DIS-CON Chat

When are we going to have another DIS-CON Chat session? I missed the first one, but would love to be at the next one.

I have read the post of lots of people, but would love to have us all together for a chat session.

Pat, I know that people 'chat' about DIS-Con, but I have never figured out when or where either! :confused: :( :confused: :(

I chat almost every night! However, if you'd like to have a special DIS-Con chat, just pick a date and time and publicize it. The chat rooms are open 24 hours a day.

OK.. I will host another DisCon Chat not this Wednesday, I am going to try for next Wednesday, as Linda is in WDW now.. So.. I would like her there with us, if there are any questions that we need a definite clarification on..but of course, feel free to stop by the chat rooms any night..9:00pm is topic chat, but you can go to room l and talk, it is usually general chat..

In order to meet in another room, you should request permission from Nativetxn or Snugs, the chat mistresses... I think that would be best..rather than going into room 1.. I do host chat on two nights and the night that I would do it will be Wednesday night as Friday night is cruise chat..

I attempted to talk to nativetxn at one point about a Dis-Con chat, but nothing ever came of it. It seemed like it was too much of a hassle to get people together and then to chat at a time that didn't interfere with the regular chat. So I gave up. :D

Well let's start by picking a date and then we can go from there. So far Pat has suggested Sept. 24th. Does that work for everyone?

I would talk to a chat host if you plan to meet during a regularly scheduled chat time: evenings from 9:00-10:30 and some days at lunch time. Marsha wants to schedule an "official" chat with Linda, but there's no reason why you can't informally get together in the chat room at any time of day or night and shoot the bull!;) It's as easy as picking a time and showing up.

I'm thinking 'shoot the bull' type of chat.....but if we wanna have specific questions answered...then yeah, we'd definitely want to/have to coordinate with Linda and Marsha and the powers that be! :D ;)

Chat is not an exclusive club, you are all invited to attend at any time.. Topic chat is at 9:00pm everynight and we try very hard to stay on topic and pick something that will be educational, Disney, and entertaining.. Those who do not want to participate in topic chat usually adjourn to room l.. I thought you were looking for a special place just for yourselves to chat Dis Convention.. If you plan on meeting in room l for Dis Con Chat, there will be others there who will be chatting whatever they want to chat about..You are certainly welcome to join them in General chat. I am sure that is what Nancy meant by chatting at anytime.. I just wanted to make it clear that it is a General Chat and others will be chatting other things.. it will not be exclusively Dis Convention Chat..

I have no idea what Pat intended when he started this thread.....I'll be happy :) :) :) to attend any sort of DIS-Con chat that is decided upon....whether it be formal, or casual, or private or public or general or specific or ;)

Luvdsny, I don't think anyone is upset by reading the responses on this thread. I do think it would be best if there was a sched. chat with Marsha and Linda. That way we can get official answers to questions, and there wouldn't be any specualtions. Maybe one chat a month could be designated as DIS CON chat for those attending and it can be a general chat with Linda and Marsha there to answer any questions that may arise as the time gets closer. It also may not be possible because of conflicting scheds. and appointments.

I will tell you as a chatter who is in chat eveynite, that it would be difficult to go into room 1 and hold a DIS CON chat while it is general chat. JMHO.

You are always welcomed to use room 2 at any time for an informal chat about the convention.

The main lobby is for topic chat only from 9 to 10:30. There is a general chat going on in room 1 or 3 at any given moment.

As for scheduling a "formal" chat regarding DIScon, that will be scheduled during a time that both Marsha and Linda are available, on Wednesday nights at 9PM.

I just thought it would be nice to get together for a general chit chat about the convention...get to know some of the folks a little better before we finally meet.


I see nothing wrong with us using say room 3 on monday the 24th. We can check with the chat mistresses, but I hardly ever see anyone in that room, so i don't see that it should be a problem.

But if Linda and Marsha would like to schedule an official to answer questions and so-forth that would be great.

I think Pat's suggestion works. This would be a very informal chit-chat about unofficial DIS Con stuff. Like Pat said, we just would like to "shoot the bull" to get to know each other a little bit. We could use the room 3 idea for our unofficial chat and Marsha's Wednesday night chat for official questions and information.

I was wondering if we could still to do this, either informal discon chit chat or "official" with Marsha and Linda.

I am all for this belle, I do not know if Marsha and Linda have anything planned in the near future. I talked with Nativetxn and she said that we can meet anytime after 10:30 pm eastern in room #2... she does not want us to meet before that time as it may confuse all the newcomers who are in the lobby, and 10:30 is when the official chats end.

I have no problem with this time as I am a late night person. So if the PTB do not have anything planned maybe one evening we can sort of have an impromptu one ourselves.

I can probably do a chat that late one time, at least. My hubby hates when I'm computing in one room while he's watching TV in the other. I try to limit computer time after he gets home, but once in while won't kill him! LOL I will be away from Oct. 6-14. If you have it then, someone will have to talk for me, too! ;) ;) I do think it's a great idea and will be a nice way to get into DIS-Con mode! :)

10:30 Eastern is 8:30 Mountain Time, which would be a great time for me. However, I'm leaving for WDW in 4....count 'em FOUR DAYS!!!!!

Truth be told, I'd rather be walking down Main Street in a week and a half, instead of the cruise. But, I guess it's the next best thing to being at WDW. Who knows-maybe I'll feel differently once I'm there, too. It will be nice just to be in warm weather again. I am freezing today. My feet are like ice cubes! (this is why I go to WDW-I need warmth and sunshine-among other reasons, of course)

Barb! Is it already cold where you are??? This is so hard for me to imagine. I like to go to WDW in nov/dec because it is chilly and it takes me away a while from the oven, I mean, summer.
My sister lives in Bellingham, Wa. She is already an American citizen, but hasn't got used to the long winters. She misses the sunshine a lot.

If you are in the same time zone as Rio de Janero (sp), you are 1 hour ahead of Eastern Time. So if the chat would be at 10:30pm Eastern Time, it would be 11:30pm your time.
