Did anyone have their mum and dad escort them down the aisle? I want to include my mum in the ceremony in someway.

We haven't gotten married yet, but I already asked both of my parents to walk me down the aisle. They both had a part in making me, so I figured they both should "give me away".

But during our 1st dance there is a part in the song that states I wanna honor your ma and learn from your pa and we thought that he would walk over to my parents and I to his and present them with a small token!

That's actually the tradition in Jewish weddings.
But aside from that, I think it's becoming more and more common.

It is much more common. My sister had both mom and dad walk her down the aisle as well. Other sister walked down the aisle by yourself. It's all personal preference!

I didn't and I regret not having done so. If I could do it over, I would definetly have both of them

My dad is going to walk me down, but we're including both my parent's and my soon to be husbands parents in the ceremony be starting out and thanking them. We will also give each mom a rose.

Thanks guys - we were originally going to do something in the ceremony and the rose things - but now DH2B's parents have decided they don't want to attend - and I don't want to highlight that they're missing (not that you won't notice!). I think I'll ask my mum this weekend and see what she thinks.

my dad will be walking me down the aisle & when the officiant asks who gives this bride he will say her mother & i do. later in the ceremony both our parents will be lighting the individual parent candle that we made personalized with our last names & family crests for our unity candle arrangement and after that we plan on doing a thank you rose ceremony to our mothers for the life they gave us.

Anyone have divorced parents? What did you do?
Both my mother and father will be walking me too! My mom felt extremely special when I asked her.....

I attended a wedding last weekend where both the mother and father walked the bride down the aisle. It made for a great photo of all three of them entering! The parents are divorced and no one thought it was odd that they were escorting her together since they created her together. Granted, neither of them are remarried.
Then, she had both her parents stand up there with her as well as her brother and her nieces.
On the groom's side, he entered escorting his mom (his dad has passed away). She stayed up at the alter with him, and he had his brother, best man, niece and nephew up there with him. It sounds like a lot of people, but it looked really neat to have all the immediate blood family for both the bride and groom up there.
I plan to have both my mom and dad walk me down the aisle. My dad is remarried, so I have to figure out the logistics of who escorts my stepmom.
