View Full Version : Weather Channel ratings??

I didn't know where to post this, but I figured this board would have more Weather Channel viewers than other boards.

I'd like to know the ratings for the Weather Channel when it's not Hurricane season. The reason I ask is because I know, down here, the only time we ever watch the weather channel is during this season.

It seems like their bread-and-butter is their hurricane coverage. Do they cover blizzards the same way?

I guess I should pay more attention to the weather channel when it's not hurricane season, but when you live in South Louisiana and the saying is "Don't like the weather? Stick around, it'll change any minute", watching the weather channel doesn't do as good as just looking out the window. :rotfl:

Hehe, I don't know the purpose of this thread. I'm not really looking for definitive answers, guess just making an observation. Anybody else weird like me and wonder the same thing? :confused3

I'd say I average a couple hours a week year round, more often when something major is going on.

Jim Cantore needs to be on more often LOL!

Also--during non-season when so much coverage is dedicated to less widespread events...don't they have more weather disaster shows and such on the schedule.

I watch the weather channel regularly. I'll switch it on whenever I want to see how miserably hot it will be or if we'll ever get rain again. ;)

Actually, I prefer it to regular news because I don't have to wait.

I'd got his cel number if you want it.

DH keeps teasing me telling me that the next time he talkes to Jim that he's going to tell him that I want more muscle shirts and less windbreaker.

How'd you get it? Was it in Paris Hilton's Blackberry? LOL!

I don't watch the Weather Channel at all anymore. Our cable provider has a weather-scan channel (it may be based on info from the Weather Channel). Anyway, it's more regionally based, updated constantly and without some of the annoying talking heads chattering about the weather.

Jim can be on Weather Channel 24/7, as LONG AS HE'S NOT REPORTING FROM MY CITY!!!! :rotfl:

I'm telling you, the guy's a hurricane magnet. I remember watching him during Lili. He started off in New Iberia, then fled to Lafayette where the storm followed with all her wrath.

Lili was one of the more interesting hurricanes I've lived through. I was at my parents' house watching my hometown of New Iberia get shredded by her. It wasn't until the storm reached Lafayette that we lost power, thus losing the Weather Channel and Jim's live footage.

DH runs several news radio stations that do work with the weather channel so he's actually got it. It's in his blackberry! Sad thing is that's true.

Stephanie Abrams is also a friend of a friend. Her best friend is my dad's best friends daughter. They went grade school through college together.

Jim is a total hurricane magnet, that's why I wouldn't want to be his camera guy! I just remember him laying on the ground reporting during Charley because he couldn't stand in the wind.

Speaking of Jim Cantore, where is he right now? If he heads for Dallas to watch for tornadoes or something, I am SO out of here! :teeth:
