dining pass and 2 nights HRH with 2 day passes with the 3rd day free. She broke out the prices for me on the quote. I went on line to Universal and I got the exact same price with AAA that I got with Universal Directly ??????? $1085.05 for two nights at HRH garden view w/park tickets for 2 adults and child (8) and child (12). The Disney savings was about $100.00 vs what I got from the DisneyWorld website. Should I call AAA back and ask them where the discount is for HRH?? Confusing............. :confused3

You are right, Bubba's Mom. We are going during President's weekend so Universal will be mobbed. Grit my teeth and booked at RPR std. room for $251.10 per night under AAA discount. Wish a better discount would come along. or even club level. No club rooms at this time. Wonder if I should keep checking?

Can anyone post their link to AAA where they were able to check AAA rates for HRH?

Don't use AAA of the Carolinas - my quote was $250 higher than the Loew's website. :rotfl2: :badpc: :earseek:

Typically if they are allowing people to book into July. When would they start booking July and august? ( under AAA)

I just call 800 232-7827 and ask what discounts are available for the dates I want to travel. That is the 800# for Universal Orlando. If I don't like the discounts availalble, I call again. After booking, if I hear on the boards that rates are down, I call and ask for an adjustment. When you book through that #, they do not ask you to verify AAA, AP etc. at the time of booking, but they do tell you to bring the card with you at check in. That way, you have until time of travel to get your memberships in order. I have heard of people on these boards checking in with an AP rate, even though they were not buying the AP until after check in. I think they were asked to bring the AP back to the front desk when they got it.
The number I have been asked for when I book is my Loews First #. This is to see if upgrades are available.

try www.aaa.com also, if you use the universal site, click on your hotel and put "aaa" in the promo code box (for aaa discount)

Uh oh! :confused3 Earlier this week I checked both sites for RPR rates for our trip next year. All of sudden, today the rate is $50 higher than rack rate was up till this week?? Why the jump all of a sudden?? My AAA discount brings the rate back down to the original rack rate. Was I supposed to hurry up and book at the cheaper rate earlier this week?? Did I screw up?? :confused3

Interesting. Was it the same type of room? We're arriving the 30th of June and the only AAA rates I can find for RPR on the web or by calling is $275 for a king suite, which is not what we want.
