This also discusses what looks good for those who are not part of the DVC or for resorts that haven't opened just yet.

BWV....LOCATION...LOCATION...LOCATION...People watching, great places to eat. When I'm on vacation, I don't want to look at my car or drive anywhere.

Boardwalk Villas don't have as much villas as Old Key West....Wilderness Lodge has even fewer.

We fell in love with WL on our first trip there. My DW wouldn't consider staying anywhere else, though we have toured most of the resorts.

So when VWL came on line, it was a no brainer. We love the theming, the restaurants, the boat ride to Magic Kingdom, the pool, the.......I think you get it.

But I must say that the OKW and BWV people on this board make me want to sample those as well. Once again, that's the beauty of DVC!

Old Key West is our favorite. To us, it is the first DVC and the best DVC. We love it for the peace and tranquility after a hectic day in the parks. We love the large rooms, from studio to GV. We never use our car unless it's to go to another hotel for dinner, and have no problem with the transportation system there. I see enough people in the parks - don't need to see/hear when I want to relax. But, again, that's what is so great about DVC - whatever you want, you can have! :earsgirl:

Old Key West is the greatest. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

BWV because of the wonderful location, the many restaurants available within walking distance, the beauty of the resort and its surroundings, room service, the nighttime entertainment available, the boardwalk, 2 parks within walking distance, the pampering you get from a deluxe hotel, being able to sit on my balcony and see the fireworks from Illuminations and Fantasmic and the overall fun and exciting atmosphere of the resort.

I voted for OKW, my home resort. Even though right now we are ending a 2-week stay here at the Boardwalk villas, which we have enjoyed tremendously, (excepting this week's very sad happenings).

We've stayed at BWV before, and at VWL also and each has great things for them. The location of BWV to Epcot and MGM cannot be equaled. However, the spaciousness of OKW still appeals to me more than the 'location' of BWV or the decor of VWL. The basic layout of BWV, VWL, and the BCV 1-BR units seems to me to feel more like an Apartment, while the look and feel of OKW seems to me more like going 'home'.

I'll have to reserve judgment on the new Eagle Pines villas until they are actually built and I've had a chance to stay there.

Met some fellow DISers who were also DVCers and mentioned that even though I own BWV have only done OKW and we loved it.

Looking forward to WLV and the opening of the 2 new resorts

Beach Club Villas open in Spring 2002.

Phase One of the Spanish/Eagle Pines Villas is 2004 with full completion in 2005/2006.

We like the "relaxed feeling" of OKW. Also, the advantage of parking our car 10-30 feet from our room. We come and go a lot and that would be a lot of walking doing that at BW or WLV. All of the resorts have pluses and minuses, but thats why it is great to be a DVC member, to try them all. HH also has the advantage of parking close to your room also.We are going to VB this July, and don't know how the parking is there yet.But OKW is our favorite, that is why we bought there.:D
